We're not intentionally playing poor football. We just have a number of players who are playing poor and as a result we can build nothing. That's not an instruction. Some of these people need to have a look at their performances and they need to improve

I don't have any problem with the style. As long as the positions where we know we are deficient get sorted, I don't see why his style wouldn't work.

In probably our biggest game of the season last year against Sevilla, we played the same way.

Criticising is fine. Sheer hysteria based on a friendly with half a team is just mental. I dread to think what the Leicester match thread will be like if we go behind or are 0-0 after an hour.

I am a grown man and I understand that players can have bad games. I also understand that what happens in one game doesnt automatically mean it will happen in the next game. I also understand that the WBA game meant feck all and players usually play accordingly when games mean feck all.
The way we play is an instruction, it's coached in to them. Football players aren't defensive by nature, they are told to be.
We'll obviously be in far better shape when Matic, Lukaku and Pogba return. I'd imagine we'll have Maguire signed up before Friday also. Those 4 will make a big difference.
The reality though is that we will still be pretty dull this season attacking wise. If Jose had given Ed the name of a right winger no more than 25 years old for the right wing then he'd have everyone he wants but for some reason keeps demanding crazy expensive 30 year wingers that he knows the club will not buy
