As comfy as you'll get against the modern City.

No shots on target and didn't look like having one either

Impressed with Rojo today which is something I didn't think I'd ever say!

Herrera and Rojo good. Rashford and Pogba were good second half too.

I will almost give Zlatan man of the match for that fantastic second half. So poor first half though, but wow. Totally bossed it from 46th, big Zlat.

A fantastic second half performance. More of that and top four will be a given.

Feels very good to win that, I think the players and especially Jose probably needed it. We played a good second half and really should have scored one or two more. City were under strength but A) they didn't need to be and B) They brought on £90m of attacking talent who did nothing. Well done to the team

Needed that but a long way to go. Don't see any pattern to our play. But, City knocked out, so are Chelsea and Spurs and we still on track for possible silverware !

We're through, as you'd expect of a full strength United vs a very weakened City. Anything other than a win would have been a disaster. City didn't really look like they wanted to win the game.

  • Never drop Mata from the first XI
  • Carrick > Fellaini
  • Rojo is a better CB than LB, but he can't be trusted as a starter. We need to invest in an experienced CB in January.
  • Herrera will be player of the season
  • Half-time talk went a lot better than at The Bridge.
  • Zlatan is getting better
  • Lastly, what's going on in Pep City!? :D

Don't care if their team was 2nd string or not, big result for us.

Blind and Rojo both quiet which is good for your CB's. Shaw really kicked on second half and looked good considering his lack of games. Zlatan and Pogba both improved and Valencia looked solid too.

Morgan came on and did his job perfectly, him and Herrera being a massive pain in the ass breaking up play.

Herrera MOTM and my favourite man ever.

2 teams low on confidence. United the better side, some glimpses of good football in the 2nd half and a much deserved win. But more over, feck off cuteh you blue nosed tw@ts

Mate, we needed a win - things were getting desperate. Whether it came in the League Cup or any other competition, we needed this.

Okay performance. First half was flat, better in the second half without being brilliant. Apart from that early chance for Kelchi, City didn't create anything meaningful.
