Best episode so far.

I wish they would reveal where Elliot is & why he's there. The FBI getting shot at was unexpected.

Wonder what the DC operation is?

I think against all views about him being in mental asylum, he simply might just be in his old house with his mom.

Is his mom alive?

I still think he's in an asylum/prison. The size of his room, the same routine, the 'big dog' & his muscle, the way people visit him & they all sit in the same places, the basketball court, the lack of women there, he has no laptop - it just seems too obvious for them to be dragging it out & then making this the major twist for the season.

Assuming the above is right, I hope when they do reveal it, it's not silly & there is some intelligence behind it.

So is Ray like a corrupt warden from Shawshank and his hitman Mr. Hadlee?

 possibly! I just can't see how he's somewhere where he has freedom given what we've seen from his character so far.

Finally caught up on the last two episodes. Im surprised a lot of people arent liking s2 so far.
Im loving it.

The Asylum / Prison theory still would make sense given what weve seen (and it would make sense if it wasnt correct).

I do wonder whats happening / happened to Tyrell.

I'm still loving it too. Think it's definitely picked up in the last few though, started season 2 a bit slowly.

Once again a shit episode. It is trying to be too cool for it's own good.

Reminded me a lot of Sopranos when Tony was in a coma.... Unnecessary for me and the producer trying to be a bit too creative/dreamy for my taste

Its dipped from season 1 but still enjoyable and i still have the urge to watch the rest

I haven't watched since the first episode of the second season. Is it shit? I feel no desire to watch it.

I've liked this season so far but wow, that episode was really poor. The opening especially

General opinion is it's been crap.

I've enjoyed it though, bar the latest episode. Saying that it's still a decline from season 1.

General opinion on this forum is its crap. Critics seem to be enjoying it on the whole based on TV reviews online.
Fans seem to have been mixed on it (ive seen a lot say its better than s1, and a lot saying nothing is happening)

Ive enjoyed this season so far. Its not been conventional but its been intriguing.

For the last epi, I think the sitcom part lasted long but it served a purpose. It was still a decent episode.

What is the general opinion on season 2 so far? Without spoilers.

It's departing from the first season, maybe more than people expected. There is not as much connection between the characters/storylines as when many of them worked at Allsafe. Elliott's storyline feels pretty stagnant and his character hasn't really developed beyond what we already know. "Crazy Elliott" is pretty much a permanent condition with the same big-eyed facial expression at all times. Most of the action runs through his sister Darlene and the actress who plays her is doing a very solid job.

The creativity is still there, the show seems to have license to do whatever it wants in terms of running time, splitting episodes, strange flashbacks, and parodies. It's starting to feel a little unfocused but I'm sure they'll fuse those different threads back together with some kind of twist or reveal.

It may not be what we expected but I enjoy the artistic approach.

I can see why people are disappointed by season 2 but I think this show is absolutely brilliant.

Not sure why say Elliott hasn't developed when this entire season has been based on the power struggle between Elliott & Mr. Robot. @Americano

@Runner maybe because for me that struggle hasn't really advanced. It's just holding steady. And moreso for the way the struggle is written and depicted, it is starting to feel more corny and forced.

We need to see more of Elliott's dimension, what else drives him in life, what other relationships does he have. We need a reason to care about him and worry about what happens to him.

@Americano I want to be objective but it's hard because of how much I love this show. It just resonates with me for some reason. Overall fair points you've raised.

I think we are learning a little what drives him. For example from this episode we've learnt that he still values family, his guilt for the death of Gideon, his worry for Tyrell. I care about him as the protagonist who is in eminent physical danger and his relationship with his Master; being the gang who've imprisoned him or Mr. Robot?

Also the Mr Robot area isnt trying to take him over but moreso, help him out (eg mask him from the beating). Be sympathetic with him.

Saying that, the asylum / prison theory still holds up given what weve seen so far.

It does, but didn't Darlene ask him why he is "at that place" or am I misremembering? Which would point to him being wherever he is of his own volition. I also find it strange that he's only seen his therapist one (two?) time in the time frame we've seen so far. Would assume that if he's institutionalized, he would be spending some more time with her.

So far i liked season 1 more. Season two is much more psychological and weird, some people might find it brilliant and even better, but i prefer the directness of season 1. Just my personal impression, others might see it differently. :smirk: Still, i'm watching, so it can't be that bad, mhh. :)

Well that was a pretty underwhelming reveal in my opinion.

What was Ray's role in the prison, warden?

Glad he's getting out, though. Having him meet up with White Rose should get the story going. And hopefully they'll let us know why he was put in prison.

Slow start to the season. Second episode is better than the first.

he's clearly in some prison or mental asylum. Wonder how long it will be before they reveal it.

Called it after week 1.

Poor episode. 7 episodes in and I really am not interested in what is happening, whereas in season 1 I was hooked after the first episode.

Hopefully with him getting out things will get interesting. Meeting white rose should be good, obviously they have plans for him. Would like to know why he was in prison to begin with.

I've just got round to starting episode 4 after not really feeling much urge to carry on. I feel like they've fecked up what started as a great show.

They've made it too complicated and self-indulgent. It was always complex and a little trippy but they've taken it too far.

Huge reveal & some did call it after the first episode.
Lots of things open, still six episodes to go. Not liking Angela's story though.

Season Two on its way to beat the First, IMO.

Im liking this season more than the first. I have no problems with the reveal. Its pretty much like s1, people guessed it, so when it happened, it was "expected" or "underwhelming". I have no issues with how they did it.
I do agree though, not sure what Rays role was in it. (Given he goes around with a dog, can get Elliot computer access, he has to be a warden)

Joey badass is badass though.

S2E6 is fecking weird and fecking awful.

For reference, it's where it starts with him seeing everything as some kind of sitcom with canned laughter. I'm just over 10 minutes in and hoping it's coming to an end very soon.

Literally spent the whole sequence thinking 'wtf is this shit'.

This forum is certainly different to other places I visit. I think this is the only place ive seen not liking s2 of the show.

I don't know, I didn't really feel that overall arc sans "Mr. Robot" was interesting enough to carry an entire episode.

Probably just me, but I feel like having to wait a week between each episode is absolutely killing this season for me. I sort of fall out of touch with with the story and characters, and lose important details, which lessens the experience. Really regret not waiting and just going through it over a weekend, as it probably would've been much more interesting that way.

Best episode this season. It went back to what made season 1 so good with the hacking, tension & the fear they're closing in on you.

I think fat dude set the Muslim girl up & the FBI will arrest her. I'm guessing Elliot will be involved in this 'stage 2' plan somehow.

Season two has been one of the biggest drops in quality i have ever seen on television. I can't really come up with any show to compare it with, as the show has gone from great to a cringeworthy mess in literally no time. Pull the plug already.

Dexter springs to mind. From the heights of season 4 to the shambles it became :(

I think there is a definite drop-off but it's not so bad they should cancel it. Episode 8 proves they can still make it interesting when they get back to the basics.

Im actually enjoying this season, and im glad im not the only one (there is more negativity here than most places I visit). The reviews for the show remain strong. The ratings arent strong but have never been, but the show still picks up accolades which is great. And it seems USA network dont care about ratings for this as its one of their top shows and already renewed for s3.

I do think it was one of the best episodes theye done. Was bold to not have Elliot / Mr Robot at all but it worked given the reveal last week (And thus downtime away from his character).

Pull the plug already.

Hahaha, what?
