2015/16 G:8 A: 2
2016/17 G:11 A: 7
2017/18 G: 13 A:9
2018/19 G:13 A:8

He is already on 9 goals and 3 assists, surely this is the season touches 20 + Goals and 10+ Assists. The boy is special.

I look at Sterling's numbers when I look at Rashford. Sterling's real breakthrough season was 2 years ago when he was 22, he went from 10 goals in all comps in 16/17 to 23 in all comps in 17/18 - that's got to be the measuring stick for Rashford imo

If Rashford can get anywhere near those numbers in a much worse side (because dont forget the 17/18 season was the one where City won 100 points in the league) then he'll be doing unbelievably

At the very least we know he has all the materials to be a great player. All he really has to do is figure it out. The only full back in the league that could deal with him is on our team. Pogba cant come back soon enough cause with Martial and Rashford in this mood, having someone that can put them through will benefit us greatly.

He is starting to give me the feeling that the very best attackers do.

He is making it feel as though 90 consecutive minutes is a very long time for him not to score. He might miss chances, he might mess up a pass or two but he is so dangerous that he only needs to get it right once per match.

The comments talking about him needing space on the LW to be effective - I agree. It's no surprise that since Martial has gotten back into the team he's come to life. Martial has a huge gravitational pull in the middle that opens up tons of space for Rashford and James around him. Pogba is going to be in heaven when he comes back to those 3.

If Ole tell him if he beat fullback to run in far post area, he must pass cutback & square when there's a player, it'll improve Rashford's decision. This is proper coaching, that's why other coaches like Pep can improve every player he has coached because they do what he wants them to do.

I think Rashford's passing is very good, some of his pass to James was our biggest chance, it took defenders out of the play with single-pass from left flank outside the box. I felt like he needs to do more and be more positive on the ball .

So what you’re saying is Rashford’s miss is down to Ole ?

No, not really, not all of it but I think Ole should tell Rashford to trust his left foot more when he finishes chance on the left flank when it passes to him from the right flank where James pass, it was better to finish tap with left-footed from the left flank. He's too one-footed when trying to finish the chance. Either this or he passes it into the net as he did against Newcastle last winter, he doesn't need to shot with too much power.

I feel like Ole is letting Rashford do whatever he like in thrid final, which I think affected Rashford's making decision as I've stated in my previous post on here.

Top guy Rashford, you always hear stories about him doing stuff like this for fans. The fan is a life long United fan from the US that beat cancer, his friends treated him to the game and got in touch with Rashford and Rashford ended up giving him the experience below.

Great finish against Kosovo tonight, hope his goalscoring run continues as he really seems a confidence player

He’s absolutely on fire again at the moment, really hope he carries this form into the next few fixtures because he’s tough to beat playing like this.

He was simply tired vs Brighton. I have noticed it’s when he gets really sloppy with his fine motor skills. It’s easier to sprint than make an accurate pass when tired especially for a tall lanky lad. I’m a physical therapist that’s how I know. Too many giants at United has been the problem all along combined with many others with good ball skills but no athleticism... Mata, Herrera etc. Ole is starting to get the balance right.

We need more physiotherapists on here. I agree, Ole said it clearly in his early time with us. If you aren’t fit you won’t get access to your skills. Mind blowing revelation isn’t it?

Playing very good for club and country at the moment.

Looks to have shaken off any injuries. Don't think I've seen a United player looking so fresh and agile in years to be fair, long may it continue.

He is red hot at the moment. We've seen him drop down a level after some good form before though. Hopefully he manages to keep this up. 9 goals in last 10 games playing on the wing is excellent.

So, is he on 10 England goals? If so, it's crazy that he's only two behind Sterling who debuted a good few years before him, and is pretty much in his prime, too.

He could end up surpassing Rooney with Kane at this rate.

I think he's got faster recently as well. There was a sprint tonight without the ball where he looked ridiculously fast through the centre of the pitch.

I agree, looks to have added that bit of bulk ala Bale and Ronaldo back in the day which helps to generate that explosive speed. I just hope that he doesn't put too much pressure on his legs and start picking up muscle injuries.

Right now we just have to see how Rashfords reacts to teams that sit deep. Thats his greatest weakness tactically. How does he react when not given space to run? Will he try and force things by running into multiple defenders or will he try and find a different solution like working with williams/young on the overlap? Knowing him I feel he will consistently keep running into defenders which will then open us on the counter.

His next step in progression should be to learn how to play against a low block. Hopefully were only a year away from top 4 quality and so he will likely face teams that love to sit deep more often. If he cant adapt quickly it will affect his performances. I dont think were going to be a counter attacking team a year from now. Our seasonal form has played favorably to how teams approach us which has also benefited him.

Can you explain why we can’t play a fecking game without someone limping off ?

Thanks, just saw it.

Don't know about the veracity of these OPTA stats, but Rashford didn't get higher than 35.4 in an actual game last season.

Holy feck, he came in at faster than James?? James is one of the fastest players I've ever seen, only Traore for Wolves is faster IMO

The acid test here is maintaining this form. But Ole has to be careful to keep him fresh AND firing.

Definitely needs to score more goals in the box though, lovely finish tonight.

Kane has about 32 goals in 5 years, Rashy 10 in 4. He'll have to really step up his rate!

But Lineker is right though, there's so many pointless walkover games now, players will push him and Rooney right down over the coming decades.

Those are top speeds, not acceleration. James has crazy acceleration over short distances.

Even so, James at top speed is a lightning bolt - Rashford's always been very quick, but to be coming in as fast as he has is astounding

To add to this, some controversy...

Brimming with confidence. I don’t remember him shooting first time with no touches to control it like that. He just knew instantly what he wanted to do.

I really hope this form is here to stay as he’s so dangerous when in this mood.

Ole’s influence for sure.

To be fair I think James would beat him in any acceleration drill, but Rashford's height will always give him an edge at top speed/pace

The Brighton game was a great example of Rashford and James threatening with their athleticism. See post #2701. I wish stats concerning top speed were (always) contextualised by a visual example, or a time stamp. Take Sane's speed record, we all know he has electrifying pace, with him bullying the likes of Bellerin on more than one occasion. However, his absolute reported top speed is rather humorous when you see the visual example. 1:08 - 1:22

I remember reading about Bale's example. When I saw the footage, I was less than impressed.
