I dont really know. But how can a company that did not even have a website few weeks ago, do huge sponsorships deals?what would market rate be for a club of Newcastles size? I assume thats inflated but honestly no clue
I mean they have to make it realistic, give it a year or two and it will be doubled, then increased yearly. They are just planting the seeds at the moment. It’s obviously a massive fudge but £25m p/y doesn’t seem that inflated given they’ll be in the CL?

I mean, they’ve set a precedence of letting it happen with PSG and City. They even put Al-Khelaifi on the UEFA board. If they don’t let Newcastle do it, you could successfully argue it would be prejudiced and unfair.Like City all over again, it's pathetic the football authorities will continue to let it happen.
If it’s not inflated, why did they not pick one of the other companies offering the same money? It’s obviously a massive fudge but £25m p/y doesn’t seem that inflated given they’ll be in the CL?
We don’t need inflated fake sponsorship deals, the club already generates enough on its own. What we need are owners who won’t keep stripping the club of money and resources, and a hard nosed business man like Ratcliffe isn’t that unfortunately. What’s the point of criticising Newcastle when more than half the forum wants the same for us?
If you want to make that comparison, that would be like United going from team viewer, that were paying us around £40m for that sponsorship to £100m seeing as Newcastle just increased theirs by 2.5x - now THAT would be unfair. What’s the point of criticising Newcastle when more than half the forum wants the same for us?
We don't need it no but that's what we will get with Qatar, we will be surrounded in this air of doubt and negativity all the time.We don’t need inflated fake sponsorship deals, the club already generates enough on its own. Yes, we don’t need it. But the owners would still do it. This is the only way of converting Qatar money to United money. If/when we win something, Qatari Emir will be claiming credit like a dictatorship. Just see the response to City’s win.We don’t need inflated fake sponsorship deals, the club already generates enough on its own. Football as we all know it, died a long time ago. It's not been about jumpers-for-goalposts for 20yrs now.We don't need it no but that's what we will get with Qatar, we will be surrounded in this air of doubt and negativity all the time.
What the majority of posters thought about city yesterday and the death of football, we become a nail in that coffin.
I ain't arsed either way but people need to be aware of what they want.
I myself want Qatar, I've said it numerous times across different threads.. I want them purely for the simplicity of their offer.Football as we all know it, died a long time ago. It's not been about jumpers-for-goalposts for 20yrs now.
I'm happy to say I want Qatar purely because I think they'll do a better job than Ineos. I don't want them cooking the books to do it though, I just want them to run it so much better than the Glazers.
But there's a part of me, like a lot of supporters and yourself, that despise the way its all gone with money. And to be fair, that's not Qatars fault, that's just the way it is.
I was looking back and wondered when all this silly money/fantasy football started, like when did it turn and get obscene. When did it move away from that raw, grass roots footslball feeling I grew up with.
I then thought it all started with Neymar going to PSG for stupid money, £200m. But then as my dad pointed out, it was a massive deal when Trevor Francis went for £1m back in the 80s! So maybe this money trajectory has always been there and is just the nature of the beast.
Completely agree.I myself want Qatar, I've said it numerous times across different threads.. I want them purely for the simplicity of their offer.
But am I bothered if SJR gets in? No I'm happy to see positives in both offers and deal with any negative at the time rather than beating myself up over unknowns.
Either way ensure Glazers go one way or another and I'm good with that.
Or, maybe it’s because they are owned by the same people who own the club? If we are owned by Qatar would you be fine with us getting 250 million a year from a Qatari company that’s owned by the state?I think 25m is the going rate for a champions league side. Spurs is around 40m.
I think paranoia is settled into manys minds because it's Saudi
It's not, we're looking for about £40m I think. It’s obviously a massive fudge but £25m p/y doesn’t seem that inflated given they’ll be in the CL?
The OP being one of the biggest cheerleaders. What’s the point of criticising Newcastle when more than half the forum wants the same for us?
SJ is not the Qatari state. PIF that own Newcastle is literally the Saudi state. The OP being one of the biggest cheerleaders.
