Unless Ive missed something, how can it be legal for schooling to be reduced to two days a week for football training every week yet a parent takes a child out of school for two days ONCE because it is the only way they can afford to take the child on holiday and its a fine?

Heard the game is live on Facebook on the official United and Rooney page. Maybe a change in thread title would help out people who might not know and ask for a river?

Next year would have been Anderson's testimonial.

He was so close.

Although i hate the fact that Rooney is still with United, there is no doubt that he carried United though for a while post Ronaldo and he was really brilliant from the time he joined in 2004 till 2010.

I, for one, am looking forward to the updates in the MU Facebook page thread in the general after the match, seen as this match will be streamed on our clubs Facebook page.

I just noticed that he scored 20 goals or more only 4 times in his career.
United's top goal scorer of all time, a Ballon D'or winner and by many considered to be the best player who has ever played for the club scored roughly one goal every three games, Rooney is close to one goal every two games.
Also, I think that his goal scoring is only a small part of what he brings to the team.

There should be a thread to discuss his achievements and one for the match.
I want him gone. But he's been phenomenal for this club. Especially in the first ten years.
I will never forget his performance against Spurs in the 5-2 game.
He single handedly dragged us through the mud that day. What a performance in that second half.

Agreed, more posts like this. The constant bashing is over the top.

Rooney has done more for club then Ronaldo has ever done yet one is still revived and the other is called a fat slob who should be ruthlessly sold by Jose..

Hang on a minute.. Rooney was the one who chose to stay!? he couldn't quite easily trotted off to Real Madrid or Barcelona in his absolute pomp (beast mode). Every club in the World wanted Wayne Rooney at some stage.

A bit of respect for Mr.Rooney on his big day, please. It's a great proud moment for Wayne and his family.

Dear Rooney.

I'm not your biggest fan and not thrilled that you are still here. My best memories of you are when you wore the #8 and that is a long time ago. There are many things that I don't like about you and sometimes I'm not bothered by you BUT credit where it's due. I'm not a fan of testimonials but I agree that you deserve recognition for your part is United's history. From your debut hat trick to the 2 goals against Milan to the off the shin volley against City to the pass for RVP's exquisite finish. Well done to you. Credit for giving all the proceedings of the testimonial to charity even if some suggest it's just a way to forward your brand.

We are stuck with you this season so I hope, please I hope that you disappoint me and have a fantastic season. Have a a wonderful testimonial WR8.

I think that's a bit unfair to him, given that he hardly needs publicity. I'd like to think he actually cares about these charities, and believe that to be the case.

Across the Universe....from Old Trafford.
Mourinho will play Rooney as a 9 or a 10. If he cannot produce, his days will be numbered.

I think with the team we have and the way Mourinho likes the team to play, Rooney will do well.

He is among the 10 greatest players that ever played for Manchester United.

I expect him to have a very good season.

Can we change the thread to title to say its being streamed live on facebook. People keep asking the same question again and again.

He is 4th on the all time premier league assist table with 84 assists I believe

I'm looking forward to the match tonight, I'm looking forward to seeing the team in the flesh as it's admittedly been a while since my last match. Plus, I'm taking my nephews, so not only will it be their first match at OT, but I also managed to persuade my sister (their mam) to pay for the tickets.

Today feels like a win.
