Can only really blame woodward
and solskjaer for the calamity of a squad we have. No matter what fans say as the report published by credible sources the identity of players for transfers is solely given the go ahead by Phelan and Solskjaer, why when Ndombele, Le Celso, Rabiot, Cellabos and Tielemans were available did Ole only prioritise Longstaff when we have needed a replacement for Fellaini as well as Ander Herrera.
Who in their right mind replaces an established striker in Lukaku by putting faith in Rashford who hasn't amassed more than ten goals in three league campaigns ? Ole is coming across as being too small in personality and stature to handle this job adequately. One week before Sanchez departure he reinstates Alexis is quality indicating he has a future, the moment he leaves he comes out with a statement contradicting his original statement. Why has none of Gomes, Chong, Garner or Greenwood started a fixture despite Ole's rumblings regarding the implementation of youth pre season, when many outfield players have displayed poor form in the opening games.
This might sound like a load of rubbish but every point above correlates heavily to the perception that the squad is fringe. The reality is the squad isn't as bad as many believe but because of the teams capabilities under Solskjaer it seems far worse. The narrative always changes with fans, under Mourinho many indicated the team is quality but the manager isn't good enough. Ole has come in now all of a sudden he's a good manager and the team doesn't have the quality to evoke his managerial class
do we have any less of a squad than Wolves, Palace and Southampton ? Are those not 9 points dropped or are fans deluded to back a limited manager to the extent standards have to be lowered to prove the "time" argument.
If Ole fails to pick up results in the next three fixtures he's in trouble. 3 wins in 15 and counting.
