The guy is class. It'll be great to have him here with his mentality. I don't think it'll happen though, probably PSG or Italy next.

I reckon he'd be Roma bound. Jose doesn't much rate Smalling and there were rumors of Everton being interested in him plus Mourinho likes himself an older center back with his lower defensive line.
United would pay him twice as much than at Roma. Roma with this version of Jose is not attractive for a player like Ramos.

Had quite a few injuries this season. Might be just a coincidence but it's likely related to the age as he generally had a very good injury record throughout his career up until now.
As you said he’s got a good injury record and is a top top player. He would instantly improve us ten fold. He scores goals too and is a major threat in the air. Imagine Harry and Sergio going up for corners. This age thing for a defender doesn’t mean much to me. He’s so experienced, not slow, and has real intelligence on the pitch. He’s a beast and I think he can cut it in the PL.

Would have a Cavani effect and allow us to spend the transfer funds in other areas

No brainier that Utd should try to sign him.

The last couple of seasons have been painful to watch. He could well go for one last paycheque in Qatar or the likes, but he's done at European level.

With his recent injury record, do we also need more wasted quids in the infirmary? Pass.

He was very much the locker room leader for France in 2018
I would say it’s very easy to be make a good speech in the locker room vs playing and acting like a leader on the pitch.

even in his Juve days he never has been a leader. His quotes, antics and general behaviour regarding his contract/transfer outside the pitch if anything is the opposite of what you would expect of a leader.

in our squad I would say Bruno and maguire are the on pitch leaders in our team

The only rumours I've noticed have been Sevilla and also that Pep likes him.
Wouldn't surprise me if Pep signs him even if he's had ties with Barcelona.

Would be a shame though, he'd be perfect to have for a few years so we could focus on signings in other areas until we find a more long time partner for Maguire.

Would be the worst scenario. I'd have to stop liking him.

Imagine having the honours he's had? Sort of had the perfect career.

Where in London? Chelsea surely won’t accommodate both Ramos and Thiago Silva and the rest of the clubs in London he’s probably got twice the trophy cabinet combined.

Why wouldnt they accommodate both Silva and Ramos? Of course they would, they play Cristiansen and Aspi in the back 3

Where the grass is greener.
Reluctantly have to applaud how Chelsea are operating these days if they end up with Ramos or Varane, aye they've got the money to do it so it makes it a hell of a lot easier, but still they're making very good moves.

UK, hun?
As good as he's been over the years, wouldn't him and Maguire be a bit slow? I thought one of the pre requisites for a new CB was top notch pace to cover for Maguire. Chelsea play 5 at the back so don't necessarily have that same problem.

Varane is renewing and Ramos to PSG or Sevilla.

Nailed on. It won't be us because if we sign Hakimi, james will move to rcb imo

He's the same tier as Thiago Silva and look how that ended for Chelsea. My first choice would be Varane and then if we can't get him, Ramos on a year rolling is smart business.

Ramos isn’t leaving Madrid to sign a 1 year contract

And they are rumoured to Kounde as well.

He is my favourite CB but I don’t like the idea of another injury prone CB.

I wanted Ramos all along. The magnificent bastard but not holding out for much hope.

Appreciate his contribution to cringy scouse outrage. His legend will always go arm in arm with Mo Salah.

Great player. The player I loved watching the most in the Spanish league. But too old for us now.

I got this

Wonder if Tuchel likes him. Between Ramos and Silva they'll have a top experienced CB for most the games.

I mean it'll be for like 1, 2 years? Play him once a week and keep him fresh and fit.
We can’t have a CB playing every second game. There must be one who can play every game or one who is always fit on the bench and for rotation. Not someone playing every second game imo.

With his run of injuries this season, I'd be seriously wary about signing him. His pace was gone before them, god knows how much slower he is now. Then there's the danger of the injuries having accelerated his decline. He's been on the wane for a couple of years now, and a season full of injuries and barely any football could very well have pushed him over the edge.

I'd wager Ramos still expects to be a starter, and Maguire cost £80m and is our captain, so he'll obviously be first choice. Ramos' lack of pace means the two of them together would be a disaster waiting to happen, so how would that work?

It just screams mega money payday and win a few pots at psg

Utd, city, Chelsea would offer a one year deal i guess. He isnt going to take that. PSG would probably offer like 3 yrs on 250k a week.

Yes I know what happened in 2015 and the age but if it meant spending big on a CDM then it's a no brainer for me, don't let things in the past cloud your judgement on this one Utd and those yankee leeches love saving money after all. Honestly believe he could have a Edi like impact on the centre of our defence because he's a born winner but fully expecting him to join PSG
