Matic and Shaw particularly we’re firing balls into Martial and Rashford for no reason, just play the simple pass ffs. Pogba was holding the ball too long, and Ander passes back too much. We just looked off and rusty which was weird considering we had time to rest after the Arsenal game.
They definitely shouldn't have been tired, but injured players need games and unfortunately the first game they can get is this one. They needed a couple of easy league games before this one.

To be honest, the 2-0 defeat vs Arsenal hurt a lot more than this. Especially after Paris.

Today we played as if the squad is not fit enough (atm) and with their heads in the Top4 race / UCL QFs.

NT break and reset, hopefully. Hope this is not the beginning of the end. Top4 would be a Title in itself.

On paper the team was strong. Probably the team most fans wanted.
But I think match fitness was the issue.
Martial, Lingard and Herrera looked lost.
Rashford, Matic and Pogba out of form.

This is where Ole probably let's him self down a bit.
Fred and Mctommy have been impressive last few games.....Not sure why it was changed.

Football, bloody hell.
Really just so disappointed. Such a poor performance, confusing and worrying. Wolves looked like the Champions League side and we looked mid table.

We just didn’t have the intensity we found when Ole took over. Maybe it’s tiredness? We’ve certainly not been helped by having one big game after another and another. Liverpool, PSG, Chelsea, Arsenal, Wolves all played in the last 3-4 weeks. That’s with an injury crisis as well.

That performance was disgraceful and I hope to see us with fire in our belly for the next match. If we can get top 4 it would still be amazing given the mess Jose left us in.

Yeah, that was garbage. We have struggled so many times against teams that are that well organised over the last few years and we just didn't have an answer to their style. Having so many just coming back from injury didn't help as you need to be sharp in games like this and we were the complete opposite.

Whats up with players coming back straight in after injury period, they dont look fit, we had other extreme under LvG with people playing maybe to much u23 games after injury to get fully fit.

We dont have divine right to win yada yada yada but after JM we have/had a chance to make clear what are the Manchester United standards, not winning, playing bad can happen but tonight was similar to so many games in the past, where we just, dont even know how to describe it.

Ole has had an easy run of games. Remember how Cardiff performed under him. Let’s get Poch in.
Are you for real? I think we need to understand what's happening with the players but Poch wouldn't solve it in my opinion.

Wolves themselves were actually pretty poor first half and then just swept us aside second half. Really strange.

Why do teams constantly keep getting sucked into Wolves gameplan? feck me it was obvious how they would set up, why not play them at their own game?

Agree with all the views that the midfield shouldn't have been changed with the players returning, McTominay especially didn't deserve to be dropped.

Rashford and Martial especially disappointed me so much. Martial just didn't look like he wanted to be there, the complete antithesis of the likes of Jota and Jimenez who gave everything.

That was worryingly poor. Almost to a man (Romero obviously excepted). Shame really. I thought we had a shot at winning the thing. Hopefully no injuries over the international break. We need to reset, and fast. Time for Ole to earn that permanent job.

Under Ole we score first we win. The opposition score first we dont win. 2 shots on target against a team everyone said we should win easily against. If they havent already offered Ole the job will the glazers have a rethink on poch? If they have they need to back him up with some big bucks in the transfer window. Very poor tonight and Romero MOTM

Not pretty at all. We need a big overall in the summer and get some players who can run and play as a team. Too many prima donnas in our team who just wait for the ball to come to them. Half of the team are not willing to help their team mates.
A new mid fielder in jan would have bèen useful. Start playing mctom and sell pogba.

We worked so hard to get where we are. If the players really love Ole they need to get their act together.

All the big teams have found it hard at Wolves this season, this result following the Arsenal loss where we weren't nearly as bad as today will obviously draw criticisms. International break has come at the right time for us and can hopefully get a fully fit squad who are up to speed and raring to go after the break.

