That's not a great price. We'll likely not see more than £32m in total. But that's £32m off Nunez's price at least rather than Mane walking on a free.

Liverpools attacking depth is proper crazy. They could still let Firmino go and it wouldn't even matter to them one bit.

That said Diaz and Nunez got big roles to fill. Jota has a fight on his hand to not be permanent 4th choice.

Well, we sold him for the same price or near to it as we bought him and he was worth it. Looks like Klopp is comitted to rebuilding and setting us up for years to come with the young strikers and anticipated move for players like Bellingham

Thank feck for that. This move weakens Liverpool.

Hopefully Salahannounced is next out of the door.
Salah will now be based on, can Liverpool afford to lose him and Mane in same summer and also, can they not afford to cash in now or lose for nothing.

Big summer for Liverpool

Of course but age catches up to everyone. Very few explosive wide players maintain a high level post, say, 32ish. Come to think of it Ronaldo is the only one I can think of.
Ribery and Robben were still ace in their 30s and Mané will also play centrally where explosiveness is not as important.

Good luck to him. Been fantastic for us and don’t blame him for wanting to try something new. Just glad he didn’t end up in PSG.

Not a surprise considering his age and the length left on his contract. Hope he does well in Germany. He's been an incredible player for Liverpool.

Glad we won’t have to face him, top player. Liverpool are smart not to break their wage structure, though, if that’s what it was about. They’re doing very well keeping wages down, I wish we could buy as well as they do.

Good deal due to his age but I feel like pool will regress quite a bit with Diaz + Darwin Vs mane + Firmino. Severely underrated imo is Mane.

Holy feck!
That actually happened? Today?

Absolutey fecking amazing signing, Brazzo is such a boss and I will never say another bad word about him, until I do.
We basically signed the real best player in the world, to replace the faux best player in the world.

Also, revenge for Thiago

“Anything less than 40m and we just keep him for his last year”

That went well.

Might as well make up some more, sell Salah for 40m and make up the rest of Nunez instead of him walking on a free.

Brilliant business. Instead of being stuck paying a player who should start declining in a few seasons world class money they send him on his way for similar money to what they signed him for and reinvest. Proper recruitment.
I agree. Well done by Liverpool.

Do they get the asthma issue as part of the package? That'll determine who ripped who off

You must be joking here? Absolutely dead deal for Liverpool.

Excellent.
Mane was frustratingly good for Liverpool.
At the moment Jota, Diaz and Nunez are much lesser players so this will hurt them, at least in the short term.

So he’s worth the same as he was when playing for Southampton?

Interesting take.

Massive undervalue here and a surprisingly poor deal for Liverpool in more ways than one

I rather have Mane than Nunez so they will be weaker this season.

If Diaz and Nunez develops under Klopp though it is possible they reach Mane levels.
Impossible. Mane was an absolute freak for them, a one-man game changing machine at times. He got them points when they least deserved them.

Lads, its bundesliga. He only needs half a lung and one leg to run rings around those defences.
You’ve done it now. You have a BDL sized target on your back.

Bayern doing some great business so far, as you'd expect from such a well-oiled machine.

Mane, Gravenberch and Laimer it looks like so far for around £60m in total initially. Outstanding stuff.

How is it impossible? Are you forgetting the level Mane was when he joined from Southampton versus the level he's leaving at?

He's just turned 30 and has one year left on his contract. Not sure how much you expect Liverpool to get for him in that situation. The alternative is to lose him on a free in 12 months (which might happen with Salah).

He's a big loss but we have to start moving on from the Firmino, Salah, Mane trio eventually. Problem is there aren't that many ready made replacements for a player like Mane. Feels like there's a shortage of high quality strikers available in the market right now.

Probably not letting his contract run down was the best idea?

Mazraoui has signed on a free, not Laimer. Let's hope though that the latter deal doesn't materialize.

It's basically the same fee as you paid for Thiago, in a very similar situation. What's fair is fair.

He’s a one contract signing for Bayern more or less. Yes Liverpool could have attempted to hold out for more but he was in his final year next year. Instead of putting him on a contract like Rashford and Martial are on now they ship him out and almost break even on their initial investment and he was a major success while he was there. I think it’s great business for all involved, the player included.

I don’t see it that way at all

A player who wants to move on, given them good years of service winning silverware now leaving for what they paid for him initially with just one year remaining and nearly 30

Utd might learn a thing or two from business like that

I rate Mane higher than Salah and far more consistent so very happy to see him go elsewhere. Great deal for Bayern.

Great player who we probably should have gotten from Southampton.
Should still have a few good years left, will be a decent signing for the Germans i reckon.

People are talking like he wanted to move on for a new experience no matter what, was it not the case that Liverpool wouldn't pay him what he felt he was worth, so he's leaving?
