One of the worst referee performances outside of everything Mike Dean has ever done that I have seen. Twattenburg gave us absolutely nothing. A clear pen and red for Bravo on Rooney not given, freekicks in the double digits not given, while simultanously given for exactly the same situations for City.

Also we were set up wrong from the go. If we started with the setup we had in the second half then we would have had a draw at worst.

And people fecking dare to claim that Clattenburg is anything other than an inept piece of shit, fecking hell.

We've lost it in the first half, absolute shambles from Blind and probably from Bailly too, most of the players were mentally not up to par for this match, simple as.

Fellaini MOTM, Herrera very good when he came on, to be fair I didn't even mind Rooney today. Pogba, Zlatan, Mkhitaryan simply poor today, you expect more from them.

First half, some world class play from City; we looked utter shite. Second half, could've gone either way. Best derby I've seen in years if not for the result :(

Can't play as poorly as we did for 40 minutes and expect to get anything out of the game.

Lingard and Mkhitarayan were both as bad as I've ever seen from an individual performance.

Love our fighting spirit but City looks to have much more quality in their side mainy because of their genius of a manager.

Mou messed up by starting with Lingard and Mika. Herrera should have started. And we should have gone with a 4-3-3 to counter City. He did that for the 2nd half and we looked much better.

I'm still wondering when we get a fair ref.
Pep must have some hold over officials because his team seem to play to different rules than everyone else.

Ref on city's side again, nothing new to see here. We should have had 2-2 and playing with 11 vs 10 in the last 30 mins.

Could've been 2-2, could have been 3-1 just as easily. Hard to swallow, though you have to say as a spectacle it was superb.

The loss is completely on Mourinho. Starting Rooney and Zlatan up top, Fellaini and Pogba in midfield on their own, Mkhi and Lingard on the wings, with both Rashford and Martial on the bench? I just don't understand what he was thinking.

Positives: 4-2-3-1 is done in the big games. There is no way Mourinho leaves us that vulnerable again.

Pogba-Herrera-Fellaini it is. Herrera looked absolutely class when he came on.
Definitely. Him and Rashford changed the game.

Great game. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We got ambushed in the first half, but could've easily nicked a draw

The last 10 mins by Rooney reminded me of the derby all those years ago when Owen scored the winner. Rooney kept pinging in hopeless lofted balls in the box hoping for scraps. Giggs gets the ball and immediately puts a slide rule pass for Owen.

That is what we missed towards the end. Guile. None of our players seemed to have it and that is why City could just clear ball after ball.

They deserved it. We showed we can be better than what we were early in the match, so that is a positive.

Cant really complain. The game was entertaining enough...
Hope we do better the next time.

They were the better team... but they were lucky to not be 10 man early on in the 2nd half.

City were very good and deserved to win.

Saying that we should have had a penalty, and Zlatan fecked up numerous chances despite his great goal.

Rooney still shite. Lingard shouldn't start for us again in a game of this importance.

City deserved winners. Very good game of football, neutrals enjoyed it, no doubt.

At least we fought in the second half.
Had a feeling of an 1-6 revival after that first half.

Completely wrong tactics in the first half and not enough passion & energy. Better in the 2nd but we looked exhausted at the end. Saw that City outran us 1st half, was that true for the whole game? Defensively we just weren't compact enough which isn't something you normally say for a Mourinho team.

First half were didn't turn up at all. Probably a mistake with only 2 in central midfield. Second half much better and threw as much as we could at them without getting the goal. Zlatan took his goal well but other than that didn't have his shooting boots on. Herrera was decent.

Can't win them all.

Deserved a point. Can't start as bad as that. Jose will have learned a lot.

I wanted to rate Mhki and Lingard at 0 but it wasn't possible, so a 1 will have to do even though they don't deserve it.

End to end, better beat won sadly. At least we fought to the final whistle. Some of our players were dead on their feet towards the end.

We may have lost against those cretins, but I tell you what, second half that was United of old. And people will be taking note of that.

Previous seasons we would have rolled over, or sat back.

Agenda alert.

As for the game, big error from JM, way too passive, can't let City settle into their stride like that with their playmakers. Once it went to 433 and we had faith in our game it was much better, hopefully JM will learn from this and we'll fly at teams.
Also, this game continued the pattern of lethargic first halfs and greater intensity expended in the second.

Blind and Baily are not good enough for the bid games they got exposed all day. Out of their depth. Ok for cannon fodder where we dominate the ball but not the big boys where you have to soak up pressure. Simple.

We was lucky it was only 2 City scored. And our goal was a fluke.

City

- Bravo terrible. Should have conceded a penalty, and atrocious in what he was supposedly bought for. Mistake for the goal too.
- De Bruyne excellent, difference between the two sides today was that when each team needed at least one of their WC players to stand up, he did.
- Defence can definitely be got at. Stones had a couple of shaky moments and his inexperience is still telling.

United

- Pogba, Mkhitaryan, and Ibra all poor today when they needed to stand up and be counted for.
- Valencia, Fellaini and Bailly had good games.
- Blind with two poor mistakes that show his defensive weaknesses in the big games but he was good in the latter stages of the game where a bit of composure was needed.

All in all it was a pretty tight game and a draw would have been fair. City were better in the first half and United better in the second. The international games were telling for fitness levels however.

Giving them that start before we turned up was criminal, but that second half exposed them and other sides might just have a way in against them. Fantastic game of football, I bet we don't see anything better than it for the rest of the season.
