Mbeumo is a player I like - and he apparently hasn't too long left on his contract (2026) - he might be available for £30 million

Wissa is the striker at Brentford and Mbeumo is a wide attacker.
If Mbeumo is available for 30mil then there will be an avalanche of clubs in England and Europe that will come in for him!

Yes he is and apparently wants to come to England.
Of course by being a free agent he will want big wages so I wonder how highly he rates his services.

I think if we were interested in him we would have moved for him instead of Zirkzee last summer.
I know we had a different coach but the backroom staff were in place by then and if what Ruben had at Sporting is anything to go by he prefers a more physical presence up front.
I think David is an interesting option as he definitely knows how to score a goal and I imagine he will do well wherever he ends up.
 
I do feel we really need a Watkins/Mateta (yes I know they are later 20's) to supplement Delap. My gut feeling is that we couldn't fund it, so suspect we keep faith with young trio of Hojlund, Chido and Delap which is enormous risk.

Absolutely fine just realistic, when we got linked to him reports soon after said there is feeling he will go elsewhere in the summer (Arsenal) so that's my reasoning.

Do wish Moise Kean was on the list but then I doubt we have interest, I am fairly sure Delap will be it for incoming strikers barring a very unexpected bid for Hojlund that makes it financially viable to move him.

He’s not very good, or anywhere near as good as the hype suggests. There’s a reason no good PL team has been linked (Arsenal have since they got in Berta but he’s known for his terrible transfers)
 
Doesn't matter who we buy at this point. How we attack doesn't benefit anyone and apparently its easier to become an astronaut than learning how to attack, R9 couldn't score in this team.
 
Anyone. Almost all premier league strikers would be an upgrade now.
Delap and Vardy, both relegated- but upgrades.

But needs a top number 10 and a fit Amad too.
 
Changed vote to Mateta, younger than Watkins and definitely outshines him yesterday

Positive take is that we are definitely signing a starting striker.
Negative take is that all roads lead to Delap.
Osimhen wants huge wage from Saudis, Gyokeres is close to Arseal, Isak is too expensive.

I wouldn't eliminate anyone spare perhaps Osimhen.
 
If we end up getting delap, it will be interesting as I can't recall if we have ever had two forwards (no9 and no10), who are comfortable with shooting with either foot.

Delap has caught out a few keepers, as you can't tell which foot he's going to take the shot with.
 
Something about Sesko that makes me think he'd be the right man to go for.
He seems to have the swagger to make it at a club of Uniteds stature.

Odd that he left out several notable leading contenders.
 
I think there might be a case that if we win the Europa league and shift out Hojlund we could have Delap as second choice behind a pricier option. Unless the plan is for Cunha to play a fair amount of games up top, in which case we should probably be looking at more options for the wide 10 roles.
