The commentators didn’t make anything of it, but taking the three points was a bizarre decision from France. If you’re not going to go for it 5 meters out, you’re not going to score four tries.

It was odd. They won a penalty so chances were decent that Scotland would give away another if they kept the pressure on.

I wasn't quite sure. Maybe they thought, let's win it first. That hasn't worked out.
They won’t get many better chances to score than from 5 meters out. It would have also set the tone. Three points gets them no where.

Yeah, that early, I'd have gone for it.

Scotland are really up for it and now they're behind, France haven't got the time to muck about (probably need 40 points now) and danger start playing 7s style rugby instead of going through the phases.

(PS they also need tries for the BP)
