Thats been the case every season
Yes and eventually it took it's toll. Problem we have as well is two of the worst culprits are left overs from SAF. Jones has been given chance after chance. That is why I am staggered that Gareth Bale might be an option in the summer. We need two attacking fullbacks and men wide who will take their man on. I want to win things, it is a competitive sport. Yes other clubs might be playing better than us at the moment, but if they don't win things the pretty football will soon wear thin with their fans.

After such a pleasant first half we shift it into reverse gear for the second part and bring all the pressure on ourselves. Cool that we're in the final, nonetheless this was disappointing.

Mourinho needs to win the Europa League, as much at a personal level as United need to as a club. He seems devoid of confidence, been a while (in Mourinho's relative terms) since he celebrated something important. He seemed genuinely scared at times (or perhaps I am seeing things?), something I don't really associate him much. His "negativity" used to be more pragmatic than fearful, I'd say.

I reckon if you pull it through you will look a lot better next season. It will be a major major trophy for him.

I'm far more excited about it than the CL final, with this in mind, but if I was a United fan I'd be bricking it. Not sure you can be regarded as favourites after what I saw today, and Ajax not needing to win it as much as you might work in their favour, your players seemed incredibly nervous today.

No way we'll win the final if we play like that. And to be honest I struggle to see Jose resorting to anything other than an outright defensive mindset in that game.

He got through by sheer dumb luck and nothing else

Guidetti strikes that last ball half decent and it is curtains for us. How the feck can we invite so much pressure on ourself in that last 30 minutes of the match ? We play this stupid versus Ajax and they will shove 4 goals past us in the final with the whole world watching.

Losing Bailly in the end will also make a huge difference, no way that incident happens if United had scored 1 more goal and killed the match off.
What matters more to you: that we are in the final or that we could have played more to your suit your ideal style even after the expense of getting through? And if we win it playing this way, will you refuse to celebrate because it will be due to 'dumb luck'?

But Bailly was going to the final. No matter what they said, he ought to have known any overreaction would lead to a suspension that would stop him from playing in the final.

I think it's about time we start doing some IQ tests for some of the players we buy. That, from Bailly, was very unprofessional. Jose should have a word with his hot heads.

I agree players need to keep their cool regardless, but I've witnessed that sort of reaction so many times playing Sunday football and something nasty is usually said

We can't defend a lead for shit! But thank god we're there! Hopefully we perform in the final and turn Ajax over. Wrap Rashford, Pogba, Herrera and Mkhitaryan in cotton wool until the final.
The first three yeah but Mkh?? I find myself watching games for minutes on end and checking if I missed him being subbed.

Really mixed feelings..... we were dogshite for large chunks of the second half, but in the final and the advantages of winning that hopefully (CL qualification, ability to attract better players, etc) outweigh the manner we got there.

Finals is a different kettle of fish. Its a single game in which everyone goes for the win.

Two leg ties are different cos of away goals. Celta could afford to gamble as they had nothing to lose while we couldnt afford to concede cos of the pressure it would bring.

What I didn't like is again, the ref let all these blatant fouls from both teams accumulate. Then he was baited by Celta's bullshit La Liga diving which naturally got a reaction.

No we won't. Very professional over 2 legs and I always felt we could push the accelerator if we needed to.

It was a defensive approach that comfortably delivered the required winning result.

I was expecting white text.
First leg was an excellent performance.
Second leg was pisspoor and almost threw it away, lucky that fecker missed what was a sitter with 15 seconds to go.
Im glad Sevilla arent in this, they'd of murdered Utd tonight.

Exactly. Sounds like some people are upset at us reaching the final

No, were just pissed off with how shite we are and the stupid tactics that very nearly cost us again

What you on about, I was talking about the first game and also come to think of it the first half of this game at least.

Also they didn't either we scored more :wenger:

You said " all these people forgetting we should've scored 6 in the first leg", I replied by saying, but we didn't, should've scored goals don't count, we should have and could have scored more in both legs but we didn't due mainly to shit tactics after we scored.

Some of us complained about Jose's cowardly, defensive attitude before he was signed. Are we not allowed to complain now that he's our manager?

I want him to get another year. But he needs to do something drastic in the summer, because this shit isn't remotely good enough for a club of United's size.
