What a cowardly disgusting act, shooting from a window, is this some sort of game to the person? So many lives and families destroyed, truly sickening.

If you're referring to completely milled lower receivers you are correct. I personally held a glock 80% milled last week that a friend ordered via mail. No serial on that.

Sounds like it. Someone on Reddit said the rate of fire changes, which is what happens when it's modified in a certain way.

Stephen Paddock, 64, is the man suspected of opening fire from the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas Sunday night, killing more than 50 people and injuring more than 200 in what is now believed to be the worst mass shooting in US history, police said today.

Police responded to the scene Sunday night and breached the door to the suspect's room on the 32nd floor. He is now dead. Officials said they did not believe there were any more shooters. Police said "numerous firearms" were found in Paddock's hotel room at Mandalay Bay.


The alleged gunman was believed to be a local resident, police said, and the motive was unclear. Paddock appears to have worked as an accountant or auditor. He was also a licensed hunter and private pilot.

Frames = no legal requirement for serial #

Receivers = legal requirement for serial #

It might not have been a true full auto, it might have been a bodge job. Functionally it simulates a full auto, but not as reliable or as consistent rate of fire wise.

The rate of fire sounded around 600-650. The boxes that tick are among others, any number of ak variant. Possibly a browning .30 cal. Police also reported he had a bunch of weapons in the room from what I've heard.

Either way, whether it was a legit full auto, or a semi-auto modified to be full auto, or bump firing to simulate, he was using some 100ish round magazines or belts. The very first burst of fire was somewhere around 100 rounds that were for all intents and purposes, fully auto, with rounds per minute of, like I said already, somewhere around 600-650. About thirty seconds after the first burst, a second burst of around 100 hits again. About a minute after the first, burst began, another burst of around 100 hit. Totally fecked up. People suck.

Makes sense. Bottom line, you can legally buy a hunk of metal or plastic and turn it into a weapon.

My neighbor does this with AR receivers too. No idea if his have serial numbers. I know he buys them on internet and they ship to his doorstep so I'd suspect not since it would have to be transferred via licensed dealer.

Yes. Guns work in different ways, but generally there's something in the trigger mechanism, be it a sear or a disconnector, that prevents the gun from from firing more than once per trigger pull. These can, by someone with the right tools and know-how, be modified to allow the gun to continue firing as long as the trigger is held down. It's very illegal.

Could very well have been a bump fire (which I have no idea how those are allowed to be made)

I know. I've made one. That's why I'm saying a receiver has to have a serial #

If he's doing that, does he have an FFL license himself?

If not, turn him into the ATF

As much I bitch about this very thing -

Terrorism - the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population or any segment thereof, in furtherance of a political or social objectives.

You can see how very few shootings actually fit this criteria.

My point is, why is this never in the Uk for example? Anyone white and determined could get one and would accept the consequences. Yet it don't happen. I guess, the motivation ain't there for whitey or maybe their motivation isn't since people here have a different mentality to weapons. It's only important in a place where they want to remove that right to defend yourself. Anyone serious and deranged wouldn't give two craps about it being illegal to carry a weapon anywhere but it's always political.

This is no exaggeration but most of the people I know simply change the channel when it comes to mass shootings in the US. After Sandy Hook I realized that nothing would ever happen to stem this slaughter of innocent people for the sake of profits. I've truly lost every bit of empathy here.
