Rojo gone? Last time I heard he was in Ole plans .
Martial and Lingard are far from finished, just nowhere near good enough. Rashford not finished either, just overrated. Jones and Smalling are in their prime, we renewed both so they are apparently what we want in defence. The players who are finished are the problem.
There is no rebuild that takes multiple managers and more then 3 years really. It's just a matter of getting the manager right and the players right. I have faith in Ole, and I think we'll definitely improve and be on the right track. Will it be enough to win the league and CL? We'll see. Probably not the CL, possibly the league if we do the right things. There's no quick fix here. It's a total rebuild that will take years (and probably 2-3 managers).
Sounds like a porn title.

I mean the likes of Darmian Rojo, Valencia, young, mata, matic,Martial and Lingard are far from finished, just nowhere near good enough. Rashford not finished either, just overrated. Jones and Smalling are in their prime, we renewed both so they are apparently what we want in defence.
The only finished player that is a problem is Young. Sanchez, Mata and Valenica barely even play.
Of course it is. I've seen managers that nobody thought were good enough to do things with their club even if it's short termWorld class players with an average manager is not much better than a top manager with average players. We need a top coach that is as good as the ones that manage the teams we aspire to better.
The squad management this summer will dictate how much time supporters give Ole. Mata, Herrera, Valencia and Darmian look as good as gone. Sanchez, Rojo and Lukaku will be difficult to shift. Providing the money is right De Gea and Pogba should be given the choice. Bailly should be easy to sell.
Player's I'm content with keeping:
De Gea
Romero
Dalot - squad player/potential
Shaw - starter
Smalling - potential starter with new CB
Lindelof - potential starter with new CB
Jones - backup
Fred - potential starter
McTominay - squad player/potential
Lingard - squad player
Pogba - starter
Matic - backup
Rashford - starter
Martial - squad/potential starter
De Gea
New RB - New CB - Smalling/Lindelof - Shaw
New CM - Fred - Pogba
New RW - New ST - Martial/Rashford
Meet you next year when all bar Herrera and Valencia out of this list are still stealing their living here.In any underperforming business, to put an end to complacency, rot needs to be cut out. Ruthless changes are needed with no empathy. United needs to operate in the same manner this summer.
I feel that 3/4 new signings would be like putting a sticky plaster on a broken leg. A complete overhaul is needed. It will take time for the new team to gel, but surely that would be better than watching the current lot plod about the pitch.
Young - kicked out the door, contract terminated, locked away in a dark room. Whatever it takes to get him out.
Jones - please go away. He’s been here far too long.
Herrera - his head was turned by money offered by PSG, so good riddance.
Mata - released to any takers. The 3 amigos out the door in one summer. Take his contract offer off the table.
Sanchez - offload him if possible. May need to subsidise his wages. Fingers crossed China can help us out.
Lingard - isn’t good enough for United, I don’t care if he’s an academy product. Man United players need to be able to score and assist goals.
Darmian - I don’t think anyone knows where he is anyway, so just keep ignoring him and hope he goes away.
Valencia - thankfully halfway out the door anyway. Shins around the country will no longer get bruised.
Rojo - bye.
De Gea - I never thought I would ever say this but if he really wants to go, sell him. Go and pay Oblak’s release clause
That’s 10 outgoing players that will need to be replaced with 8/9/10 new players. If this isn’t done, average players will remain at the club. Anything else will be a half-job.
Who am I missing?
We played hard ball in selling Darmian, gave Rojo a 3 year extension, gave Young an extension and offered Mata an extension. Woodward must be building a tree house from all that dead wood.I mean the likes of Darmian Rojo, Valencia, young, mata, matic,
While struggling to extend Herrera and de gea and now this form and mentality is costing us big time.We played hard ball in selling Darmian, gave Rojo a 3 year extension, gave Young an extension and offered Mata an extension. Woodward must be building a tree house from all that dead wood.
Sounds like a porn title.
I feel exactly this way! I'd rather we were short of options and forced to play youth roulette. Better that than a sure shit thing! The thought of getting rid of 10 players is more exciting than the thought of buying 10 new players
Ain’t that the truth. Woodward is turning me off Man United. It will be 3 or 4 in and about the same out. These massive clearouts never happen.
Most of the starting XI next season will be the same players.
Which is exactly how we'll continue to languish in 4th-6th. If ole genuinely believes we only need to replace 1 or 2 which assumes 1 is likely herrera leaving. Then we genuinely have to worry about him as a manager. If he can't see a club with a fundamental rot in personnel, then why have we hired him?“But, as I said, we’ve got a rebuilding job but it starts with the coaches and players, and with one or two additions.”
- Ole yesterday.

Martial? Matic? You need squad players too i know, but Martial is over rated an has offered feck all for a long time now. I agree with you on all of the above with the exception of De Gea. He's having a bad season. However, it would be a big mistake i feel to try and offload him in the summer. He's saved our skin more times than I care to remember over the years. Would you take £150 mill for Pogba in the summer? In any underperforming business, to put an end to complacency, rot needs to be cut out. Ruthless changes are needed with no empathy. United needs to operate in the same manner this summer.

I have also seen players that nobody thought were really good improve vastly under top managers. Obviously top class players could get themselves over the line at times, but with a manager that is out of his depth, the team would be inconsistent at best.Of course it is. I've seen managers that nobody thought were good enough to do things with their club even if it's short term
It’s not the fact that we were beaten by a squad way better than ours,it’s because of the way we were beaten that people are so pissed. Many of our players don’t seem like they give a damn. We still have players like Ashley Young and Lingard McTominay in our starting 11,who won’t even make the Barca reserves. Not to mention most of our players earn more than world class players in their positionBit of a knee jerk thread. When was the last time a top club signed 10 players, let alone dismiss 10 in the process?
What did people expect yesterday, to beat Barca at Nou Camp?
They've brought in Vidal and Dembele and had Umtiti and Malcom on the bench.. We're very far off that level and in retrospect lucky to even take part in the QF's.
