Last Man Standing champion 2019/20
Who gives arsenal this much space at Emirates? Seriously ? Bit of a naive from LC
Man Utd, Barcelona, Real Madrid, even Liverpool and Arsenal will always be huge moves for players regardless of CL football. We’ve qualified before and bought badly. It doesn’t effect anything. We might struggle to attract players if we don't make the CL and I'm worried players like DDG and Pogba won't hang around to play EL.
With Jose I am very confident of going to a knock out game against Arsenal or Chelsea. Well, there are good teams out there as well , so no obviously no guarantee.A better chance maybe, but we’re not winning the Europa League either - not with Chelsea in there, and indeed Arsenal if can play like this from here on out, never mind the other teams dropping down with us from the Champions League. It’s all pretty hopeless for us as far as Champions League qualification goes.
Great shout manIn the recent past, we were playing well and stumbling out without any points due to a moment of class from the other teams. Also think that Emery's halftime adjustments have been immense. I expect a 3-1 win.
I hope so. We may need to rebuild from scratch again. If not making the CL is the wake up call for wholesale changes to be made then let it be.Man Utd, Barcelona, Real Madrid, even Liverpool and Arsenal will always be huge moves for players regardless of CL football. We’ve qualified before and bought badly. It doesn’t effect anything.
What we need is to target young, hungry, talented players who want to play for the manager. I’m not interested in us targeting the ‘big names’ because they simply don’t perform to a consistent level here (apart from Dave Saves).
De Gea has earned a new contract at Barca or Real or wherever now. It’s the club’s fault for failing on the pitch for too long.
We need new owners, a new manager, a Director of Football and a few players. No more fecking around.
Like a dream come true...Great shout man
They're playing to their strengths, no problem doing that. Leicester won the league doing the same thing.Since going a goal down Arsenal have been excellent.
They're still too open at the back but they look brilliant going forward.
Buy players who suit a system, implement system, reap rewardsWatching all the teams around us go through transitional periods with a clear vision and good football is fecking depressing. What we're served up doesn't compare to any of the top 6.
The third one was sick. It was Barca-sque. Brilliant goal.Meh! This can't be right! They never should have been able to score the second like that, dammit! It's a process and requires a few years first!
They aren't operating under wanting to play a certain system of playing style. Rather, the system and playing style are dictated by the players they have. Which is how it is most of the timeBuy players who suit a system, implement system, reap rewards
Ozil has always been fast, he just picks and chooses when to hit top gearHold up, when did Ozil get a burst of pace?
Seems to be a pattern this season - play poorly in the first half and come out and dominate the second half. Not sure if it's coincidence or that Emery and his team notice what's going on and effect a change.Arsenal were so shit in the first half too. A cliche but a game of two halves this.
He's really coming in to his own this season, after being poor last season. He's arguably been our PoTY to date.Iwobi is seriously underrated. Because we value outrageous skills and goal stats so much, we tend to overlook this sort of players. You just have to look at his overall movement to constantly create space for his teammates, his hold up play, and passes as well, to understand why the manager loves playing him.
A stark contrast to season’s past where if a goal was needed, the likes of Welbeck and Elneny were the options off the bench (lack of impact subs was glaring in the tie vs Atletico with PEA cup tied). It’s great that Lacazette and Auba get along so well and have been such teamplayers (contrary to what many said about Auba), which makes it easier for Emery to leave one on the bench if he feels that’s the best course of action for a given match. Also having the likes of Auba and Ramsey coming off the bench helps.
Definitely most improved thus far. Way too early, but several contenders for PoTY so far including Torreira, Auba, and my pick Lacazette who’s shown he’s a complete striker with his hold/link up play, movement, work rate, and finishing (apart from today). He's really coming in to his own this season, after being poor last season. He's arguably been our PoTY to date.
Is this not how Emery usually plays? They aren't operating under wanting to play a certain system of playing style. Rather, the system and playing style are dictated by the players they have. Which is how it is most of the time
