Sick of this lad now. Living every United fan's dream and getting paid a lottery jackpot every week for the privilege, and still mopes around the pitch with a face like a smacked arse, playing like he doesn't give a shit.

If I was Ratcliffe, I'd be looking at this as an opportunity to make a statement - get rid of Rashford and Bruno in the summer and show that Ineos are no longer going to tolerate sulkers, divas and prima donnas at this football club.

And (whisper it), apart from anything else, Rashford is actually a thoroughly mediocre footballer but the club treat him like he's prime f**king Messi!

Hojlund also didn’t score his first premier league goal until Boxing Day, it’s clear we have issues getting the ball to the striker consistently regardless of which one we pick. As another poster suggested, it would be interesting to see some stats that back up Marcus’ lack of effort.
If you need stats to back that up you should probably stop watching football. Or maybe start

Saying that Marcus can play as a 9 is like saying Sancho can play all positions in the front 3 or even that I can play as a GK;
None of us are any good there though

Mbappe leaving PSG is a godsend. They'll have to go after a "big" name and he fits the ball. Take £60/70 million and run.

I don’t get it

He’s obviously very talented. He was absolutely sensational on so many occasions last season. Why is he so bad again?

No words.. it is not even about ten Hag (he plays him after all, so no excuse), but this is awful stuff from him. Wouldn't have complaints if we sold him.

I agree that you’re a shit goalkeeper, but not sure how that analogy works.

It’s not like he’s unfamiliar with the no 9 role, and either way the main problem is that he doesn’t do the basics. You’ll rarely see him running into a 50-50 situation where there is room for hesitation, just as he very rarely goes up for headers. It’s like under 11’s football where you’d back off players going up for headers because there was a very large chance they’d mistime it and you’d take advantage, almost never works at this level.

I don’t get it

Absolutely sensational is a bit of a stretch, he had an insane goalscoring streak over a very short period of time, where he averaged over a goal per 90 mins. For roughly 2/3rds of the season he was poor.

Funny think about Rashford is where is he going to go? PSG or Chelsea maybe, other than that I can't see any big club going for him. He might like Chelsea though, 8 year contract getting 400k a week and will have to do feck all. He's just a sprinter, can't hold up the ball at all.

What Ineos do about Rashford will tell you everything you need to know about how serious they are about running our club.

Giving him yet another chance under a sixth manager (not counting Carrick) purely because of who he is (because it damn well can’t be because of his output) would be absurd.

He's really good at cutting in on the left and shooting. When that part of his game works, he looks really good. When it doesn't, he has nothing else to fall back on.

No words.. it is not even about ten Hag (he plays him after all, so no excuse), but this is awful stuff from him. Wouldn't have complaints if we sold him.
Tbf to ten Haag, Sancho was worse, Antony is poor, Greenwood is you know and Martial isn't a footballer.

It is pretty basic mate, Rashford cannot play in that position as you have highlighted

You don't need stats, you can see it with your own eyes, Bruno and Antony get criticised for lots of things but lack of effort isn't one of them, with Rashford it's as plain as sheet of white paper

What seriously bothered me is how he didn't even try to stop Fulhams first goal. He just turned his back. Didn't even try to get in the way. Infuriating.

Anyone not seen the Nicky Butt clip when hes talking about Rashford. in a nut shell hes says Rashford is not enjoying his football/life.

If your not enjoying what you do how can you be giving your best. You will be anxious, mistake prone, half hearted.. pretty much sums up Marcus this season.
a fresh start needed. PSG may be the cure.

Yeah and hopefully he cuts loose and rips it up.

I think the pressure of being the poster boy of his boyhood club through a long period of pain has just been too much for him. He’s not a strong enough character for it and the criticism has fecked him up

I think I’ve provided it a couple of times on this thread tonight already. I don’t think that he tried less today than his teammates, or at least the majority of them. I think it was a flat performance in general and the stats I saw of Fulham outrunning United over 90 minutes seems to back that up.
Ok let's turn this round, how many of his team mates pulled out of 50-50 challenges or turned away from blocking a shot?

