Is it true he's been playing a lot as a 6 this season? That's even better if true, because we then also have a legitimate Casemiro back up

I'm going to be disappointed if he doesn't come now. Bayern wouldn't be talking if they weren't willing to deal though, it's looking good.
They'll probably try to twist our arm with some unrealistic "mandatory buy" crap or high loan fee. It's Bayern after all. They're cnuts and they hate us.

When he was great in Salzburg, from a Salzburg perspective. A very good talent, but not enough football brain. But after joining Leipzig he developed, became a leader in the Austrian national team and became a key-player for Leipzig. Bayern and Austrian players does not fit, if they are not called Alaba. His transfer was not a good idea, because he is good in many things, but not great at any. But Bayern always needs specialists.
So he would be a good/cheap signing for January, could cover many positions, knows how to press and works hard. Not the worst panic buy!

Just seen this now. Can’t be bothered scrolling through 16 pages. Does this look like it could happen or is it just made up media nonsense to keep us engaged during todays deadline day?

He’d be a good signing particularly with Eriksen injured.

That's a Glazer problem.

The budget was widely reported to be £120m before the summer window of 2022 opened and pressure was then placed on the owners to release more funds which they did after losing to Brighton and Brentford.

Thanks for this :)

Seems to be very much happening.

Read that they just want to lower their payroll. Paid 15 Mill € for Marcel, so 15 Mill + 10 Mill savings should be enough.

How imminent?
Is it "looking out the window for the delivery driver to get me my food" imminent?
or is it "wife is about to choose what to eat for dinner" imminent???

I can't take much more of this.

I'm just so sick of fecking loan deals, now made as the window closes because our house of cards are collapsing.

We should've enquired about Sabitzer before Eriksen's injury, which perhaps we did. If we did then fine. It's still a damn loan deal, but at least there was a semblance of a plan.

Luckhurst says we're confident in getting him. Rival team pundits have all slammed it. Seems legit.

Actually impressed by this. Seems like a quality acquisition on loan as well so little risk involved.

He'll add more steal to the middle. Players often pass Eriksen by easily. Although we would suffer offensively as he isn't as slick as Eriksen going forward.

Such an angry little muffin. If this deal gets done, things really could have been so much worse. Things are going in the right direction, try and enjoy things.

We've got awful owners mate. If the budget was set in stone before the window opened, we could've got alot of the deals done earlier potentially. But we went into the window with a £120m budget allocated to the football department and that budget was altered after pressure was applied to Joel Glazer.

The problem will always be the Glazers.

I don't understand what else you want? Get Frenkie De Jong on a day's notice?

We have no money and have been forced into this due to the Eriksen injury. I, for one, am estatic.

He has a wonderful engine, and is a proper all around midfielder. I don't think he actually excels at anything, but he's solid all over midfield. I reckon you could stick him in any of the midfield positions and he'd do a decent enough job. There is no reason he can't do a job as Casemiro's backup.

If a PFM like Merson thinks this is a bad idea, I'm 100% on board with it.

It’s funny because instead of ETH telling players they’re rubbish and not good enough for this team he’s just leaving them out hoping they hand in a transfer request. Maguire being one of them.
ETH probably knows replacing them mid-season is unrealistic. If they are here at the end of the summer window, perhaps then, your point may stand.
