I didn't understand that at all.
I don’t really get it? Why are they inventing Twitter accounts?
Some Feyenoord coach said Lego's training methods suck. So Arsenal set up fake twitter accounts and ask fabricated questions for their Q&A so that Lego and his PR team can hit back at the Feyenoord coach.I didn't understand that at all.
Pathetic. Some Feyenoord coach said Lego's training methods suck. So Arsenal set up fake twitter accounts and ask fabricated questions for their Q&A so that Lego and his PR team can hit back at the Feyenoord coach.
University of Leeds. Might have known.Tweet

This is crazy.
Wasn't there a single legit question (from an actual fan) being asked in the Q & A that could have served the same purpose?

Probably true, yeah.Wouldn't be surprised if they saw that tweet then looked at their profile and thought it might be a bit much for them to advertise with the political nature of the account so they they made their own up.
Does he ? Reading the forum lately we should be lucky to avoid relegation with a 50M defender that can't jump or head a ball, a laughing stock at GK, Auba counting his money and a bunch of unknown kids thrown around them that would not get a spot at Villa or West Ham.Safe to say Arteta has a better team and squad at his disposal than Koeman has at Barca.
So you agree with the way "this forum" characterizes your players, then?Does he ? Barca still have a top 5 GK in the world, DeJong, Pedri, Depay + Aguero-Dembele injured.
I think he will keep his job until January at least and get one last transfer window.
This 'treatment' of Arteta really seems to wind people up doesn't it? Was thinking about our situation on the Barca thread. The Barca fans in general realise its a mess that's going to take a few years to sort & the realisation has dawned on them & they seem OK with that, but a lot of comments from rival fans saying even though they are a mess Barca should never be seen to be just playing for top 4 etc, & a lot mirroring the comments on our thread. Opposing fans seem more upset that fans don't demand instant success straight away.Fans being enraged the media isn't "going hard enough" on managers will never not be funny
On a Utd forum, considering the way Ole has been treated by the media vs how Arteta has been, it makes perfect sense. Also, I think labelling it "not going in hard enough" is disingenuous - I think a more balanced and fair assessment of his work would be appreciated. From the beginning there has been a strong positive bias for him, which can't really be explained, nor backed up by his work since he's taken over. I think it's rather understandable that people are surprised about how great media he gets for seemingly very poor work. It's like if I were getting plaudits in my job for shitty work - I can understand that people would raise an eyebrow at it.This 'treatment' of Arteta really seems to wind people up doesn't it?
A big difference for me is demand & expectation. You guys tell us enough, you are 1 of the top 3 biggest clubs in the world, top 3 revenues, most successful club in England. The winning machine under Fergie is still fresh in everyone's memory, you just resigned a player that was a part of that.On a Utd forum, considering the way Ole has been treated by the media vs how Arteta has been, it makes perfect sense. That has nothing to do with the point that was being discussed though, and with the apparent love-in from the media and certain outlets specifically. But whatever, if you think he's being treated on an equal footing with his peers, cool.A big difference for me is demand & expectation. As much as I loved Wenger, he won us trophies, sculpted some very good teams, made us the modern club we are today, we were never a winning machine under him. The last league title was nearly 20 years ago, the fall away has been over a longer length of time.
Arteta is under pressure, & that's from the fans. Even if like you think, the media don't pile in on him, unless results get better, the fans certainly will, thats for sure, & no nicely spun PR will save him from that.
Things like this annoy me because of how media analysis and thus the tone of how things are reported, which, like it or not, is very loud and responsible for a lot of what we see and hear around us, is skewed in terms of players versus managers. This 'treatment' of Arteta really seems to wind people up doesn't it? It was moronic behavior from the media. On a Utd forum, considering the way Ole has been treated by the media vs how Arteta has been, it makes perfect sense. From what I’ve seen, it winds up the fans on Arsenal Mania too tbf. They have a particular issue with the Athletic’s weirdly positive spin on everything Arteta does. This 'treatment' of Arteta really seems to wind people up doesn't it? The thing is, it doesn't matter how glowing the media is about him. If he doesn't improve results soon, he'll be walked out his office. From what I’ve seen, it winds up the fans on Arsenal Mania too tbf. Im not saying he's treated on an equal footing, it just doesn't annoy me as much as it seems to annoy people in here. I don't particularly pay that much attention to the press that Ole gets, or anyone else for that matter, to the extent I need to comment on it all the time anyway. That has nothing to do with the point that was being discussed though, and with the apparent love-in from the media and certain outlets specifically. Have Barcelona not spent more money than most clubs in football like previously? Barca is unique in the fact that they have sanctions they need to abide by just now, but when able to they will still spend a lot to get themselves better. What's not unique is that Barcelona got themselves into a poor situation by spending a lot of money, & spending it poorly. Arsenal have done likewise & find themselves in a poor position.Barcelona is a unique situation in that they’re broke and in considerable debt. Their situation isn’t due to sporting reason. Any club that was in that position their fans would be understanding that it will take time to get back to the top. The situation isn’t comparable with Arsenal. You guys have spent more money than most clubs in football.
I’m not disputing that as I haven’t actually read the coverage in question. Was just pointing out that it’s not just United fans or oppos who have an issue with how Arteta seems to get a lot of protection in the media. The thing is, it doesn't matter how glowing the media is about him. If he doesn't improve results soon, he'll be walked out his office.
That being said, results don't 100% correlate to what's going on behind the scenes. And the Athletic are well within their rights to provide more context.
The treatment of Arteta by the media is just as moronic, just differently. It's not nuanced, balanced or understanding, it's totally bias while not taking into consideration the reality of what he is doing. It was moronic behavior from the media.
That doesn't mean it should be how they treat other managers as well.
In general I think a more nuanced, balanced and understanding perspective of the difficulties managers face in the sport is a better approach from the media than the usual crap from them. And it should be applied to Ole as much as it should be applied to Arteta.
90 % because he worked with Pep, 10 % because he didn't lose his hair in the process. It's 90% because he's handsome, 10% because he worked with Pep, let's be honest.
Fair. I actually remember some on here furious at positive Ole coverage during one of our rutsI’m not disputing that as I haven’t actually read the coverage in question. Was just pointing out that it’s not just United fans or oppos who have an issue with how Arteta seems to get a lot of protection in the media.
That’s absolutely splendid news. 3 wins on the bounce, that will keep Lego Pep in the job until the end of the season. The climb up the table is on!
Yeah, applies to whoever the fans dislike at the moment I guess. A while back there was some fury that how pundits wouldn’t criticise Rashford. Before that there was Rooney. And etc.Fair. I actually remember some on here furious at positive Ole coverage during one of our ruts
Arsenal Mania seems mainly Arteta Out already from the little I've seen, so many are agenda driven already. However, I do agree about The Athletic in particular, it does seem very pro Arteta. From what I’ve seen, it winds up the fans on Arsenal Mania too tbf. My post was slightly tongue in cheek, but 3 wins in the bounce certainly beats 3 defeats on the bounce, so I'll take that I suppose. That’s absolutely splendid news. 3 wins on the bounce, that will keep Lego Pep in the job until the end of the season.
