Not getting a striker in January was criminal, now the Glazers could be looking at trying to sell a club that may not even be in Europa league? The Wolves game is massive at Home now and they've been a bogey side of years at OT. We lost a top striker in Feb last year and scraped Europa league spot. Same could happen this year.. if we don't get 3pts on Weekend top 4 gone...

I do not think we’ll get it. We have been a total shambles for 2 months now, and the pressure now is high which means we’ll completely fail.

Of course I'm not suggesting someone should bet their life. I'm saying that the drama llamas who are adamant we will bottle top 4 wouldn't be so defeatist if forced to make a rational decision, not an emotional one. The rational one being that we should still make top 4 considering we need to beat Wolves, Fulham and Bournemouth. Games you would always back United to win if you had to make a logical prediction.
I think considering our form, our inability to score goals, the evident fatigue, it's not at all irrational to say we're not going to make it. Like @AndySmith1990 said, if I had a gun to my head I'd probably bet on Liverpool. There's still some part of me that's hoping we can get top 4 but that is more emotion than logic I think because I really want us to make it. My 'cold, rational' opinion is that we'll get 5-7 points out of 12.

Just put a bet on Liverpool for top four - you can still get 2/1 in some places - I think the bookies are behind the curve on this one or maybe don’t realise how fatigued we are / how much were missing Martinez and Varane.

Lets not be to pessimistic. Why? We are still in pole position for top 4 sports. We have 3 home games where we have been very good. If we can stay away from making stupid individual misstakes, we should be fine. Both Newcastle and Liverool have tricky games ahead of them. Especially Newcastle.

It have been long season and abnormal amount of games. A World Cup, lots of injuries and internationals on top of that takes energy.

pool dont have tricky games. They wont be scared to face leicester or villa. Im more worried by how mentally weak our players look. That response after the west ham goal was just downright embarrassing

Trouble is our away form which makes Bournemouth game tough one + I don't think we can win all 3 games we've got left at Old Trafford at this stage of the season. So Liverpool dropping points would save us, which is unlikely you'd think after we gave them chance to come closer. And honestly, if they win their remaining 3 games it'll be 9 wins in a row - well done to them then, can't complain much.

Checked the Newcastle games and they have to battle with the relegation teams a lot, which might make them very very sus and it might even end up us 3rd and Liverpool 4th.

I've just done it at 2/1 thought it would have been lower myself. The fixtures they got they will win them all . I can see us fecking it up and getting 5th at best.

Wolves, Fulham and Chelsea have nothing to play for either.

Utd couldn’t have picked 4 better fixtures. We can even afford to lose one of those. People keep saying all the players are tired.
Casemiro has missed a few weeks through suspension, Erickson was out for a few months. Martial hasn’t played much Linderloff the same. Apart from Bruno, all the players have had a fair bit of rest.

No excuses at all not to get the 9 points.
Fulham with nothing to play for currently 2-0 up against Leicester facing relegation.
I think in theory it always sounds logical but the reality is it isn’t. Certain players excel when there’s nothing at stake where certain players whimper when there’s plenty at stake.

Though I completely agree with you about tiredness for the exact examples you gave. It’s just an excuse because it’s easier to say that then point out the reality in that maybe Ten Hag isn’t as good as a lot think he is and that our players are still mentally weak.

Gut feeling is Liverpool will draw one game.

Right now I'd take it going to the last game with us having to win to secure it.

I wish I read this before kick-off, I could have made a few Euros, you practically mapped out the game before it happened!
That's because I have seen the game before, over and over again since SAF retired.

When the pressure is on, we crumble. When we play away from home in London, we crumble. When we face sides who are compact and good at set-pieces, we crumble.

If its not a DDG disasterclass, its an individual error from Maguire/Shaw/Lindelof...from which we never recover because Martial, Rashford and Sancho turn into Bellion, Obertan and Bebe the moment the pressure is on!

Leicester lost 5-3 today so they should be well up for their game with Liverpool next Monday night as they now desperatly need points.

We lost 8 points in last 4 games. PL at its best. But people (and pundits) will again next season say in january that title race/top 4 is over because some team have 7-8 points lead.

Every year the same. People who watch this super hard league year after year, still manage to underestimate it.

Btw; i see that that newb Mr. Robot is banned. At least something good this weekend.:wenger:

Leicester's next game vs Liverpool becomes huge for them, especially if Forest beat Southampton tonight. My worry is they're not good enough defensively to get even a point, let alone all 3.

I think we can safely say that Brighton are out, unless they pull off a miracle in the last 20 minutes.

Can’t believe I am happy watching Brighton lose some random game… This season wasn’t supposed to end in this way.

It's us, Newcastle and Liverpool for two spots, and I think today's game showed that these relegation sides are basically the worst possible teams to be facing right now. I'd be quite surprised if Liverpool actually pull off all 9 points.

They’re obviously just looking at our remaining fixtures. All against bottom half teams with little to play for, 3 of which are at home AND we can afford a loss.

Varane is meant to be back for the next game

A big factor lately has been having nobody to bring off the bench, so Garnacho’s return is helpful

As are the week gaps

If Liverpool draw even one match, United will only need to win 2 more games of the 4.

United will still do enough, but it should have been done by now

Yeah, Brighton are out of it after this result, though they were never going to finish top 4 with their set of fixtures until the end.

It's between Newcastle, us and Liverpool for 2 places. I don't fancy us after our last 2 results but let's hope things work out well.

Brighton were never realistically in it for me.

It's always been about Liverpool.

Brighton never had a real shot at it to begin with. Today's match was one of their only remaining matches where 3 points looked like a foregone conclusion. I expect them to lose 3 more at least. The reality is that they've been battling for 6th, not 4th, and I don't think they'll even get that.

We don't either.
You'd barely handpick our remaining fixtures any differently.

We just have to make sure nothing silly happens, like a red v Southampton, or any Maguire or De Gea massive howlers.

We are 1 point ahead, with 4 games left.
Liverstool have 3 games. They are very likely to win all 3. Aston Villa may get a tie out of them (crosses fingers)
So we need to win 3 out of four. Win mind you. Chelsea and Fulham will be difficult. We will have to win one of those at least and then beat Wolves and Borne. It's going to be close and it is possible we bottle this bigly.

It's slim chances but I also have a little hope Southampton could be motivated vs Liverpool, they'll (most probably) be relegated after 11 season in PL so at least to give their fans a proud performance for one last time before heading to Championship could be a possibility.

I wasn’t surprised to drop points away to Spurs and Brighton - difficult fixtures. Thought we’d win last night though, so that result was grim and really puts some pressure on.

Urgh. This was such a fun season and felt we were making great progress but these last couple of months have taken virtually all the shine off.

Would you guys trade a top 4 finish for an almighty thumping of City in the final? I'm talking 8-0 here.
No domestic cup is worth having to watch us be dreadful on Thursday nights for yet another season. I also feel like having to through Europa is more taxing on a season than Champions League.

Need to hope Leicester some how beat Liverpool, I don’t trust this team to win 3 of the last 4 games. If Liverpool lose 1 then we only need to win 2 of our remaining games.

We need to win the games against Wolves no matter how. EtH needs to prepare the team mentally so that they go out attacking from the start and keep on pushing.
If we do our job, its puts a little bit of pressure on Liverpool and maybe they slip up against Leicester. Thats the best we can hope for.
