Double post, that's one goal for Sterling !
Thought it looked tight. Think the ones in the VAR booth are busy having an Afternoon Tea or something. He’s miles onside? Why don’t they just play on and check VAR after?
Fred hasn't been on the bench for our first three gamesWe'd a £70m sub last season Fred's currently a £50m sub. Christ we waste money
It doesn't have to overturn the ref if they tell the ref to check a replay and he then decides it's a pen/Because it over turns a refs subjective call. Seriously.
I know that which is why I said it's obvious that's all it's for. It's not meant to be all it's for though which is why I said why aren't they told to watch replays so the ref can make a more informed decision.Because an offside even if by a few mms is objective, no two ways about it. Whereas any penalty call will have a subjective element to it where they have to defer to the onfield referee.
They don't want the TV's at the side of the pitch and this is where it is falling down.It doesn't have to overturn the ref if they tell the ref to check a replay and he then decides it's a pen/

You are not overruling the ref if you tell him to watch a replay like ALL the other VAR leagues do, the ref can still decide no pen after seeing what we have seen and then we at least know that VAR worked but the ref is just shit/bent. VAR clearly didn't work there and we don't know if the ref seen the foot stomp as a result.
No no no. VAR has an inherent flaw then- so of course you can blame the system as it’s not suitable for football. It’s another ref looking at a replay- that’s it. Won’t get quicker & won’t get less inconsistent from game to game unless you use the same ref for every premier league game.It annoys me when journos and pundits moan about VAR, but never acknowledge it is the operators/referees using it.
Seriously!? well they haven't got VAR then, that is half of the system. No wonder it doesn't work properly, they didn't order all of the bits haha. They don't want the TV's at the side of the pitch and this is where it is falling down.
Which I would agree with but they got rid of this completely and don't want refs looking like in Europe or world cupIt doesn't have to overturn the ref if they tell the ref to check a replay and he then decides it's a pen/
Then train people up to use VAR and how to deploy the rules of the game. People who are independent, not professional referees. No no no. So enough of this ‘ technology is great just people using it ‘ rubbish .

Oh I know, I mean that at the minute he's a £50m player that wouldn't make our starting 11Fred hasn't been on the bench for our first three games

Do you want to put an argument to my point rather than writing that?"Enough of this " ? You're dictating terms now?
The ref scurrying over to the sideline to watch a replay would take too long which I why I think its not been implemented. Guess their reasoning is that ref mistakes used to happen earlier, at least with this haf baked VAR, errors leading to goals will be avoided. It doesn't have to overturn the ref if they tell the ref to check a replay and he then decides it's a pen/

VAR is a replay, you're barking at the wrong tree bro. Shit referees will always protect themselves, I have no problem separating the 2 issues.Do you want to put an argument to my point rather than writing that?
VAR will never be consistent as it’s just another ref looking at a replay. So unless you use the same ref for every premier league game you’ll always have inconsistencies.
Am I wrong?
Well I always knew it was that but I think some thought it was some ultra sophisticated technology. It’s not.
What did you expect exactly? Who said it was anything other than that?
If implemented properly, another ref looking at replays would take away majority of bad decisions which is big improvement on what we had so far.
For some reason I highly doubt that 95% is an accurate number. With so many decisions open to interpretation, referees getting calls close to perfection in each game on average is pure delusionWell I always knew it was that but I think some thought it was some ultra sophisticated technology. It’s not.
‘ if implemented properly ‘ proves the system isn’t that good to begin with.
And no it really wasn’t that bad before. At all. Even those who like var say we were at 95% correct decisions before so your memory must be hazy
What kind sophisticated technology, who thought thatWell I always knew it was that but I think some thought it was some ultra sophisticated technology. It’s not.

Again every one loves to make excuses for VAR ‘ give it time- it’ll get better honest!’ ‘ it’s not VAR it’s the ref to blame’What kind sophisticated technology, who thought that
If implemented properly, it's really not out of this world task just to ask them to implement it properly. You saw penapty on Silva today, only insane persin wouldn't get penalty for that, and the ref missed it. However, on VAR it was showed that it was the most obvious penalty ever and yet they decided to not give it, so what exactly is technology there to blame? They simply refused to overturn referee's decision even though the penalty was quite clear. If someone was fined after this game for not showing penalty for that I am sure we would see an imprement from that set of referees in the next game.
It's not the system that needs to be working, it's just VAR room referees that need to be objective and stop defending his collegue on the pitch. They just need to implement football rules as they are and everything will be alright. If the system needs too many things to be working
Spoke way too soonPositive approach from Newcastle here.
Missed the start because watching the end of cricket. Was the positive start from Newcastle when they actually came onto the pitch?Spoke way too soon

Bench.Where is Shelvy
Been crying for one this summer. Problem is we might sign couple next summer but then Pogba would leave means we are back to square one. It's crazy how bad some of the midfields are at big clubs. United's is unbalanced and we have a distinctly average player playing every week, Spurs have Winks and Sissoko who are also distinctly average as starters, Arsenal have some incredibly average starters in there as well... Chelsea's is poorly balanced but they at least have good options there. City of course have a quality midfield, while at Liverpool Fabinho is quality with Keita as the potential to be quality, but the rest are all just functional players. Personally think if we signed a top holding midfielder we would see a crazy change.