We have looked jaded the last couple of games and haven't pressed or countered as we have in the previous Ole games.

Although this was our most realistic chance of silverware the couple extra games are something we could do without and it means we now get a week to prepare for the CL first leg vs Barcelona and they have Atletico Madrid a few days before.

Fred was missed too. doesn't take more than two touches and plays quickly.
Classic use of hindsight here :D

Fred has performed to an acceptable standard on a mere handful of occasions this season, he is nowhere near consistent enough to say we missed him tonight. Matic, Herrera and Pogba have been far and away our best midfield three this season (especially under Ole) but they were clearly off the pace tonight due to returning from injury. Martial and Lingard were equally poor, they too were returning from injury.

There are mitigating circumstances in play tonight that many people choose not to acknowledge.

I thought Matic play well enough compare to Pogba and Rashford didn't get enough support from the disappointing Martial and Lingard. Pogba is just so bad today, can't tackles can't run. He need to play further up in place of Lingard where he won't be a liability in the midfield.

Wolves are in a great place right now. We aren’t the only team to have struggled against them and won’t be the last.

On top of that, and without being all Jose, Martial, Rashford, Lingard were all really poor. Our whole attacking line were bad.

We’ve punched above since Ole has come in, and it’s resulted in unrealistic expectations. There have been so many games where we’ve had good fortune and luck on our side to turn a frustrating and ultimately negative outcome into a positive. We’re now seeing the other side. Our game changers are collectively off form. What you can’t deny is the spirit and solidity the new regime has brought in and that’s enough for me to not get carried away. That being said - we were done tonight. Was it tactics, fitness or something else? You can’t just say ‘we got done by wolves were man united that’s unacceptable blah’. They’re a very good side and *shock horror* we can lose a game of football to another good team. What I want to see answered is how pedestrian we were tonight. It was par for the course under the old regime but had seemingly been erased under the new. I’m a bit worried but have faith.

It's shocking how some are overreacting here.

1) those crying how all this was the poor performance from the team and ole underestimate how well wolves played. They treated this as a cup game and earned it. We didn't

2) this may be the second poor result in a row but this is the first poor performance in awhile

Let's see how ole and the team react to stop the rot

Not really, since only one team actually bothered to show up for the second half, including the coaching staff.

We were shite. Dire, Jose level dire. LVG level dire. Awful. The squad is still shite. We need 8, 9 new players. 3 years probably until we can compete for the title. Compare to City who were also poor today but their quality shone through and they could come back and win.

Worst performance from Ole and the players since he came. The BBC idiots are trying to paint some romantic picture of Wolves performance but that result is on our ineptitude, from the manager starting 4 players that weren't match fit while leaving energy and bite on the benchj, and then the total lack of creativity outside of Pogba was exposed as we had all of the ball for nearly 60 minutes as they had zero ambition beyond the counter, and we created feck all.
Wolves performance was very good, made to look brilliant as we couldn't get to grips with them, as they did last week against Chelsea. Take your point that bringing ALL those players back at the same time (I know Matic played against Arsenal), no fluidity, and players trying to get themselves into the flow of a game, but Wolves play that way week in week out, are comfortable in that system, and all their players were fit and match fit.

Has OGS really stamped his mark on the team yet? I'm not sure he has. It's more a case of the players being unshackled. There will need to be another transition yet to see if he has what it takes or not

Notice you stopped at LVG.

So it wasn't quite Moyes level?

2 games in a row that Matic has come in and midfield has been DEAD.

Time for McTominay to be given a run with Herrera behind Pogba.

Ole needs to show more balls when making substitutions. Two games in a row his changes we're long overdue. Has to show the bollocks he did when he first came in and dropped those that deserved it.

I don't understand why they would let every player that was injured get a start. You would think they would come in from the bench. McTominay had a good run of games and has been dropped for a poor Matic. Matic has been really poor after his injury. Rashford needs a break. We could all see that against Arsenal.
