Anything less than a 7-0 win here and Jose should hang his head in shame.

I would like youngsters like Tuanzebe and Gomes given a chance bit there is no chance in hell for that to happen.
    So
    Ddg
    Young Jones Lindelöf Shaw
    Matic Pogba
And Rashford, Lukaku, Lingard and Martial to stop being so bloody inmobile. Lingard is the best of that lot to find space. All 4 should pass and move move move. With Pogba coming from behind

    Except we really didn't

Regularly dropped points over xmas many times
    I remember Birmingham away draw
    Stoke away draw

There are so many games everyone should expect to drop something

It pisses me off when people reminisce like this, like we never lost a game under fergie and we won every game 4-0
Holy shit, calm down!. All I said was we used to have good form in December. And that optimistic posters would expect us to drop points. Even though you seem to be a liability to try reason with here are the points totals from fergusons last 7 decembers

    16/18pts 2012

    15/18 2011

    10/12 2010

    12/18 2009

    10/12 2008

    15/18 2007

    15/18 2006

    93/114

An interesting coincidence is that 114 available points is 38 games or a seasons worth of fixtures. We got 93 points, but yes please forgive me and continue on your utter moaning rant for no reason because I said we used to have good form in December.

No one's posted for 2 minutes, the suspense is killing us.
Few hours from kick off yet. I'll be inactive until then. Whatever you do don't be concerned by this, I repeat don't.

By the time The Roses play I'll be primed and ready to deliver.

Heart over head again, but I fancy us to batter these today... Someone is going to get and today may well be that day

We just have to win today. By any means necessary.

If we drop points today, we’ll be ending the year in third place

I'd like to see Pogba and Matic behind Mata in the 10 spot with Lingard and Martial either side interchanging with Radford up front. Huge attacking threat, great mobility, with Mata the fulcrum.

Ray Radford- scorer of wonder goal for Hereford or John, member of Arsenal double winners?

I think it was Ronnie Radford who scored the famous Hereford goal in 1972. A bit of useless trivia there.

I didn't try for a ticket for this one, so it's BT Sports for me. Famous last words, but I can't see us dropping more home points today. A comfortable 3-0. Three at the back or go for 4-4-2?

    Excellent.

But if we won't play.. I was just thinking, our forward options are dreadful, if not quality wise then the depth is awful. No true winger and when one of Rashford or Martial is out we don't really have anyone to play on the wings. I mean we can play Mata or Lingard or Young but that's not really something is it. Good players on their day but not as wingers.

No Shaw? Is that everyone or just those that have been spotted?

    I'm going for 2 - 1.

We don't seem able to keep a clean sheet, recently, but Southampton are even worse than us at the moment.

But no Shaw ?? Jeez, you've got to feel for him when Blind and Lindelof can make the squad....

Only 16 spotted. Match squad is usually around 20 which gets whittled down to 18, so Mkhitaryan, Herrera, Shaw and Zlatan are likely those in the squad not seen.

I don't think Shaw would start this or the Everton game anyway

I'm sure he will too, but I expected Young on the right and Shaw left given Valencia and Darmian are unavailable.

I'd start him today, in order to give him some momentum, if he's available.

Will be interesting to see how we manage to make our opponents look like world-beaters again today.

Guess it will be another draw. Our form at the moment is just too bad.

Burnley didn't look like world beaters and neither did Leicester.

I'm expecting Shaw to alternate games for now. With what Mourinho has said about him in the past, I doubt Jose thinks he can play every match over this busy period. So since he played against Burnley, he'll miss this match and then hopefully start against Everton. That's my expectations anyway.

We tore open Leicester and missed 3 1v1s. Burnley were camped in their own half for the 2nd half and had to do some last ditch defending several times.

Both of those games were like last season; where we were the better team but got draws out of them.

I didn't even do it to do that, would say it's the most unnecessary and incorrect moan I've ever been on the end of here. Sums up the attitude of so many on the forum, go round moaning and griping at everything, the don't bloody bother engaging when a counter opinion is put forward pretty clearly.

Mood of the forum is very much say what I want, do what I want and feck anybody else

I thought it was a really reasoned response that completely shut it down.

Best thing you can do when someone is being a dick to you.

I'll be using that stat at the pub during the United-Saints game this evening!

That applies to everyone who isn't a City fan. The league is done; our aim must be to win as many as we can in all competitions. Improvement, and there's still much to play for.

    'Missing players' spotted
Luke Shaw, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ander Herrera or Henrikh Mkhitaryan were not spotted by the MEN photographers arriving at the Lowry.

But Mkhitaryan, Shaw and Herrera are definitely there as they have just been spotted getting off the team coach.
