I always hoped that Kojima would remake MG1 and MG2, and then release it as MGS6 to complete the Metal Gear timeline fully in ‘Solid’ aka 3D form.

I do wonder how this kind of remake will go, since Kojima loves his little easter eggs and hidden mechanics that seemingly only he can pull off, not to mention the memeable dialogue at times (I need scissors! 61!)

From here to there
its take more skill to sneak around without killing anyone.
And I say, fair play and all the best to those who enjoy that.

I've not even got the patience to sit through a cut scene these days, let alone 8 minutes inside a box waiting for the pathing of 3 guards and a dog to perfectly align so I can run to the next area and hide in a bush

Have you played MGS 5 ?

Once you get passed the opening mission(which includes a lot of sneaking and cut scenes)you can pretty much go full Rambo on most missions.

I’m excited for this but with caution. Konami don’t fill me with much confidence after how badly they ruined PES/eFootball.

Hoping this is great though as I loved the MGS games.
Konami aren't developing this though are they?

The End sniper battle could be glorious in a huge, dense, next-gen forest.

Wonder if you'll still be able to change the date on your PS5 and have him die of old age?

Hmmm maybe i'm being harsh but to me some areas of those screenshots look nice and some look a bit ropey (pun absolutely intended, but my point refers to a lot of the assets, not just the rope bridge).

The jungle lighting obviously looks great, god rays in particular.

For any other game this would be bad but MGSV controls like a dream

There's a reason that MGS V has the best gameplay in the series- it handles beautifully. Obviously Big Boss won't be able to run as fast as that's game's Boss but i'm very fine with that if they're otherwise identical.

MGS3 is one of the best games ever made. But I remain skeptical of them screwing this up.

I loved Phantom Pain until you had to basically repeat the first half but harder to complete the game. I love the stealth element of it

I despise everything about MGSV. But the controls and just running around doing missions, tranqing and recruiting soldiers was addictive I'll admit. Wonder how this plays out for battles like the End

Yep agree.

That’s the genius of Kojima showing the player the endless cycle of violence that is war or…….it’s because Konami forcing to him clean toilets thus making it impossible for him to finish the game.

I spent hours just creeping around enemy bases, tranquilising soldiers and then Fulton recovering them. Clearing a base like that without getting caught was solid, and took ages, but I liked that.

Same with animals, send them flying into the air on a sky hook, especially the bears, hilarious

Just finished MGS3 again. I do think MGS1 and 3 are really well paced games despite the obvious lengthy cutscenes. Not many gameplay segments outstay their welcome and the only one i hate with a passion is escorting Eva through the jungle at the end, which is infuriating if you're trying for a no alerts/extreme playthrough.

I wonder if they'll add anything to the remake or expand a few areas?
