Interesting that both Rooney's assists this season came from a wide position, i'm not advocating he plays out there but perhaps he should be looking to switch positions with a wide player more often in a game when he's getting no joy through the middle.Yep, Martial, like Rashford, has quick feet and can lay off pass or play 1-two with ease, should've tried to play him behind Ibra since it was obvious that Rooney can't operate through all that midfield traffic.
my idea of self depreciating humour. Am trying to redeem myself for being against the signing originallyWhat?
Me to, so far i've been pleasantly surprised we've been playing some good stuff, always nice to be proved wrong, long may it continue!Agreed. I've enjoyed all our matches under Mourinho.
Great shot.....lol the lad in the middle who thought it the perfect time to check his text messages.
amazing footballer. You can see why he is keeping Smalling out.Everything has pretty much said about this match...the player who has impressed me the most has got to be Bailly...the man has hardly put a foot wrong.....maybe I'm overstating things after only three matches but ffs he has been solid gold.
Made us look differwnr because they were fast and fresh vs knackered Hull defenders. I doubt they would have had simimar success in the rain against fresh defenders.Trevor Francis is certainly the most moronic and ill informed commentator around today but one thing he said made sense.
You have to start with Rashford and miki.
I know hull were tiring but these two, Rashford especially made us look completely different. Rooney was the worst player on the pitch for long long periods but have to say that assist was brilliant.
Harsh. Yeah, it wasn't his day....but he certainly had his moments. From the Martial cross, the that header attempt to assist, he did OK, imo. Against a well defensive set up like Hull, it is what could happen.Rooney was the worst player on the pitch for long long periods but have to say that assist was brilliant.
Know what you mean, was really in the balance at the stage Huddlestone had that shot deflected just wide with DDG beaten.Woohooo! Looked like "one of those days" but turned out to be one of those days from Fergie era
Rooney looked a threat on the lef. New position? Not long watched the game , paused it a few times when rashford has the ball in the box , the defenders look genuinely terrified . I think word has well and truly spread that he is the real deal, and his time with the England squad will have helped this. I'd genuinely consider using ibra as the impact sub against city and starting rashford , he would tear John stones a new one !
Dropping our leading goalscorer is blasphemy. Drop Mata/Martial and add Rashford/Mkhitaryan to the mix.Not long watched the game , paused it a few times when rashford has the ball in the box , the defenders look genuinely terrified . Yes, I think our midfielders are better suited to a 3, rather than 2, but then that would mean dropping Rooney as we won't require a #10. So, probably not going to happen anytime soon.It might take us playing a 3 man midfield for that to happen. Pogba at the top of the point facing forward with a 2 of whomever behind.
Nobody commented on this?Dreadful but got a win. We'll get wrecked by City if we don't get our shit together by then
Typical fan that needs to win 3-0, 4-0 for it to be a good performance. 63% and 30 shots and probably about 95% possession for the last 20 minutes of the game continually attacking isn't dreadful. Dreadful is when you have 68% possession, only 6 shots, 1 on goal and lose.Nobody commented on this?
What a difference a manager makes to the team. There were games last 3 years where we could have played for 180 minutes and still would not have found the net.
But there was the feel throughout the second half that a goal was imminent and it was clearly visible in the players as well. Our squad strength in terms of attacking options also looks good. Its a breath of fresh air around the club.
