Mario Balotelli

Balotelli's issues are to do with football. Ridiculous attitude, terrible work rate and a general cock with an inflated ego. Perfect for Real Madrid in some case.

It's still debatable whether Cassano has "matured" or not.
Well that's exactly why I find this witchhunt against a 19 year old who acts like a cock on the football pitch hideous.

Until I find some real evidence that he is worse than the likes of Adriano, Panucci or Cassano, I won't change my stance.

Mourinho's handling this situation terribly and obviously hasn't helped the situation.

Mancini's handling of him was much better.

He doesn't have to be a party-animal to be a cock.

Quaresma is another example - terrible attitude.

Balotelli has always been restless so I don't know whether Mancini would have been able to handle Balotelli now.
Funnily enough, Quaresma looked to be turning into a really effective team player and professional in his later years at Porto until he was bought by Mourinho for Inter. :smirk:

He's 19. Give him a manager more experienced with bringing through youngsters and his potential will be realised.

Let's be fair, bringing through youngsters has never been one of Mourinho's strong points.

At the end of the day, we shouldn't take much from how someone acts on the football pitch.

Bellamy and Drogba's charity work shows this.

And the rise of Santon came after Mourinho treated Maxwell like shit.

He sure is a double-edged sword, that Mour. :smirk:

It would help if Maxwell was any good at defending, mind you. Santon did do well when introduced and simply displaced Maxwell.

What Balotelli does on the pitch determines how his career goes. Bellamy and Drogba have had solid careers - Balotelli hasn't.
What's Maxwell's defensive deficiencies got to do with this?

The system Mourinho uses utilised the attacking aspects of the full-backs anyway.

Of course he's not had a solid career, he's 19.

If he's handled right, he could be an excellent player and a huge part of the future of Italy's national side.

He's a cock but not a lost cause like what some of you lot are suggesting.

I think he needs a manager to give him the "arm around the shoulder" style man-management, not the open criticism Mourinho's given him.

He has grown up playing the game in Italy of course he is a twat

Although Mourinho uses attacking full-backs Maicon is no slouch in defence and Maxwell was simply poor. Santon sacrifices some attacking flair and his performances are mature for his age. Maxwell simply lost his place to Santon. If that's Mourinho treating him badly then Fergie treated Heinze badly when he lost his place to Evra. Not true at all.

He was the man of the match today, scored a great goal, assisted Milito for the 3rd with an inch perfect cross and nearly scored another with a missile of a free-kick. In the 2nd half he caused a penalty for Udinese with a blatant handball but it was an irrelevant mistake 'cause we won. When Mario plays so well, he really makes the difference. I think Maicon's goal deserves a mention, especially because of the excellent build-up play :

That commentator is so annoying.

Came back into the starting line up for the first time in about 6 games on the weekend against Bologna, might be a coinscidence he appologised for the situation but he put in a good performance scoring and hitting the post.

Hopefully he's put the madness behind him.

I can imagine Wenger would sign someone that emotionally disjointed actually. Given he usually does and ends up having to flog them again a few years later

As long as we don't sign him, I'm happy

I'd say Mourinho's done well to handle him but he really is an enfant terrible.

Mattia Destro (awesome name) from Inter's Primavera was put on hold ahead of Balotelli for Inter's recent match although Destro didn't make the bench (and neither did Balotelli).

Balotelli is an idiot because this is the ideal club for him to develop. Go any higher and he won't get games, go any lower and he'll lose out on Mourinho. Go to Milan and he'll be wasted. Go to Juventus and they'll find some way of messing him up.

A friend of mine is a hardcore Interista (sorry Interista) and reckons that Balotelli should go to England to play for the sake of his career. He cites the mentality that many Italians have of Balotelli being an "outsider" and the increasing xenophobia among the hardcore support in Italy. He said that these factors mixed with Balotelli's personality don't make for the best atmosphere of which to succeed.

I've got no idea about Balotelli's supposed quirks, he just looks like a major talent on the pitch.

That he is but his attitude stinks.

He's young though and i think any side would take the gamble with a talent like him, if he comes good he'll be well worth any risk. I think he can be that good.
I don't know whether you can believe any of this shit so I just ignore it until it becomes apparent that Ferguson/Wenger et al won't sign them. Ben Arfa springs to mind.

Came on as a sub today, looked good I thought almost scored on a free kick. The more I think about I would love to see United sign him this summer I think he could play behind Rooney and really turn into a world class player. I know people will bring up things about his character and stuff like that, but I think he is still very young and SAF could work help him with it. Honestly, his talent is undeniable and I reckon within two years United would have a world class player on their hands that would strike fear into the opposing defenses like Rooney does now.

His attitude stinks.

I could see him turning up to the press conference the day we sign him in a Liverpool shirt.

He wouldnt ever do that, if anything he felt as though Inter turned their backs on him. He is a class player and young and learning, if he signs for United, he will soon be one of United's best and most important players. I see this kid as nothing but world class in 3 years, probably much sooner if given the chance.

He's got amazing potential no doubt, but its no good if you dont have the attitude.

Growing up and aspiring to be a footballer, I was told I needed the 3 'A's, to become the best I can be. Those were Abilty, Application and Attitude. I had two of those, and it wasnt ability. Then I see people like Balotelli and it fecking infuriates me that he has all that ability, but not the attitude and application to fulfil his potential. Call it pathetic and ignore the pun, but I honestly hope he fails in football and ends up as plumber or something. Not happening, but its people like him that need a reality check in their life, so he could realise what he had instead of throwing it all away.

The thing that a lot of people are questioning are his attitude off the pitch, for wearing a Milan shirt which while extremely fecked up, did not affect the way he played. It is not like he is going to the clubs every night and getting bombed out of his mind and going to practice and games drunk. I think a lot of the problems that he has are due to scenery, I think that the grey skies of Manchester would be a good thing for him.

If United get him, he could become the clubs best signing since Rooney

Possibly, although he is known to be a bit of raver from what i've heard. Maybe the grey skies of Manchester would be good for him and he could indeed become a great player, but then how long would it be before he starts dreaming of sunny Madrid?

God, I just hope to feck we do not sell those pricks another one of our players.

Don't think Ferguson would want anything to do with him. I think he's got the potential, it's up to him to take it to the next level.

I know Mourinho is a great manager, but I don't really have much knowledge in his successes in dealing with young players, any thoughts?

I think Fergies gona wait until he proves his class and then pay an inflated fee for him

I saw a player at porto who was as ego-driven in his play as ever, only at the level of the Portugese league he ran the show and could do what he want on the pitch.

Last night he took an amazing free-kick that unfortunately hit the bar , what a pity! Buffon didn't even attempt a save, he stood on the goal line hopeless

Since Balotelli got back (in game vs Bologna) he has played very well and actually deserves even more playing time.

just like ronaldo.

i think he will turn into Babel.

and we dont need Babel.

He is more of a Drogba for me than a Babel. Have you been following him closely to come to that conclusion? Do you not think its insane to write him off already due to his young age?
