A lot of things are wrong with this team, really I don't know how to turn it around. We have no plan after Kagawa left it seems.
Formation is part of the problem but our ability to control the ball and pass is pretty shocking, even from a reserve team

my only concern is that im still to see Van Gaal actually rise from his seat!

I miss the old Fergie standing on the touchline pointing to his watch shouting at the lads!

Chicharito - He simply does not have the touch play needed to perform in this system.
Welbeck - Looked bright until all the shite passes started
Januzaj - I think people will now understand why Mata looks sedated. His position depends on good passing.

    Anderson - He's really trying.
Powell - Sometimes looks good. Sometimes looks like he can't be arsed to position himself.
Janko - He's doing alright, but not making the right passes to move forward.
James - Getting bogged down by the really untidy passing in the middle of the park.
Vermeijl - Comfortable on the ball. He's done not much wrong.
Evans - Atrocious pass. Been generally poor.
Keane - Looks uncomfortable on the ball and is afraid of moving forward with the ball today.
De Gea - Must be wondering what these shite motherfeckers are doing playing for United

WE NEED - Wilson to come on for Chicha and instantly improve everything.

Hey you reprobates, at least try to look at the bright side. If MK Dons get the win today, it will be greatest win in the club's history!

There's something deeply wrong with the entire squad. We've gone from swaggering to cowering in 3 years. It appears to be contagious too because it impacts the new boys too.
LVG needs to find a cure and fast

Too deep.....Players in areas of the field they don't want to be and the full backs are being asked to do everything.Shouldn't we at least try a system that has pace and can fit both Di maria and Januzaj. We are slow and predictable and we need to change. How about bringing Zaha on and play him and Januzaj either side of Welbeck.

Fully expect LVG to change the formation to 433 or 442 in second half. If he cannot see that 352 doesnt work against weak teams which blunts our attacking chances then he is David Moyes mach 2.

Apart from that one shot off the outside of his boot, all he has done is give the ball away. Welbeck easily our best player so far, and that's not saying very fecking much.
He's played couple of good balls. Had few interceptions as well.

Yeah. he's had 3/4 bad touches but he certainly hasn't been bad. Decent.

We have ALWAYS played better with wingers.

from 1908 to 2013, we've played with them.

Long time reader, time to get involved,

The issue we have is a huge gap between midfield and the 3 centre backs, every time the ball goes back the midfield is too far from the defence, they past back to Dave who attempts to pick out someone, yet they aren't forward enough to really do anything either.

The 3-5-2 needs to be ditched if we aren't going to buy a proper deep lying playmaker to move the ball from back to front, at the moment it is too static and the front players keep dropping to get involved, no one to then through ball it too, and with our wide players coming from deep, easily picked up with no one in front to pull defenders out of position......arghhhhh

    And breathe

Hopefully di maria signals a switch to 4-3-3 or something , we still desperately need a central midfielder

With this 3-5-2, you really do notice the missing player in midfield/attack. Powell and Anderson seem to be playing as if we're down to 10 men. It always looks like we are short of options on who to give the ball to.

I don't think a full strength team would be doing any better. This shape just looks so easy to play against.

It's not even half time, our oldest player is 26 and there are number of players whose appearances are in single digits.
    No excuse.

We've got senior heads out there, with young players who are fighting for their futures. Losing to MK Dons is unacceptable for any Man United.

Have a word with yourself, half of these players haven't played a first team game this season.
I'm torn. On the one hand, we should be beating a League One side, even with our "squad players", pure and simple. On the other, we've lost to lower division teams in this cup even in our glory years, like 06/07 & 07/08.

There's no midfield enforcer for Utd out there and the players are being beat to most of the 2nd balls by the MK Dons players. Hernandez is trying too hard and he should keep it simple as he's giving up possession far too easily. As soon as the ball enters the midfield area, the MK Dons players are pressing and Utd loses possession.

Alli is having a great game.

Let's see the composition of this team:

    • All but one player from the first team starting 11
    • Mostly young, inexperienced players
    • The veterans are "fringe" players
    • The 3-5-2 system is obviously foreign and the players struggle with basic things such as positioning

Compare this to MK Dons, who I am sure is going out with their most familiar formation and most, if not all, of their first team. Is it a wonder we are struggling? Absolutely not. Change is much needed at half time.
There is no excuse for United to lose to a league one side. If this was happening to Liverpool we would be laughing.

As suspected initially, that is terrible keeping. No need to charge out like that with a defender there and a narrow angle.

Started off so brightly I was expecting a comfortable game. Turned into an awful performance. Exactly the same that we saw in the previous two games and last season. I thought with a lot of younger players we'd see a bit more desire, hasn't been the case. Awful mistake by Evans, disappointing as he is our most experienced defender. Hernandez and Powell have been very poor imo and in danger of coming off soon.

ZERO confidence in possession. getting pressed by MK DONS and giving the ball up like they are barca in their prime!!
    1. why is hernandez playing?
    2. why is januzaj playing so deep? he should be where he can cause maximum damage that is playing next to welbeck

    ridiculous stuff from van gaal
