Pathetic. Everyone seen Mount coming in and no defending.

@Chelsea fans, do you not find Jorginho really annoying? Always telling the other players what to do, complaining when they don’t pass the way he calls for, and yet he’s the most likely player in the league to make that stupid pass to his keeper in a rubbish position.
We are so much better with him on the pitch organising the midfield and defense. So not at all.

Keeper just bowled into the West Ham player, is that not a red? Literally didn’t try to make contact with the ball

He's their most important player so why would they? He's like a Carrick clone, brilliant footballer.

No. It's part of his role as the leader in midfield. Obviously it would be great if he didn't make stupid mistakes but he's the glue that makes us such a good possession team.

And they're all either pens or deflections IIRC.

Our defence isn't perfect of course but to say Mendy and Silva "always have a howler in them" is a bit odd.
It’s hilarious considering it came from a. Celtic fan. A team who have just broken Europa League records for being the first team to concede the most goals in the Europa League for two seasons running.

Mendy had 31 clean sheets in 50 games I believe and Thiago Silva is incredible. To single those two out is beyond belief.

Chelsea never concede goals, can't remember the last game they conceded 2 goals. Pretty much an automatic win for them if they score 2 in a game.

You lot are so precious. He criticised your team so you immediately go on the defensive and start attacking the club he supports. You wouldn't be surprised to see this kind of point scoring in a high school.

Agree this one is done. They simply don't concede twice (usually not even once). Deserved to, they've dominated this game from the off.

I’m always more comfortable when Jorginho is in the team. The pass back was slack but Mendy could and should have cleared it easily. No need for the extra touch.

Complaining that Jorginho is always pointing and dictating the field is very bizarre. He’s captain material the way he demands more from his team mates.

If West Ham lose here that’s 3 losses and 1 draw in their last 5. Slowly sliding down the table

Was a weird criticism though, akin to saying Ronaldo rarely scores or DDG saves loads of penalties, basically the opposite of reality.

So defending the best defensive record in the league is ‘precious’ now?

You do realise this is a football forum? If someone makes a silly comment it is there to be challenged. We are not all happy clappers on here by the way.

Would be nice if we stopped conceding some very avoidable goals. It's a poor pass from Jorginho to start with considering Bowen is so close to Mendy, but Mendy has to just hoof it. If he takes a touch as he did the best case either way is just a clearance, so you might as well clear it first time.

Great finish from Mount. Ziyech needs to improve.

You literally can't say a thing to the Chelsea fans on here without them crying in return

You'd think them sitting top of the league after hiring arguably the best manager in the league would give them the self belief to take a tiny bit of criticism

Should never make a back pass at the goal face either really, especially with an opponent so close. Get taught that very early on

No need for this. Do you need to support a top team to have criticisms?

Theyre right though. How can someone say Mendy has a howler in him every game or whatever, when apart from today [iirc], he hasnt committed a howler, and has 31 clean sheets in about 50 games. It's a totally untrue statement to make, so its going to be challenged. It's like someone saying "everytime i watch Utd, CR7 misses a sitter" its just not true, so itd be challenged

You went on the defensive and attacked his team, you didn't even attempt to defend the criticism until you'd taken your childish swipe! the "it's a football forum" is a lame excuse for you just having a go at anything that isn't Chelsea.
Was a weird criticism though, akin to saying Ronaldo rarely scores or DDG saves loads of penalties, basically the opposite of reality.
It was a weird criticism, I just happened to think launching into a rant about Celtic was even weirder. It's deflection tactics. Who that poster supports has nothing to do with his feelings on Mendy or Silva.

True enough!

Anyone, Lukaku is on now so obviously this thread will get far more reasoned and objective.

I have no idea about Mendy's displays in weekly matches, but if he flaps at crosses, misplays kicks, and so forth, perhaps that is what someone was getting at IRT Mendy committing another howler. Errors may not always result in a goal. Again, no idea if he does that weekly, occasionally, or rarely.

Again, and not for the first time, you fail to understand that criticism can be met with a reply.

By all means criticise, that’s the beauty of football but if you criticise someone and it’s met with a reply, don’t go crying about it.

Ziyech for example, has been really poor. If he has been criticised, I’d have agreed. Mendy and Thiago Silva have been excellent all season, so if they’re criticised, I’d challenge this and back it up with facts.

Bruno for example, completely overrated. Doesn’t show up in big games and has had a shocking season. You are welcome to challenge this and I won’t start sobbing uncontrollably. It’s an opinion.
