This game makes me hungry at times. Arthur cooking minty prime beef or oregano tender pork for dinner.

Prick is eating better than me while he sits in a bush in the pissing rain.

Just done the bank robbery mission, sad about Lenny and Hosea. They mentioned a possible rat, I’m suspecting Micah cause he’s always seemed untrustworthy.

Amazing how there’s an entirely new map no one knew about as well. Wonder if Guarma will be accessible by boat in free roam once the story has concluded?

So decided to go a bit wild, saved my game and put my executioner hood on in St Denis. To say I didn't look suspicious would be a lie.

I knifed a couple of rich folk in the alley, didn't even bother looting them, I was bloodthirsty. Ran into the tavern and chucked some dynamite down, that got them going, whistles were heard announcing the approaching lawmen. I run through gardens and over walls occasionally turning to shoot back using stumps as cover. My Cattleman Revolver feels like a pea shooter, I have to unload 5 bullets into these guys, it's in poor condition. I have no time to clean my guns, things are getting hot.

I'm chased into the alligator swamps. This is too dangerous. I whistle for Ghost and she runs through a hail of gunfire just to whinny at me and then run away. feck sake, Ghost, I whistle again and grab onto her, we run out of town, barging people down in alleyways. I shoot my way back to New Hanover where my bounty was not $500.

I see some farmers in their field. I knife one, I lasso the witness, hogtie her and put her on the back of Ghost. Take her to some train tracks for some good old fashioned killing', wild west style. Right on time, the 14:07 to Annesburg turns her into a paste. I run along side and rob the train, killing everyone in sight. I steal the train and my overzealous use of the whistle announces the novelty of doing this. I steam through St Denis, being shot at as I go. The daily commuters looked less than pleased.

I down the tonics like an alcoholic Aunt at Christmas, I'm invincible.

I get clear and my spree hits a bit of a lull. Then we hit Annesburg. The lawmen were waiting for me, their shooting has panicked the locals who have now run from the safety of the platform straight into the path of my Mad Max: Fury Road-esque steam train antics. 7 of them are ploughed down including a wagon that'd misjudged the crossing.

By now I'm weary. Ghost has long since been lost as she couldn't keep up with the train. There's blood on my hands and executioner hood. I've ruined my alligator shoes. I have no ammo and I ran out of dynamite in St Denis.

I drive the train to a secluded cliff in the Grizzlies, I shoot a nearby deer just because I can, I don't even skin it, just look at it. I throw myself off, these bastards aren't taking me alive.

You’d hope so. Especially for the completion freaks who didn’t capture all the creatures. Wouldn’t be surprised if the only way back in is to replay missions though

I really recommend against people using the gold glitch.

you get plenty by roaming around and coming across strangers and stranger missions, and doing treasure hunts. For me doing the glitch would make me lose a lot of the motivation to do these things which would completely take away from the experience. I think R* have done a really good job in balancing the money you make as you progress.

I have about 2k worth gold bars and ingots and gems sitting in my satchel right now and I'm just using them whenever I need to upgrade something, I never run out.

I neverminded the extra stuff that came with my pre-order, nevermind exploits to get that money.

Don’t see the point of circumventing the challenges the game presents, it hollows the successes as well, I feel.

I see what you're saying but your second paragraph kind of contradicts your first. You've got more money than you need and it isn't stopping you from doing any of the side quests. Me neither. I love detouring into a stranger mission, even the cut and paste escort ones because the conversation is so rich and improves the world immersion.

But it is stopping me from buying all the extra clothes, weapons, items, and camp upgrades. When I say more money than I need I mean enough to keep me going in terms of items stocked, paying bounties, giving strangers money etc. - not buying everything in the game early on.

I know it's different per person but there are strangers i've come across who you have to rob to get their gold or money or something and imo someone with 15k gold already would probably be less likely to do it and lower their honor - which totally detracts from the whole point of grey areas and tough decisions within the game.

