I can imagine the same posters still in this thread a decade from now when he’s in Saudi or Qatar and still clamouring to bring him back.

Are we still into that topic? I thought we were back to talking football in regard to Mason.
I don’t think anyone can really “oh that old thing” about it. They will always come with that baggage so people will need to accept that.

He still is but he's also been very good at beating his full back and putting dangerous balls into the box for Getafe. For us, he shot pretty much every time he bought himself some space. Now, he's much more varied in terms of also looking to pick out his teammates. He really should have a few more assists already because he's created so many chances by doing this.

He’d be a lot better in this team than Rashford.
Yeah but Rashford has never had his partner record him doing what definitely sounded like having sex with her against her will, so I'm not sure putting in a good cross from the other flank really offsets that.

Are you watching at the moment? Rashford has been fine so far. And I'd much rather have a lackadaisical rashford than an alleged woman beating attempted rapist.

Where do you think I said he would do that?

The question was "what would he have to do?"
I don’t think I was replying to you.

I don’t care, I’d be fine with him coming back. And I think most people are. The main issue is that it gives other teams too much of a stick to hit us with.

Few more new heads being raised in this thread that clearly don't care what he did and want him back, because ya know, football is more important than anything else.

His behaviour to his g/f is abhorent but I think many of you focus on that alone and forget he's a knob regardless of that incident.

He was with Foden in the England camp when he booked two escorts whilst on England duty.

He has had regular disciplinary issues with Utd regarding his timekeeping and partying and I very much feel even if the incident we all know about had never occured we would still have a problem with him

Yeah, that would definitely be the main issue!

How? There’s been a poll that completely supported his view.

Isn't it just plain weird how football fans want to watch the best football players play football for the football club, so that the football club is successful at the sport of football! Bizarre stuff.

Congratulations on entirely missing the point.

The poll here? That showed that, of the people who view this thread regularly enough to notice that there was a poll in the relatively short time it was up, between 50% and 60% (right?) would like to see him back. Says nothing about the fanbase as a whole, and you could even argue it doesn't represent the caf.

Where was this poll that completely supported the view that everyone wants him back?

Isn’t it just plain weird how some football fans know the difference from right and wrong, and how some things are more important than football?

Honestly I've never felt more disjointed from Man Utd fans than I have in this thread.

The man threatened to rape a woman at the very least (this does not happen in a vacuum very often). This isn't about second chances and cancel culture and all that nonsense. I don't feel I would comfortably feel happy seeing a man score goals for my club when I've literally heard him threatening to rape a woman.

How are so many seeing past this? Yes he is a very decent player but how does that not destroy any enjoyment? Its confusing and sad to me.

I dont hate him, there are a lot of terrible people on the world and I don't have the energy to dislike them all. I just don't wish to cheer them on weekly.

It shouldn't matter but he isn't even that bloody good.

I find it absolutely disgusting and disturbing that people just want to ignore the context and stick to only his football prowess. It makes me question what else they’d turn a blind eye to in real life

Immaturity is a big driving factor in why young men engage in criminal behaviour more than any other group of people, so I don’t see that as minimising what happened.
You were very clearly trying to minimise his horrendous behaviour and had that rightly called out.

I managed to go through my immature stages without beating and threatening to rape women and I would bet you did too.

Ask an 8 year old if that is wrong and the vast majority will confirm what we all know to he true.

Imagine if he was an actual world class level. They would be arguing his right to commit genocide if he scored a couple of winners.

You were literally quoting me. You highlighted part of my post in bold.
Playing football it does
Playing football for United it doesn't.

The way a lot of you go from 0 to 100 with the hyperbole is quite something  "It makes me question what else they’d turn a blind eye to in real life", "They would be arguing his right to commit genocide if he scored a couple of winners"

I mean there were literally Geordies walking around in full Saudi royalty regalia after the takeover. That's not even something that hasn't already happened.

Football fans have defended genocide when it supports their team being good.

It's half hyperpole but also a degree of truth really.

What about the hyperbole rife in this thread like "we all make mistakes when we are young/he was just immature" and "most people want him back"?

While ignoring all other circumstances surrounding the player? Yes, it is absolutely weird.

Who cares what happens outside football? I mean what's wrong with being a scumbag rapist sex offender or domestic abuser as long as you're scoring goals right?

Some people need to have a long hard look at themselves if football is more important to them they're prepared to turn a blind eye to sexual abuse.

The people calling for Greenwood to come back and play for United should be ashamed of themselves. I would question what else they would be okay with if sexual and domestic abuse is a small price to pay for a few goals at the weekend.

Yep I agree with every word here.

I know it's not representative of the all of the squad members but it's interesting that Bruno has been liking Mason's Instagram posts.