Cant see it. this club right here and now treated him as like the messiah. No other club will have the same admiration or patience with him like we did. I wish him the best if he leaves but cant see it happening tbh.

Regarding stats, I checked and all I could find was this from opta back in December after the Newcastle game:

Another way we can try to measure “effort” is looking at intensive runs, which are defined as “high-speed running” or movement between 20 and 25km/h. While Rashford was on the pitch, United spent 23 minutes and 53 seconds out of possession, and in that time he registered 68 intensive runs; in the same amount of time, Martial tallied 116, while Garnacho managed 147 from 32 minutes at 16 seconds on the pitch while Newcastle were on the ball.
A very small sample size but that would back up what my impression of him is.

Advanced stats? I wear glasses, but damn, its clear as a day and night. It pains me to see Saka tracking back at a 4-0 lead, while our Rashy can not be arsed to run back at 0-0.

I'd happily drive him and Bruno to PSG and then if they arent up for it I will carry them to Saudi Arabia (not going to spend that much on petrol)

so it's everone elses fault but not his? Sorry, but lack of effort is inexcusable.

Then don’t excuse him? Dribble and rage away.

Id like to see him go on and have a successful and happy career….if it isn’t going to be at United then at somewhere else

i dont't hate him i would like to see him succeed. But it just sounded like looking for excuses elsewhere when it's clearly on him.
I might come across as a hater but hey it's not my fault I can write these posts weekly and they are still not wrong. How many games in a row now he was subpar?
I have good enough reasons to question his professionalism.. its pretty damn evident if you watch the games.

If PSG is really serious offering 80m euro then we should take it and run, he has no desire left here. And there so many wingers out there so replacing him - he offers nothing right now. Doesn't press, would not help his FB, no shots, no deliveries to the box, no dribbling, not leading the team, not being an inspirations who at least run up and down like Bruno, Scotty etc heck even Antony when nothing else is working - just walking around for the 90+ min to pass...

Yep and even that stat is flawed. Well, not flawed, but it doesn't tell you everything relating to that subject. For example, someone that reaches that speed but travels far longer distances at that speed, will only have that count as 1 instance of intensive running. Where as someone that reaches that speed, but doesn't sustain that speed immediately, still has that counted as 1 intensive run.

Fullbacks for example, will likely have less intensive runs, but probably have to cover the most distance per intensive run.

The other context surrounding this discussion is that intensive runs can happen while defending, while making a run behind the defense, while making a run in order to provide support, while providing a dummy support, etc... So the selflessness also depends on the context of your running. A player that knows he won't receive any direct benefit (for example no hope of getting a goal/assist), but still does it would be seen as selfless. Another player might only make runs because he can get a goal at the end of his effort.

I’ll be gobsmacked if any big club comes in with a top offer for Rashford.
Unlike some TV pundits, who deludedly think Rashford is a top performer, based on a few short golden spells over the last 8 seasons, the big spending clubs are going to be far more informed and circumspect in their recruitment.

If PSG were even remotely interested, they would have been watching every minute of this season’s non- performances.
In fact, if they had been doing, they‘ll have almost certainly lost any interest long before now.
Plus, it’s not as if it’s just a recent bad run of form.
There’s plenty of evidence going back a few seasons.

Getting him off the books is going to be a hard sell, particularly on the wages front, whatever hard line clear out the new regime might want to do.
That insane new contract they gave him, has really stuffed us up. FFP not withstanding.

He definitely gets away with poor performances because he's English. It was the same with Rooney when he started to decline. They want them playing well for England so barely criticise them and just hope United play them for however long it takes them to get back into form.

If Martial played the same as Rashford week in and week out, he'd be picked out every post game analysis.

Some of you really think PSG wants him?

I bet my lunch that's just his brother blowing up rumors everytime he sulks
I'd say you're right. I remember him being dropped last year and there were stories in the papers the next morning about a move away. Hopefully the new management aren't conned by this and stop rewarding him.
