I didn’t see Hayek; she didn’t present with Berry did she? I was so focused on berry’s slit dress to see who she was with.I hope I look as good as Salma Hayek,Halle Berry when I am 56.

It should have won Worst Acronym Ever too. Can’t we just call it Everything?I watched EEAAO last night and thought it was fantastic.
I vote for Short Round The Movie. It should have won Worst Acronym Ever too. Can’t we just call it Everything?
All of the other films nominated for best director. What better films won nothing? A few examples would be nice.
It's technically brilliant but it feels like a hyperactive mess. It's good but not great, it's now overratedEEAAO felt like a Marvel movie in all but name, disappointing to see it lauded so much. Hype sells I guess.
Enough about the Liverpool game7 for this crap ?
The Oscars are overcorrecting too much and now almost every Best Picture winner is a low to mid-budget "plucky underdog" that wouldn't have gotten a win twenty years ago. Then everyone can hoot and holler about how surprising the choice was.Everything Everywhere was a decent movie but best of the year?? Who picks these movies anyway?

EEAO, Coda, Parasite, Shape of Water, Moonlight, Spotlight, The Artist... It's not that the movies are necessarily bad, but this kind of "offbeat" winner has become its own cliche.
Don't think The Artist and Spotlight fall under the same category as the others, the latter is definitely not offbeat. I agree with the general point though and something very noticeable since 2016.The Oscars are overcorrecting too much and now almost every Best Picture winner is a low to mid-budget "plucky underdog" that wouldn't have gotten a win twenty years ago. Then everyone can hoot and holler about how surprising the choice was.

Definitely, most films about WW1 are from the allies perspective. This one is from the Germans, it’s really good, quite sad but shows the reality that is trench war fare. Brilliant film for me.Should I watch All Quiet On The Western Front? It must be good if it beat Close!
I must have forgotten the scene in Forrest Gump where Forrest jumps into a giant butt plug. This is a classic middle of the road winner. It's closer to Forrest Gump than Moonlight(for instance).
I meant tone and wide appealI must have forgotten the scene in Forrest Gump where Forrest jumps into a giant butt plug.
You say "it actually did well with large audiences," but most Best Picture winners do. EEAO made 100 million, Parasite made 260 million, Spotlight made 98 million, Shape of Water made 200 million, Green Book made 300 million, etc. Even Moonlight made 65 million. It is extremely rare for a Best Picture winner to do poorly with audiences.I meant tone and wide appeal
Close is a much better movie imo. The Academy does like a good war movie though.Should I watch All Quiet On The Western Front? It must be good if it beat Close!
That's when you know it's riggedSo Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent don't get a nomination or a win? Yeah feck all this shit
I’ve heard it’s very good which is the opposite of every marvel film.EEAAO felt like a Marvel movie in all but name, disappointing to see it lauded so much. Hype sells I guess.
Sounds like you don't like much.I switched EEAAO off after about 30 minutes, I was bored
I hate having to write it all out too, or even say it all in my head.. its too much effort
It's better than a Marvel movie, for sure.I’ve heard it’s very good which is the opposite of every marvel film.
