Anyone that doesn't think it was right to ban MEN and others from press conferences simply weren't paying attention to the articles they were producing
he is an obnoxious cnut. That Solhekol is a prick.
Should we be? I mean, I agree with the club banning them but do we have to pay attention to Luckhurst and Solhekol?Anyone that doesn't think it was right to ban MEN and others from press conferences simply weren't paying attention to the articles they were producing
This is the reason for the bans, United weren't able to.Seems like a desperate move from United. Don't like what they write? Deal with it, make your arguments against their writings- don't ban the press. Pretty low from the club and i think it will backfire.
Surprised by the massive support this silly move is getting from the fans.
No it's not. That's what I am saying. The club can't just say 'we don't like what you write' because it seems pathetic but that's bascially what's happening.
Thanks for your inputNo it's not.
No they are not. They are publicly traded. And all public and private companies should offer free access to the press. It's football so in general don't a big deal. What if an oil company did this, or a bank or a NGO.
It's blatantly obvious in this thread. The EtH out lot are really telling on themselves in this thread. Imagine siding with poor Journalism...
Wow! What a load of tripe. The desperation of the Ten Hag cultists in this thread is hilarious.
According to them, it’s the duty of the Manchester Evening News, a respectable local media outlet with a proud tradition of independent reporting that is older than Manchester United football club as we know it, to do United’s PR for them. If you want solely positive media coverage of United, MUTV is right there! It specialises in this sort of them.
Accoring to the Ten Hag cultists, a journalist that keeps their sources anonymous is simply making things up and the only way they can be truthful is if they name their sources and expose them to severe career consequences that will essentially make them unemployable.
According to the Ten Hag cultists, it’s a bad thing that journalists are briefed that squad morale is at all time low but it is totally fine that journalists are briefed character assasinations on players that have been victims of an abuse of power by this egotistical control-freak of a manager. They perfectly happy to accept the briefings they like as factual, but they cast doubt on the credibility of those that go against their agenda.
Is it not the duty of us, as fans, to know both the good and bad that is happening at United internally? Or would you rather have your heads buried in the sand without an explanation as to why we have been so awful.
An honest question to the Ten Hag cultists. Who is your first loyalty to? Is it to Manchester United, the club that has brought you happiness for decades? Or to a manager that is treating OUR club like his personal little dictatorship? Why should we allow him to drag our reputation and standards through the mud with his illogical tactical decisions and shambolic squad management?
Because the players are to blame? We’re all with you on that one. They aren’t good enough. But isn’t it the manager’s job to keep them onboard and coach them to success?
Or should we accept Ten Hag disrespecting this club by treating it like his dictatorship because “there is no alternative” and “we need to end this cycle of hiring and firing”? By this logic, managers from Moyes to Ole should not have been fired.
Please use your logic, rationality and common sense and put the interests of United first. Ten Hag’s persistence with the same disgusting tactics with the same repeated flaws have shown us enough that he cannot be trusted and his position is untenable.
If this mutiny is necessary in order to accelerate his sacking then sobeit. The season is already a write off with this manager and we should start preparing for the next one without him.
Something that could only be written by someone in the industry. If journalists from reputed media outlets publish something, I tend to believe it unless I have good reason not to. Might be because I work in the media as well.
A club denying things doesn"t mean anything in stories like this that deal with opinions of players and staff members as the club wouldn't start questioning them all. And even if it does, it wouldn't know what they actually think.
They are even worse with individual players/managers. Look at some of the abuse managers have taken in the past, Turnip Taylor springs to mind. The English press are a bunch of rats and always have been not just to us.
I am Irish and always found it incredible how running up to major tournaments etc they would build up your national team and convince the country they are going to win it but then they would run a hate campaign against players when they fail.
when England were put out by Iceland in the euros The Suns front page was Kai Rooney crying. If any of us took photos of a random kid we would probably be arrested. They have no morals whatsoever.
