I've been saying this for a while now. Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux are excellent and rarely annoying. Informative and funny. Arlo White is probably the best commentator out there. Very impressive. An American network with the best football coverage! Who knew?

Pretty sure I watched this stream today and they had ads popping up in the top left hand corner of the screen during the match?
They show ads on the scoreboard in the top left but they don't have any breaks in the action where they switch to 30 second ads.

I'd be cautious with this. Most major sites have figured out how to block VPNs now. If they do the same you'll be fecked.
Well I wouldn't need a VPN would I since I'm in the US?

I currently have an account where I give my Comcast ID to watch the online content. But I'm going to be ditching comcast for Dish or Direct TV and want to know how best to retain the NBC footy coverage.

They definitely do.

They have their own studio team but they use them for commentary.

Danny Higginbotham was on the commentary today and he's one of the PLTV guys.
Oh so I assume what is happening is that they are using a mixture of both the Pltv coverage and their own on some games. I am watching on TV in India and PL TV has Jon Champion and kilbane here while the NBC stream has Lee Dixon

Yeah that makes sense too! Dixon must work for them directly on commentary for certain games maybe.

I bought an NBCSN Live Extra account on Reddit and a VPN and it's up there with the best money I've ever spent. Most of the time, I'll watch it instead of SkySports.
I was about to ask if this is possible, guess it is! What does it cost?

The Premier League broadcast their own commentary and images and most of the foreign channels pay to simply re-distribute the broadcast of that to their own countries. They don't all arrange for their own broadcast setup of the games.

It's based near Heathrow. Good article on it here - https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp....img-premier-league-global-brand?client=safari
Yes, but I'm pretty sure NBC has their own commentary crews at the matches. Unless I've been mistaken this whole time... But most of the time they have conversations with Rebecca Lowe in the studio from the ground.

NBC is great. They give some insight that is missing in other commentaries. A lot of times I hear them responding to a question I'm asking in my head. That rarely happens for me.

As long as you get NBCSN with your new package you will continue to get online access to the matches.

To once and for all clear up the confusion on the commentary for NBC, they select 1-2 matches per week to have their in house commentators (eg, Arlo White, Higginbotham, Le Saux, Dixon) present. These are usually the important matches involving one of the top 6 clubs. The rest are done with the standard PL commentary available in multiple countries.

Seen a couple of games on NBC. Impressed by the muricans, thought they wouldn't have a clue. But I don't know where and when we bought an Italian porn star? They keep talking about Rocco...

Don't you know? Rocco Siffredi always plays from the back for Utd.

The only NBC matchday crew consists of Arlo White with either Graeme La Saux and/or Lee Dixon. They usually do the "biggest" match of the week. The rest of the games receive feeds from other PL commentary teams. Rebecca Lowe, Robbie Earle, Robbie Mustoe, and Kyle Martino are broadcasting from a studio in NY or CT. All the NBCSN PL content is decent. From the PL Downloads, PL Behind the Badge, and PL Goal Zone. To be able to watch every single PL match as part of my basic cable package is nice.

Add to that I can see most Bundesliga matches on Fox, every Real Madrid and Barca game on BeIN, and every CL and Europa League matches on Fox and it's amazing how good we have it.

I'm generally more pleased/less annoyed with NBC's coverage compared to the British channels.

Agree with OP, NBC is excellent.

My current Power rankings:

1: NBC
2: Skysports
3: Bein sports
4: Itv
5: BBC
9999: Bt sport

BT always feel like their presenters have an agenda, and Alan Shearer dreary shit is enough to make me hate terrestrial coverage alone without Lineker etc boring me.

Get yourself a SlingTV account. All the footie you would ever want on your tv, laptop, or mobile device.

My only gripe with NBCSN is Kyle Martino can get a bit annoying at times. Other than that it's great.

He does have an odd speaking cadence. Agreed the token yank is the weak link of the studio team. Always trying to sound cleverer than he actually is leads to those long pauses.

How is the streaming quality of live games compared to hd channels on cable? I wanted to cut my cable and switch over to Sling about a year ago, but they didn't have footie channels back then.

He's gotten a lot better since his time at Fox Soccer. That was some painful viewing, as was pretty much everything about Fox Soccer.

If they threw in Derek Rae as commentator every now and then it'd be great. He's one of my favorites.

All the major TV cable companies carry NBCSN. So every game is available. When it's not on TV(NBCSN),it's on the Live extra app. If you get the little Apple TV device, then the app is on tv.

It's HD quality as long as you have an average speed broadband connnection. I don't have a cable tv or dish service so Sling is a godsend. Between NBCSN, FS1, and BeIN Sports, you can pretty much die in footy heaven.

Laugh it up buddy, but for some strange reason we can watch more games for less money.
Until this season every single game was live in Iceland but we couldn't do it anymore because other countries in Europe got annoyed with the deal. The US gets a pass because they're a different continent.

I don't watch American coverage obviously but I was in Chicago for the United v City league cup match and I hated that coverage. Half of the game was commentating, the other half was the commentator saying what was coming up in sports for the next week. Watching a game live, hearing what's happening in sports on the same channel 5 days from now...

Interesting thread.

I've been watching a lot of their streams this year and am always impressed with the coverage. Just the other week I was praising this generic sounding American voice in one of the match day threads and was informed it was Brad Friedel!

It's not agenda or narrative driven like Sky/BT and that's so refreshing.

NBC doesn't carry the league cup matches. Actually have no idea who carries the league cup here in the states, but NBC only does the Premier League.
