We should get him for sure and not worry too much about a buy-back clause. We can always get a replacement from the money we get from the buy-back amount. Shaw might be a good player but he can’t relied to play through the whole season.

Reguilon might eventually want to go back to Madrid but we don’t know how things will pan out and that should not really matter to us as long as the player continues to perform well. He makes excellent runs down the flank and could link up really well with Rashford.

It also buys De Gea a Spanish friend...

Needs to be done really as Herrera and now Mata will probably go too.

Its the humane thing to do Ed...

Yeah if he does eventually want to go back then just worry about that nearer the time, hopefully by then one of those young full backs from Spain we have bought might well have come through.

Even with a buyback it could be a good deal. Buy for 20 and sell for 40.

Just look at Hakimi at Dortmund on loan. Was great for them. Imagine if they were paid £20m for the pleasure of having a good player for 2 seasons. That’s a fantastic deal.

Rotate with Shaw and if need be you’ve got £40m in a few years to invest in a new LB.

Him being offered to us and not us asking about him is what doesn't fill me with confidence. Would be a very good signing though.

Yeah we should definitely still go for this deal

Chances are he won't come to us if his camp insists on a buy-back. Solskjaer has said many times he only wants players that want to play for us.
Yeh agree. And that's a good policy to have. Buy back clauses are good for feeder clubs.

Good player and good investment considering Real have Mendy and Marcelo atm. They'll be back in 3 years for him for £50m

I would like us to sign this guy looks a good little player but isn’t a top priority signing, would be a good addition but not at the expense of other signings in more needed areas.
Think it's a case of the right CB not being available and would say that's the next priority behind RW

Should be all over this.

We all know Shaws history with injuries and Williams should be competing with Laird as AWBs back up.

Shaws injury vs Southampton coincided with our drop off and I don't think it was a coincidence. Teams were happy for Williams to have the ball as 9 times out of 10 he just plays it safe on his right foot.

Reguilon will give us an attacking threat (which will give us a better option to play a diamond) and can rotate with Shaw depending on formation/defensive set up.

For 30 mill... Use the Smalling money and sign him up.

Maybe this has been answered, I haven't read all the pages before but does this not mean if " utd are interested ", then the asking price rockets and we are used as a bargaining tool again?

There's definitely legs in this one. Get him and rotate him and Shaw on the left full back position. At times we can also test Shaw out at a left center back.

That might be oles plan because Regulion is a very good offensive threat then he may go to 5 at the back and like you say he may put shaw as left CB. It would be a decent option no doubt.

There should be a thread for half the players in Europe if 'being offered' is the bar. A useful line when you need to tweet something but don't know anything.

A good left-back will enhance Rashford's game. He had a pretty average time since the injury to Shaw. Despite, Williams' tenacity and hard work he's not left-footed and opposition teams can minimise his influence on games. If finances allow both Shaw and a new left-back would be able to share 30 games each over the season.

Well could be a case of we wanted a RW, CB & AM before the window, however now Upamecano is off the table we may have decided to spend it on a LB instead. I would like us to get both ideally but can't see that happening at all

De gea is a fecking tease.

Do you reckon players follow some sort of transfer gossip and or get excited at rumours like fans at all?

Yeah, perhaps we're waiting to sell Smalling first.

Yeah he is but just hope it doesn't end up like the last Spanish player he tried to recruit for us

He kills Shaw attacking wise. The things he can do Shaw can't even dream of.

Hope we are in for him. I don't want us and injury away from Brandon Williams at LB. He can be moved to the right and see how he does there.

Full-backs need to have a balance between attacking and defensive duties. Does he outperform Shaw defensively?
I'd say he's more aggressive and attempts to impose himself more on his winger. Shaw these days is like a centreback so its tough to say Reguilons better than him defensively.

The fact its even a debate weighs in Reguilons favour as he far outweighs Shaw in attack. Overall he's a much better LB.

They have an 18 year old LB prospect who is seen as one of their biggest talents called Miguel Gutiérrez so maybe not.

No. Shaw is considerably stronger defensively IMO.

We need to get an attacking full back. I remember when we had Heinze and was looking to sign Evra after Heinze was voted our player of the year.

We need to be able to field atleast one attacking fullback. We're trying to force AWB to be that as Shaw has proven he can't be the one.

AWB is the better defensive fullback out of him and Shaw so why not partner AWB with Reguilon and bring our left side to life?