Absolutely thisTo be honest I’d go as far as to say if you’d rather side with the press in this debate, you aren’t a proper Utd fan. Get behind the club for Christ sake.
Oh, bloody hell. Am I allowed to have an opinion or should I automatically get behind United? To be honest I’d go as far as to say if you’d rather side with the press in this debate, you aren’t a proper Utd fan. Get behind the club for Christ sake.
So ETH is a dictator? What a load of nonsense. He’s a manager who is at long last trying to put some long forgotten standards in place at Manchester United. We should commend his efforts on that front not call him a dictatorThe desperation of the Ten Hag cultists in this thread is hilarious.

Back to pussy mode then.It was just for that one presser unfortunately it seems

@mikeytBack to pussy mode then.
Ya I agree and it has given them a fair warning. But personally, I would have liked the ban to be for couple more pressers.@mikeyt
Hardly. It's the right move: it's shown all the pretenders that they can be put on a leash after all, it must have been pretty humiliating for Kaveh and friends. It means that if they fail to behave we can do it again, stop them stirring QUITE so much shit.
Unfortunately for us they can stir the pot whether they are invited to pressers or not, so a permanent ban does nothing for man Utd. If they want to stir they can stir. The threat of FUTURE bans, on the other hand, allow us to remind people that no, a lot of these media figures really do make all the shit they write up, and puts the club on the high ground if and when they do so.
Just hearing it confirmed, they've allowed them back but have now banned @THE ZOL
Totally agree mate. I am from the States, and I think our media can be rough in sports, Nothing like English press. The English press are a bunch of rats and always have been not just to us.
I am Irish and always found it incredible how running up to major tournaments etc they would build up your national team and convince the country they are going to win it but then they would run a hate campaign against players when they fail.

They might just be loitering in the car park.
They would have to do something extreme to be permanently banned. While Fergie was known to ban some journalists for months or even years I think there was only one that was banned on a permanent basis and that was Daniel Taylor because he refused to write an apology letter.I'd like to see us ban most of the journo's permanently to be honest. There are very few that are actually credible these days and some of the arrogant pricks out there could do with being put down a peg or two.
You might want to take a look at the state of reporting in the social media age. The MEN, like most traditional press, has become unrecognizable from the likes of buzzfeed etc. Their business model is entirely based on driving clicks and the best and most surefire way to do that is through negative coverage of United because that not only attracts supporters but a global audience of fans of other clubs who love to revel in our misery. The concept of fact checking stories and verifying sources has completely fallen by the wayside and the notion of offering the club the chance to respond to or dispute their articles is ignored for the very reason that they know 99% of what they publish is horseshit and could be irrefutably proven false by the club thereby leaving them with nothing to print unless they want to risk legal action for printing lies after they have been given the proof their story is false.
FYI, I am no ETH ******* and I lean strongly towards the view that he is out of his depth and difficult as it will be we probably will need to take another shot at finding the right guy.
It's hilarious if what you're saying is true, but:The desperation of the Ten Hag cultists in this thread is hilarious.
Who actually said this? Because the ban wasn't because of negative reporting, but because of reporting without allowing United a response, and that's what people have kept on repeating in this thread in response to anyone suggesting United is just trying to silence its critics.According to them, it’s the duty of the Manchester Evening News, a respectable local media outlet with a proud tradition of independent reporting that is older than Manchester United football club as we know it, to do United’s PR for them. If you want solely positive media coverage of United, MUTV is right there! It specialises in this sort of them.
And this is a constant line of comment that you saw where? Cause I haven't. Sure, people have commented on stories being vague and on it appearing that individual players are trying to promote their agendas through media leaks - but that's not the same.Accoring to the Ten Hag cultists, a journalist that keeps their sources anonymous is simply making things up and the only way they can be truthful is if they name their sources and expose them to severe career consequences that will essentially make them unemployable.
