One question.

Is Darmian better than Clyne?

If it's too close to call, it seems ridiculous that we wouldn't go for Clyne over Darmian. That said, I read somewhere that Darmian's height could be a massive factor, as he stands at 6ft tall, and it was said that Van Gaal wanted to add more height to the team.
You could throw Darmian at the left back and chances are he would start every match there.

In term of usefulness we couldn't find a better deal especially for that price. According to Milan supporters we're stealing a jewel from the mountain.

What's he even getting at here? Surely he can't be bashing him before he's even played a minute for us?
Pretty sure that's what he's going for. Haven't heard of him = shit = desperation buy from United after missing real targets = will be gone/benched within a couple of seasons.

He will be first choice right back for the next 5 years+, injuries permitting. Castles is a fecking tool.

Information he ascertained using his complex web of contacts no doubt.

He's becoming a parody of himself now.
Question for Duncan: in two seasons time, would you still consider yourself a journalist or will you have given up completely?

No one knows what's going to happen in 2 years, not only right back, but for any position. Maybe someone better will come along, in that case he becomes a backup or is sold.

Yes. I said the same before we were ever linked with Darmian too so it's not post-signing bias.
A number of posters mentioned Darmian as the right type of player for us, but doubted we'd sign him because he was too right, and we never signed players like that. Much the same was said about Schneiderlin.

Maybe the signing of Darmian, followed hopefully by Schneiderlin, marks a change of direction. How great it'd be if we bought quality players, for reasonable fees, in positions we needed to strengthen, for the next few years.

Imagine if we did this after selling Ronaldo, might have won the CL again.

It was Rooney playing on the left for England.

It was all of Rooney, Sturridge and Sterling to be fair. They all switched positions and ended with similar average positions. Whatever the case, none of them put Darmian under any pressure.

Rooney started left with Sterling in the 10 position and Sturridge up top. If there was movement it was because Rooney was doing such a bad job of marking him, was pointed out in commentary how much of a problem area it was for England.

Genuinely happy with this signing if it goes through. He is a very good defender and a decent attacker. He seems have very good positional sense and does not jump into tackles needlessly.

We prefered to sign Gabriel fecking Obertan, Valencia and Michael Owen. We could have won the CL in 2010 without that value bullshit.
If Rafael hadn't been sent off we could have reached the final, also Valencia was insane that season.

It wasn't movement, they actually switched positions. Check the touches on the whoscored chalkboard.

In that clip, there are plenty of examples when the three are in different positions. Of the 3, Sturridge gets closest to Darmian on the wing.

To be fair to him, its a legitimate question, its just coming from the wrong person.
Why is it a legitimate question? Did he raise a similar question about new signings of other clubs? How would anyone know about two years from now? The guy has not even been announced by us and Castles is trying to act like a prick already.

Aye, all of Depay, Schneiderlin and Darmian would be sensible, smart buys in positions we needed to strengthen. Long may that pattern continue.

Great signing for us. A key area that will be strengthened no end.
Next I want two midfielders. Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger.
Next a decent centerback.
Lastly ......the huge shock muppet signing that shocks the world of football. Bale?????? Muller???????? Ronaldo?????????
