Hes a striker playing RW and it means he's not playing to his strengths. Still links well and creates some chances but he's dropping too much to either receive the ball or to defend.
Absolutely this. That cross was better than Ashley Young's last years combined in United. He put one on a plate for Bruno and his defensive contribution was great. Worked hard off the ball and won it back a few times. Far from the worst player out there.
I can't see him being a CF but definitely a SS
Can't necessarily bank upon these numbers in my opinion, but yes, his overall game has not exactly developed this season, for whatever reasons - be them personal or professional. He needs a decent run in the side, and with that will come a semblance of consistency, hopefully.Last season (18 years old)
17 goals in 49 games (~23 starts)
This season (19 years old)
3 goals in 17 games (11 starts)
Not looking good in terms of his development. But young players are expected to be inconsistent.
Thought he was unfairly subbed again.
I get why ole wanted to keep rashford on but it seems whenever a sub needs making its mason who gets hooked no matter what.
Yes but remember last season ever since the break, whenever he starts we are actually expecting him to score goals and win games for us, he was that good. But this season the vibes is gone - we just hope he could develop better, or at least find back his form, and not really expecting him to score goals to win us games. Can't necessarily bank upon these numbers in my opinion, but yes, his overall game has not exactly developed this season, for whatever reasons - be them personal or professional. Can't see any major faults, though.
It's his own fault. After a few incidents, it looks like he's lost his focus a bit. Once he gets back on track, I'm sure his performances will improve as wellNot been the same since he was sent home from England duty.
The press etc... Have heap pressure on him and he looks like the weight is heavy on his shoulders. I actually think a loan move wouldn't be a bad move to get him game time in his best position.
I´m with you guys. He wasn´t spectacular but created something from the very little time and space he had. Tracked back and won it back for us which is refreshing to see. Wolves defend so tight and it´s not easy to get isolated 1v1 or a decent ball behind defense. I would focus on the positives today.Absolutely this. Tons of potential to unlock in this lad.
That is very true. In the weeks after the league resumed, he was unstoppable, and seemed like scoring every time he took a shot. And typing that previous sentence in itself made me realise the weight of expectations that have been set on him.Yes but remember last season ever since the break, whenever he starts we are actually expecting him to score goals and win games for us, he was that good.
