Not sure Bayern would want Sanches playing for another top club where game time will be hard to come by. They'd surely much prefer loaning him out to a mid table Bundesliga side. Though, I'd happily take him for a season, with perhaps a buying option at the end of the year

That's precisely my thought. After a year with Jose, I wouldn't think Sanches would want to be any place else.
Do I think Jose would want him? Yes...would Bayern loan/sell us a box of farts? No
Why should we develop a player for Bayern? Can't see why Bayern would insert a buyout clause as there would be plenty of other clubs who would be willing to take him without that.
Depends if they are genuinely loaning him for him to develop or if its the first step out the door before a future sale. In either case, I'm sure Jose is keenly aware of his situation.
We shouldn't. We should take him, play him, and then eventually buy him. Bayern will march on with a new batch of players with whoever their manager of the moment is.
With Rudy going to Bayern, I can see Bayern sending Hoffenheim Sanches on loan. They have been linked with Iheanacho too.
Sadly you may be right. I think he'd develop amazingly under Jose, but hey.

I hope not, even if we have the option to buy. Thought he was incredibly overrated prior to his move to Bayern and beleive its even more the case now.
If we had a option to buy at the end then yes. Sanches and Pogba would have the potential to be physically dominant midfield for years to come.

No way mate. I mantain that he isn't good enough for a top club atm. Bayern should loan him to a middle tier club for effective game time for him to continue his evolution. United should go for another top class, experienced midfielder to improve and not someone like Sanches coming off a negative year. He needs time, less pressure, matches to address the glaring flaws in his game
He's not going to improve us next season.
United currently lack quality, so rather than stack up the numbers of potential/average/squad players, Mourinho should try to improve rather take a gamble of one hyped young ones.

Transfer fee notwithstanding, I would like to see the likes of Naiggolan at United. Would really solidify that midfield.

Still not sure why we would be looking in the big clubs fire sale or bargain basement. Not saying he's not a good player but equally not as good as to make a Bayern team that only plays 6 games home and away in the league of any note?
I'm just as surprised as you - at the moment I wouldn't even mind selling him off.
Bayern won't loan him to United - they'll probably farm him out to a Bundesliga club that needs a player of his characteristics (that will be the most sensible course of action because it will take him away from the spotlight of a giant club), or maybe even back to Benfica where he might find his stride again. Sanches needs to play a lot of games for the sake of his development because he's just not suited to a big club right now, and he's not going to get that at United, and for the level we need to be at - United shouldn't be bringing in developmental player without any certainty of signing them at a pivotal time for the club. And even if we do manage to successfully bring him on loan, and then persuade Bayern to sell him (fat chance) - for the kind of money Hoeneß/Rummenigge will demand, I'd rather we signed a Saúl or Keïta type of polished (relative term) player that can make a short and long term impact - both of those players are quite young, and have evidenced better, more consistent club performances than Renato - infact, I could never figure out why Bayern bought him for that much money in the first place, and certainly didn't want United to sign him last season.

Depends on the circumstances. They may not value him therefore a 2 year loan with an option to be might be a good deal.

They have no need to sell him if he doesn't want to go.....
A loan to a German club with similar playing system to Bayern would make the most sense. He'd be closely monitored and would adapt to the league he's being groomed to play in eventually.
Why should we be developing a player for Bayern, and why on earth would Bayern choose Mourinho to help develop a young player?
Indeed... and unless there was an option to buy at the end of the loan it makes no sense for us either (and of course that's not in bayerns interest either)
As @Sultan says I suspect if he is loaned the logic is to send him to another German club to help with him settling into the country (language, culture etc)

Is he not all hype? I don't watch the Bundesliga but whenever I've seen him for Portugal, he's flattered to deceive.
Rummenigge has previously said they want Renato to replace Xabi Alonso this summer so if they now attempt to loan him out, it will be a pretty good sign that Bayern may be looking for another transfer to replace Alonso and Sanches may find himself on loan and on the outside looking in at Bayern. He's going to be a top top player imo and there's really no better manager for him than Jose and Rui to develop him further.

If we can get him on a loan then buy him off them at a reduced rate to what Bayern paid then I'm all for it.
If there is an option to buy that United can trigger if they wish, which is a big if, then fine I'd go for it. If it's a standard loan - no chance!
Why would they loan him with an option to buy? How does that benefit them...if he does well he signs for United and if he does poor then he's still their problem

This is particularly frustrating as once again he chose to go to Bayern over us. Now he is about to be shipped out as there isn't enough room for him in the squad.