Same, who said this? And if there is such a thing as a 'Ten Hag *******', then what's the word for someone who accuses Ten Hag of being an egotistical control-freak that absus his power?According to the Ten Hag cultists, it’s a bad thing that journalists are briefed that squad morale is at all time low but it is totally fine that journalists are briefed character assasinations on players that have been victims of an abuse of power by this egotistical control-freak of a manager. They perfectly happy to accept the briefings they like as factual, but they cast doubt on the credibility of those that go against their agenda.
Who has been asking for no news and no explanations? Has anyone even denied that United had a troublesome start to the season and that Ten Hag is at least in part (if not completely, depending on the poster) to blame for that?Is it not the duty of us, as fans, to know both the good and bad that is happening at United internally? Or would you rather have your heads buried in the sand without an explanation as to why we have been so awful.
I am not sure where this choice is coming from. It's the club that banned the journalists, not Ten Hag. So what do you get when you choose the club? Still a ban of journalists, a head-in-the-sand attitude, and everything else you accused people of above? An honest question to the Ten Hag cultists. Who is your first loyalty to? Is it to Manchester United, the club that has brought you happiness for decades? Or to a manager that is treating OUR club like his personal little dictatorship? Why should we allow him to drag our reputation and standards through the mud with his illogical tactical decisions and shambolic squad management?
'Disgusting tactics' is particularly interesting after the Chelsea match. By all evidence, as much as it was nowhere near perfect, that sort of football is what Ten Hag is trying to build towards. What's disgusting about it exactly? Please use your logic, rationality and common sense and put the interests of United first. Ten Hag’s persistence with the same disgusting tactics with the same repeated flaws have shown us enough that he cannot be trusted and his position is untenable.
What mutiny was that again? The one that was on display on the pitch against Chelsea I suppose? If this mutiny is necessary in order to accelerate his sacking then sobeit. The season is already a write off with this manager and we should start preparing for the next one without him.
Our HagerTeN hAG cUlTisTS
All of our post-Moyes managers have tried to put standards in place. Even Ole tried the whole cultural reboot thing, Ralf came with the “open heart surgery” talk. LvG and Jose also came with strict standards and were quite ruthless about trying to get rid of those who they didn’t rate.So ETH is a dictator? What a load of nonsense. He’s a manager who is at long last trying to put some long forgotten standards in place at Manchester United. We should commend his efforts on that front not call him a dictator
Very constructive contributionfecking weirdo post.
Yep. They told me I don’t need to get answers from the horse’s mouth as his cultists will do his speaking for himJust hearing it confirmed, they've allowed them back but have now banned @THE ZOL
Let’s approach this one by one. It's hilarious if what you're saying is true, but:
Who actually said this? Because the ban wasn't because of negative reporting, but because of reporting without allowing United a response, and that's what people have kept on repeating in this thread in response to anyone suggesting United is just trying to silence its critics.
And this is a constant line of comment that you saw where? Cause I haven't. Sure, people have commented on stories being vague and on it appearing that individual players are trying to promote their agendas through media leaks - but that's not the same.
It does appear, btw, by main players' interview this week that the stories of a deep dressing room rift/crisis/whatever were indeed vastly exaggerated, if not simply untrue.
Same, who said this? And if there is such a thing as a 'Ten Hag *******', then what's the word for someone who accuses Ten Hag of being an egotistical control-freak that absus his power?
Who has been asking for no news and no explanations? Has anyone even denied that United had a troublesome start to the season and that Ten Hag is at least in part (if not completely, depending on the poster) to blame for that?

Of course, your perspective appears to be that everything that happens at the club is Ten Hag's decision - or otherwise your 'his personal little dictatorship', and indeed most of your post, makes no sense. But where's the evidence for that? For example, was Ten Hag lying when he told the press that it was the club's decision to ban those journalists?
'Disgusting tactics' is particularly interesting after the Chelsea match. By all evidence, as much as it was nowhere near perfect, that sort of football is what Ten Hag is trying to build towards. What's disgusting about it exactly?
What mutiny was that again? The one that was on display on the pitch against Chelsea I suppose?
Over to you.
