The point is not how the team does overall, is how one single guy can be world class even when surrounded by average teammates. You actually gave a good example, one that Pogba seems unable to match.

Fanfiction? It's my opinion buddy, time will tell what happens in reality. Just because we are becoming a b*tch of a club, doesn't mean Ole will act like a coward if something goes on that doesn't please him.

What about when De Gea wasn't signing and looking for a transfer to Madrid? Van Gaal benched him straight away until the new contract was done. So what if Solskjaer isn't experienced, he isn't a p***y.

Nah, it’s because we don’t want to pay Raiola another mega ‘brokerage’ fee, plus meet MDL’s wage demands. I’m glad we stayed clear. Potential great player but asking too much too soon imo.

Disagree with this. Ole won’t play a player who doesn’t commit, pressure or no pressure but playing player who doesn’t commit is the same thing with playing with 10 men. Pogba will have no choice to commit & impress if he cares about Euro 2020.

LVG didn’t play DDG due to a reason of him not focusing in the game due to transfer saga.

City, Pool, Spurs are delivering on their promises of building a ‘project’, which they used to attract players. Our ‘project’ when Pogba rejoined us has never got off the ground. At his age he wants to be competing for major trophies, not playing on a Thursday night in some frozen wasteland. He’s a petulant barsteward, prone to switching off far too much, but at least he has ambition. I think he just wants that ambition matched by the club. We’ve let him down as much as he has let us down, but I think I understand it. If he stays, with a new contract, we absolutely need to hit the transfer market big time. We can do things other clubs can’t according to Woody. Well time to step up to the plate and back Ole to rebuild this squad with serious money. Early indications are not good so far though.

Pogba will commit to play football this season with us if he wants to play in Euro 2020. Otherwise, Ole won’t play him & Pogba will have slim chance to play in euro.
 
Good lord, people getting giddy because we've briefed that we're going to up our Pogba's price up, propaganda Ed is at work again.

This summer was supposed to be about incomings, and most before the tour, perhaps just concentrate on doing this, rather than playing billy big bollocks in the media over players we've already got.

No way, Ole won't care about Adidas ffs.

Pogba will have a decision if he stays - sign a new contract and commit 1000% to United or don't, be unfocused and risk not playing much, which will be bad for his chances of going to the European Championship in 2020.

Ole will play him is what I believe, no matter if he signs a contract or not. He's our "star" player and all that.

Yeah but what if mentally he is already in Madrid? Signing a contract means a change of attitude towards any sort of move, because Pogba will know only a world-record fee can take him off us at that point.

The only reason the price is what it is in this inflated market is the fact he has 3 years left and has expressed his wishes to leave. A new contract and proper dedication to the cause makes him worth north of £200 million for us.

I believe the club and Ole will do everything they can to paint a pretty picture of how happy and dedicated Pogba is here, next season he's off, new contract or not. He has openly said he wants to leave, so has his agent. So what has changed, the last few weeks? More money will make him dedicated? Don't buy that, sorry.

New contract doesn't change his worth, he's already got 3 years left on his current one. Giving him a raise when he's failed to consistently deliver at his age is madness. We should just play hardball with him, his agent and Real Madrid. There's nothing to be gained by rewarding him with a new contract.

It so funny because when we bought pogba for 89 million Im pretty sure we also didnt think he was worth that. If there is one thing i am glad about in todays transfer market is that we too can play hardball and quote silly prices like everyone else.

Ambition. That’s the only thing that will make him stay long term imo. If we’ve given him ‘assurances’ that we are going to invest in the football club then we bloody well need to deliver.

My feeling is that United are refusing to sell Pogba - unless for a fee that no-one is willing to pay - mainly as a matter of pride, rather than for common-sense reasons.

I actually think that United would be better off without him, using the money to sign one or more players that are not just talented, but actually hard-working and committed.

If I was a United fan I'd fear that unless Pogba is sold the script for the coming season is already being written and mainly features an amplified version of what we've already seen.

But when we're being asked to pay £50 million for Longstaff then there's no point in letting him go on the 'cheap', as the money wouldn't go very far.

Especially not to a team who tried to take us to the cleaners for Morata a couple of years ago.

If we got a decent offer I honestly think we'd sell him and reinvest it in someone a bit more industrious, like you suggest. However, it sounds like Madrid want to take advantage of us and try to do a deal between £80-100 million.

So roughly want Leicester want for Maguire...

I, personally, hope we don't let that happen. We've already set some awful transfer/wage precedents.

I fear your observation is spot on. Despite Ole's comments about Pogba's professionalism and personality, which I suspect have more to do with supporting his price tag than anything else, I think the player has already decided his future lies elsewhere. There's no question that the club could simply refuse to sell him, but having an influential figure who wants away is not a recipe for a happy dressing room. Pogba would most likely be forced to knuckle down and accept the situation, or risk being out in the cold for both club and country, but I still don't imagine we'd get the best out of him.

Like it or not, the best outcome is that he leaves for a decent fee, and we get on with planning for next season sans Pogba.
 
I think we will ultimately keep him, as we did with De Gea. We have a 3 year contract with him which takes him past his prime years. I think within that period we will see him sign a fat new contract.

Agreed,about time clubs paid fee's on our own terms instead of expecting us to offload talent for less than the clubs valuation.

Every other top club negotiates on their own terms and make profit off their stars more often than not. Can't remember the last we made solid profit on a buy,clubs always manage to bully dolorous Ed in the market.

More than time we showed some backbone

Me too. I like that they are not bending and sending the fat fecker a message, but ultimately I wouldn't like them to price them out.
 
The saddest part of this whole saga is the sullying of a good man like Mino Raiola's reputation.

He doesn't have a choice, no clubs are willing to pay what we want for him, no matter how much he wants to leave and all that has been said by him and his agent.
