It's strange for football people that are not owners to be vocally against Watson. From a football standpoint Houston have wasted his talent and are most likely going to waste his talent in the future, if Watson believes that being in a competent and more respectful organization is more important than simply earning big in Houston then we should all support him.

High level summary? Cant be doing with listening to him shout between long self-indulgent pauses.
Dick Vermeil gave his view on Watson that he portrayed an image of good boy but here he is asking too much. If he wants to be in charge of coaches and GM then "buy your own team".

Stephen A goes on to point out how that completely ignores the Houston Texans role in all this. Compares it to when Brett Favre manipulated to get to vikings. And insinuates that race is a factor in Watson being criticized. Kellerman goes on to be more explicit about it.

Saw Jeudy trending on my twitter today, and was dreading some sort of bad news. Instead he and Jackson were name-dropping Watson. Jackson said he is considering Denver.

So you’re telling me there’s a chance...

Yea the race angle occurred to me straight away. Cheers for the summary.

Saw the Jackson comments last night. It’s the hope that kills you.

Bennett also had quite a rant about it last night. Also had some very interesting threads on his Twitter feed about retirement/PTSD/CTE/playing through pain, stuff like that. His whole feed is quite worth a read if you have the time.

I thought Wentz was going to stay after the coaching change. Rumors the Colts are in danger of being gazumped by the Bears.

Probably not the best preparation for them, but if he was impaired then no sympathy for him.

Kansas City Chiefs outside linebackers coach Britt Reid, the son of head coach Andy Reid, was involved in a multicar crash Thursday night that has left a 5-year-old child with life-threatening injuries, according to a team statement and the police report.

The 5-year-old remained in critical condition as of Saturday afternoon, according to the Kansas City Police Department.

Reid, who was scheduled to leave with the Chiefs on Saturday for Super Bowl LV against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, did not travel to Tampa, Florida, with the team.

According to an incident report provided by the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, a car ran out of gas on an on-ramp to Interstate 435 in Kansas City on Thursday night. After the driver called relatives for help, a second car arrived, also parking on the on-ramp near the Chiefs' training complex adjacent to Arrowhead Stadium.

According to the police report, a third vehicle, a Ram Laramie Sport, came along and struck first the left front of the disabled vehicle and then the rear of the second vehicle, where the 5-year-old child was in the back seat along with a 4-year-old child, who also was taken by ambulance to an area hospital but with non-life-threatening injuries.

Reid acknowledged to police that he was driving the Ram Laramie Sport, according to a police officer statement obtained by ESPN. The police report said the driver of the third vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was being investigated for possible impairment.

According to the police officer statement, a KCPD officer said Reid's eyes were bloodshot and that the officer smelled "a moderate odor of alcoholic beverages." The statement went on to say Reid told the officer that he had had two to three drinks and that he also took prescription Adderall.

"The organization has been made aware of a multi-vehicle accident involving Outside Linebackers Coach, Britt Reid," the Chiefs said in a statement Friday. "We are in the process of gathering information, and we will have no further comment at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved."

The officer statement said Reid complained of stomach pains. A source told ESPN's Dianna Russini that Reid is in the hospital with undisclosed injuries and could be there for days.

The KCPD told Russini that, if there are charges in this case, they will not be filed until after the Super Bowl and that they could take up to three weeks as part of a normal investigative timeline. A source told Russini that driver impairment was under investigation by police.

No one involved in the multicar crash was identified by name in the police report.

The driver of the disabled vehicle was inside the car at the time of the first collision but was not injured, the police report said, and the driver of the second vehicle and a front-seat adult passenger also were not injured.

Reid has had legal problems in the past. In 2007, he pleaded guilty to flashing a gun at another motorist and was sentenced that November to eight to 23 months in prison.

The following year, he pleaded guilty to DUI and drug charges after he drove into a shopping cart in a parking lot after he had difficulty locating his vehicle while leaving a store.

Reid, 35, joined the Chiefs in 2013 as a defensive assistant coach. He became assistant defensive line coach in 2015 and defensive line coach in 2016. He became the outside linebackers coach in 2019.

Andy Reid has not had the best of fortune with sons & substances.

Smacks a bit of the Eugene Robinson situation, an issue a couple days before a Super Bowl that can do nothing but distract. This unfortunately has others physically harmed though.

AD is a freak but I really would’ve given DPOY to Watt this season. Better in all major categories too.

Interesting to see how Todd Bowles goes about preparing for the Chiefs offense tonight. The Bucs are a great defense against the run but only a good defense against the pass. Considering that KC are pass-heavy, that's not an ideal situation for the Bucs. The Bucs also defend the pass a lot better when playing out of nickel, which should be fine given that KC make heavy use out of their 11 personnel. However, the Bucs have really struggled all season against the pass when playing out of their pass defense; it will be interesting to note whether this will mean increased used of 2-TE formations by the Chiefs.

In addition, when playing out of their base defense, the Bucs tend to play a lot of single-high coverage. Back in the regular season match-up, Hill humiliated TB's single-high coverage early on in the game; TB have started playing more two-high coverages ever since. So what I expect to happen is that TB will play a lot of two-high when playing against KC's 11 personnel but will switch to single-high when KC use 12 personnel. Therefore, you might expect the deep shots to Hill to come when KC are using 12 personnel, with Kelce being the main focus underneath when KC are using 11 personnel.

The Bucs are also blitz-heavy and are playing against a banged-up OL as well. However, in the last match-up, Bowles didn't blitz much as KC tend to pick apart the defense on blitzes. There isn't really a blueprint to play against KC's offense given that it's almost the perfect blend of talent plus coaching but the teams that have generally had success are those who have been able to get after Mahomes i.e. the 49ers front last year with Bosa/Buckner/Armstead, the Chargers back in September 2020 with Bosa/Ingram.

As for the other phase of the game, KC are weak against the run but that's mainly because they play a lot of two-high coverages and play a lot of nickel/dime. The Bucs have a decent enough running game but their passing game is by far their strongest suit. Unlike TB though, KC's defense is better against the pass than against the run. One upside for TB is that outside of Chris Jones, the KC D-Line has struggles to get after the passer this year; in addition, TB have had one of the best pass-protecting OLs in the NFL this season.

On the whole, TB can win but they don't have the same margin for error as KC. KC scored 21 points in less than 5 minutes late in the fourth quarter against the Niners; very few offenses in the history of the NFL have had anywhere near the same knockout punch that KC have on offense. For that reason, I'm going for KC by 6.

I like KC to cover the 3, but don’t feel very good about it with KC’s junior varsity OL facing that DL. Getting Vea back was key and may end up being a huge factor.

I would bet the under and, at the odds given, Kelce or Hill for MVP. Kelce in particular I like to have a huge stat-line as they will be keying on Hill after the last debacle.
