Pretty much - a year left, guy hasn't played well for a while and he's been injured I don't think anyone at the club genuinely believes anyone will bid 80 especially with the likes of Caicedo potentially on the market. But you'd also be stupid not to start out high and bring the price down, as opposed to start out middling and bring the price down.Spot on. If Chelsea had let it be known he was up for sale at 40 million, they'd be getting bids for 25.
Obviously the danger with originally asking for a very high price is that any potential buyer just fecks off.
At the moment it doesn't seem like Chelsea have much of the power in the sense that it looks for all intents and purposes like Liverpool and Arsenal have moved on, which may have created more of a bidding war for a higher price and we seem to be the only club genuinely interested in him from reports. Considering who he is would you be happy with him gone for between 50-60? Say 55 land in the middle