Hop on the train at Riggs station just as it’s moving off. Get to the front of the train and throw the driver out. Stop the train on the huge bridge - the cops won’t get you, they’ll be down below on the ground.

Rob the passengers, blow the safes open with dynamite and make good your escape along the bridge.

Remember to hide your face and change your clothes afterwards. The bounty will be about $80, but you can take a lot more than that.
Ooooh ima try this. Thanks.

Just unlocked robbing homesteads as an activity from the camp. Are they quite profitable?

Also call me a sadist but I like being poor in this game. Makes it all the more rewarding when my carefully planned heist goes to plan and I’m able to treat myself to a new coat or rifle. Also makes it more tense knowing I wouldn’t be able to afford the bounty should i feck it up.

I mean the whole plot of the game (early on at least) is your gang being broke and needing to get money to get back on their feet, with missions and side missions reflecting that, which makes it even sillier that someone exploits a glitch to make Arthur absolutely minted imo.

each to their own, but ... i don't get it.

I'm the same, can't do glitches or anything. Won't even use free gifts that come with the games that give you an advantage early on.

Made my first mistake today, was supposed to just beat up a guy who assaulted Reverend Swanson but accidentally killed him. There was a witness who was going to report it to the sheriff but I also killed him. Am I safe?

Yeah man if you kill everyone before a report and make yourself scarce then you’re good. Also if a witness sees the evidence but doesn’t see you.

I did exactly the same thing  mostly because I forgot the controls and how to fight whipped out my knife and well channelled my inner Chucky and cut him up. Some guy spotted me so he had to go.

The controls get me down, they chip away at my patience and tolerance

It feels so clunky, bumping into people all the time. These people should have an understanding of what I'm facing, but no, they mouth off which inevitable ends up getting them shot in the face

Man ain't got no time for back chat

This has happened to me a lot - which is annoying as I then have to kill someone who I was supposed to use in the side quest.

Always got to make sure I am walking around with no gun in hand.

I came across a torso ripped in half tied beneath a lit railway bridge. There were some things scrawled on the wall, are they cheat codes? I know they're out in the wild. What is the torso about? I shot it down, but the creepy music still plays. Can't see what I am supposed to do, if anything.

I saw this last night too. Didn't see any writing on the walls though, I'll check again tonight.

I had no idea what it was, but I shot the two sides for the corpse to fall down, however, it did not let me investigate or do anything with the body.

Still unsure of what it meant exactly.

Make sure to find the severed head and pick up the clues. There are 3 murder scenes to find!

Dang. Now if only I wasn't so stoned at the time, I may remember where it was!
It's essentially a stranger mission. If you look around paths you might find a path of blood and limbs, follow it to find one of those murder scenes and find the severed head. If you wanna know where they are and how to beat the mission I spoilered it here:
There's one under the railway bridge south of Valentine, one south of Wallace Station on top of a hill by a rock (west of Valentine) and one east of Braithwaite Manor on a tree. Find the severed heads which each have a piece of a map to guide you to the serial killers location, which is south-west of Valentine in a cabin called Lucky's Cabin.

I let my girlfriend play while I took a shit and when I came back she was in the Saint Denis saloon. She says she wants a room, so I say walk to the bartender and press L2 to talk to him and select room. She somehow presses R2 and shoots a bottle behind the bar, panics and presses again shooting the bartender and then throws the controller at me like "sorry sorry sorry!"

Moral of the story is that you should of just taken a shit in her handbag rather than leaving the room to go to the toilet.

Yeah I'm the same. It adds to the weight behind your actions that the game quickly became known for.

I even made sure I looked poor in chapter 2, refusing to wear the jacket I bought that was too fancy for a down and out outlaw. Have smartened up a little in chapter 3. Will look like a Western Peaky Blinder later on I suspect. Maybe I'm taking it too seriously.

That the one with poor vision? There's a semi-auto shotgun in her basement. When you come back there's a lootbox with her sons.
I killed them all then entered the house and the old lady blew my head off as I hadn't killed her earlier.
