Blind was literally on his own in midfield. Not the best side go play away at West ham. Fellaini should have started. Clueless to why he wasn't. Just needed some strength and presence in midfield. Rooney would have buried the chances that fell to Falcao. Rather see him upfront than in this sort of midfield role.

Rooney can't be kept in midfield. He really needs to be up top with whoever, as Rooneys movement would be a major plus there. Adnan picked ahead of Herrera for a more central position also? This playing players out of position just does not give us a good shape at all

Allerdice haha! Sadly he's 100% true! Looks worse as Van Gaal always says about other teams just playing long balls, including West Ham!

LVG needs to stop playing Rooney in midfield and stick him up front. Its baffling that our best goalscorer plays in midfield while we play two strikers when both of them are not mobile and pacey enough and need chances to deliver which are not going to come when you have only one or two in midfield who could consistently create for them.
With all the talk of shambolic defense , its the attackers that have let us down the most in the last couple of months.

We're a shambles and we aren't finishing top 4 at this rate. Come March we have hard fixtures and that is where our luck will end.
March with hard fixtures is where we really struggled last season, didn't we.

Could be a deja vu in the making, not good.

He is just expressing his thoughts on the forum. That is everybody's right, right ? No need to go full sarcasm here, i think. Take a deep breath and imagine yourself being surrounded by hula dancing girls in Honolulu.
Yeah, so some sarcasm offends you more than someone calling one of our players 'poodle on stick' because he has as afro? Maybe you've a screwed up perspective on humanity.

Terrible performance but in the end we should have won. RVP and Falcao with relatively simple chances that you'd expect them to score 2/3.

Never thought I'd see the day where we would eek out a draw against a sam allardyce side by using long balls to our tallest player.

We have gone so far backwards since SAF has left. Im not sure LVG is the right man to take us completely back to the top. He might have helped in the process, but I still think we were absolutely moronic for not trying to get Mourinho or Guardiola.

Hey we went to 4 at the back like everyone here wanted so why are we still terrible?

Hard to believe that people say now 'we just need to play rooney up front and herrera in mf' and believe themselves.

We are shit away from home no matter what we do. We are simply not coached well enough on a strategy away from home. There's no simple solution like switching two players arround or playing a slightly different system
So playing an actual midfielder in midfield while pushing our second highest goalscorer, who has been abysmal in midfield, up top while dropping one of our two massively underachieving strikers won't make a difference? Good God, might as well just pick players' names out of a hat for the starting 11 if you think making changes to personnel and players' positions won't improve us, especially considering we have seen some decent performances with players in their right positions.

We have no explosive wingers or forwards so we will continue to stutter through the season until our lack of pace in attack is addressed. New signings will be needed in every area of the pitch. Top for is looking 50/50 right now. It would be a major achievement for Van Gaal to get top 4 come the end of the season with such an unbalanced squad

Tricky away game. Thought West Ham did well. Our strikers were just not good enough. Falcao had a great chance but the main criticism is they looked very lazy.
Personally I would start Rooney up front.

knew this would be a hard game

my lineup started fellaini ahead of januzaj, smalling in with mcNair & rojo in wide, and planned to use wilson for the first hour of play too. is quite close to where we ended the game.

probably might lvg underestimate the difficulty of this game, or he really wanted to try if we can cope with this with some nice play.

anyway, we don't deserve to lose this game. both falcao & rvp should have scored.
SO Cambridge and Yeovil are difficult games, yet West Ham he has underestimated. No he is just clueless.

We have Falcao, Di Maria and Rooney playing together, if someone said that to me before we signed them I'd say your mad and that if it happens RIP PL defenders....

I'll just leave it at that as I'm fecking angry and don't fancy a ban!

Carragher speaking sense. Agree completely with everything he's saying. Criticizing RvP and Falcao, and saying it's baffling that Rooney is playing as a defensive midfielder pretty much. Saying we have one of the best defensive records in the league and the problems are the forwards.

It really is, every cross is either floated away or drilled into the ankles of the opposition.
It's been our problem area for a few seasons now imo. Valencia offers nothing going forward and neither does Shaw. Januzaj puts in a decent cross now and then but he's so inconsistent much like Nani used to be. Our wing player is a shambles, really is our biggest weakness in the squad imo.

Point is that people have been saying these types of things all season 'we'll be fine if we just...' and suggesting some tactical change.

One lad on here said it was 'obvious' that fellaini and mata had to start' haha. People just pick the players on the bench every week and say we would have won if we played them. Can't believe nobody sees this trend after 18 months of this nonsense

Not really offended dear charleysurf. I just think its a bit off to call somebody a genius for expressing his/her thoughts. Perspective on humanity ? You shall love your crooked neighbour, with your crooked heart. Enjoy your weekend.

The thing is, we genuinely don't have any actual wingers. Valencia's practically a RB, Januzaj is a #10 and Di Maria plays better in midfield. Young's our only actual winger at the moment.

Perhaps Depay could be the answer?

Wasn't a surprise that we saw such a poor performance from the lads. Balance was all over the place. Striker's didn't run in behind, midfielders did too much with it, it was just a shambles.

All in all, i'm very happy that we got a point, although we need to winning these type of games.

Maybe ADM plays better as a mid but maybe he'd look good as a winger in the right system. Saying all that you're right, we lack wingers.

We are just an embarrassment, a total laughing stock.
Don't be silly. It was poor but we aren't a laughing stock for drawing a tough away game against West Ham. Who's laughing at us? Teams lower than us in the league? Or City who just drew at home against Hull.
