So when will Nasri come out with the 'more fans in Manchester' line.

I predict by about 7 pm.

Makes our selection problems look easy, except we don't have a load of overpaid prima donas on the bench...

He will now battle it out with the likes of David Silva, Adam Johnson, Yaya Toure, James Milner, Gareth Barry and Nigel De Jong for a place in the starting line-up.

I can't wait for the fun to start when these high prices whores get left on the bench and begin their bitching and moaning.

They already employ 2holding players. I doubt they need more cbs that badly. When Toure returns or Svaic inevitably kicks out Lescott they will be formidable at the back.
I don't know whos better between Lescott and Toure. Both are very overrated. Lescott has the advantage of having a fully functioning body, whereas Toure isn't a headless chicken.

I sometimes forget how lucky we are to have lived through such a period of dominance by one club in England. If you'd come to me in 1992 when we pissed the league away at the end and told me what would happen over the next 20 or so years I'd have taken six months to stop laughing at you.

It won't be recognised for what it is until it stops... problem is, I'm greedy now and I don't want it to ever stop. That is what Fergie has done for us.
I honestly don't know how I'll react when this period of dominance inevitably ends. Weeks and weeks of uncontrollable weeping I would assume...

Looks chuffed to bits :houllier: Only cracks a smile when he see's Patrick... Who seems to have a new 9-5 office job at Citeh

The assistant at the end is a bit ... even if she is working for those blue c**ts!!
Apparently they made up a position for him: "Football Development Executive"

New pointless role for Patrick Vieira at Massive Citeh FC

I was never too bothered about signing Sneijder but for whatever reason seeing Nasri sign for City today makes me really not want to sign him! Don't know why, must be based on the soul-less galactico thing whereby they are packed with an assembly of hugely expensive foreign stars who know nothing of the club's history, but it makes me appreciate even more the work we do in developing young talent in the United traditions.

It's hard to put my finger on as I know we also spend big money sometimes and that we also have foreigners here, but I don't really want a big expensive signing like Sneijder. If we can pick up another talented youngster with potential and something to prove, even if they're relatively expensive such as Jones or De Gea, I'd much rather that than to buy our rivals' best players.

Where do City stop though? They are on a mission and surely at some point if they think they can realistically win the champions league (next summer?) they will pursue Messi. They are willing to throw around so much money, if they went in with £200 million and offered him £400k per week would they get him?

he looks like a 14 year old schoolboy who is being escorted to the headmaster's office after he was caught copying during an exam

You might not think that if City win the league :)

I hate having to do it but I'm sticking up for City a bit. The wages they pay are astronomical and probably inflate the market buit their additions this year have been astute rather than the scattergun approach of other seasons.

I expected them to make more signings this summer than they have, but they've simply added quality in preperation for the CL and a tough season ahead.

Nasri is a top player, and provides an option - because they look very reliant on Silva - he's the heartbeat of the side at the moment. Nasri takes the pressure off them in that regard and provides an option on the left.

Aguero will replace Tevez when they can finally ship him out and with Dzeko looking like he's got a bit of confidence they're well stocked.

Whether they can ever compete for Barca and Madrid's top stars depends how succesful they are in the future I suppose, but the very best players are already on enormous wages so any move might be negligable.

Nasri: "In the three minutes I spent at Manchester Airport, I noticed that everybody in the world was wearing a City shirt, including the official Poznan Dog. Oh, who am I f*cking kidding? Please call me, Sir Alex!"

Nasri is a brilliant signing for them and they have to be taken seriously as it is only a matter of when, not if they'll win the league. As much faith as I have in United and despite our fantastic start it is going to be very tough this year. We can only really hope their defence continues to be uninspiring, but they have so much goal threat now, and even getting the ball off them won't be easy.

City just have so much talent at their disposal now and their signings from last season seem to have settled, Nasri should settle fairly quickly and even Aguero looks to have hit the ground running. And I agree they've picked up some very good players. I just don't like the policy. It's easy to sit and be smug and judgemental when we've got two of our academy products producing star turns just now and being flanked by some excellent other young players we bought when they were teenagers, but City used to have such a good youth system not too long ago and now theirs is probably going to be even worse than Chelsea's for stifling talent. I really do think they'll go after Messi or Ronaldo next year to have a jewel in the crown.

I am more comfortable with how we are doing things in trying to make stars rather than buy them, but then I probably sound like an Arsenal fan from 2 years ago!

This is a bad day for football.

If Mancini cannot win the league with the spending he has done, he ought to stick to selling hair products.

He was clearly delaying the move hoping someone else came in for him. Has it been explained why he wanted out of Arsenal yet?
