I'm pretty much on the Sesko's train, if Gyokeres is impossible to come. There are a lot of factors to evaluate here. Cost being one. Mutual interest. Profile. Of the more realistic ones I'd say 1) Sesko 2) Mateta.
I think Cunha will be our most expensive buy this summer. Therefore a £30mil delap or £40m mateta are more realistic than a £60-£70mil Sesko. There are a lot of factors to evaluate here. Cost being one. Mutual interest. Profile. Of the more realistic ones I'd say 1) Sesko 2) Mateta.
Should add Vlahović to the poll as aside Gyökeres I don’t think there’s a better option available this summer. The latter is the obvious answer if we can lure him though. There are a lot of factors to evaluate here. Cost being one. Mutual interest. Profile. Vlahović has a one in two goal contribution rate this season just as he has his entire time at Juventus despite their turgid football under Allegri for most of his time there. Bit better than Højlund that even without taking into account his overall play which is excellent. He’s available for that amount because he’s in the last year of his contract and Juventus are skint.Vlahovic has a 'Hojlund' kind of season in Turin. On Juventus forum there are people who would take 25-30 million for him and ironically there are rumours about Juventus being interested in Hojlund.
Yeah, it's been that bad.

Sour grapes from Juve fans.
I suspect he is going elsewhere anywayGyokeres was poor tonight, let’s see what he does next week in the title match.
I am Serbian and trust me Vlahović is sheite. He's been pretty poor for our national team and he's struggling in Serie A which is not really a top league. He's already a Juve reject and Juventus wants to get rid of him.Should add Vlahović to the poll as aside Gyökeres I don’t think there’s a better option available this summer. I said his goal contribution rate which has consistently exceeded one in two for Juve and is .67 per 90 in Serie A this season. But at .46 per 90 in Series A this season even his goal rate is basically one in two so you’re still wrong as his CL numbers are even better this season at .66 G per 90 and .82 G/A per 90. Seems pretty impressive, especially for such an inept attacking side. What am I missing ?He never had one in two goal contribution rate while in Juventus and he only once managed to score more than 10 league goals for them, in 2023/24 where he was very close to such contribution. This season he has 9 goals in 26 games in Serie A (Hojlund scored the same amount for Atalanta in few more games) and 14 goals in 38 games all competition. Also, the problem is that his overall play deteriorated which is probably even bigger concern (happened not only under Allegri, but Motta this season).
He never was techniqually brilliant, but at the start of his career he actually showed much more in that regard. There are also rumors about off the pitch behavior and lack of work rate/care. Overall, I just don't see him as a type we need in this moment. Think he would add to existing problems, not help.
Thing about Vlahović is that he looks extremely good in highlight reels as some of his goals look brilliant, but deeper picture is quite opposite or frustrating. He gaves away the ball cheaply, decision making is far from ideal and often shots from imposible angles. Maybe a change of scenery would transform him, but I think we would end up more or less frustrated as Juventus fans. Sour grapes or not.
See stats and question above. Doesn’t seem to be struggling to me. Definitely not shite.I am Serbian and trust me Vlahović is sheite. He's not good enough for the EPL. He's going to turn to Hojlund 2.0 if he comes to United. United needs to buy a EPL proven striker or a striker that he very good stats in a non Prem domestic league. There's no way that we are going to buy Gyökeres, so we should look to players like Mbeumo or Wissa. Mbeumo would be a really purchase.

Well the .46 per 90 number I got from FBref directly correlates to a goal every 195 minutes. If you want to check it just divide 90 by 195.Honestly, am not sure how you got to such numbers (especially this season). If you go by minutes/goals in the league, he scores every 195 minute and has like 4 assists all season in Serie A. But the eye test, his decision making and shot selection has been even bigger problem.
People thinking he's been pretty shit, you don't. Thats fine I guess.
Mbuemo isn’t a player suited to leading the line, so who would you suggest for that role?I am Serbian and trust me Vlahović is sheite. Mainly due to what don Ornstein saidInteresting that all talk of Osimhen has gone quiet
Thank goodness. Playing on loan in Turkey in his prime after falling out with his current club and yet so many were still chomping at the bit to sign him on for a big fee on big wages. Will be in Saudi Arabia next season most likely.Interesting that all talk of Osimhen has gone quiet
How many more times he fell out with them because of a tweet with racist connotationsThank goodness. Hasn’t there been a lot of social media weirdness surrounding him for years now though. He just seems to attract drama. How many more times he fell out with them because of a tweet with racist connotations
I'm from Slovenia and I wouldn't take Sesko to Premier League. I don't think it would suit him physically. He needs space to run into and would suffer playing against teams defending deep. I would also probably not sign any player from Bundesliga. Really elite ones in good years are usually not available as they are at Bayern or getting transferred to Bayern and generally our success rate with Bundesliga players is pretty poor to say the least (Maz and DeLigt excluded for now but signs are good for those two, Hargreaves unfortunate with injury - still think Bayern knew why they sold, same with Bastian as he was past it when transferred, Shinji never got going, Mkhi, Jadon and Sabizer make you cry your eyes out):Surely Sesko is another Hojlund potential signing whereas Mateta is more of a surer bet
He's world class but in a weird way wouldn't exactly guarantee you too many goals. What about Lautaro Martinez if we couldn't get Gyökeres, certain that Osimhen is off the table
Yeah I know what you mean by that, would probably only work if we had plenty of goals from elsewhereHe's world class but in a weird way wouldn't exactly guarantee you too many goals.
I don't if we should go for him.
Yeah he would cost a bomb too. The striker market is so poor this summer.Yeah I know what you mean by that, would probably only work if we had plenty of goals from elsewhere
Gyokeres seems like a disaster waiting to happen, given the state of our attack.Gyokeres was poor tonight, let’s see what he does next week in the title match.
So who should we sign if you think Gyökeres is going to replicate his Coventry form and totally flopGyokeres seems like a disaster waiting to happen, given the state of our attack.
He already failed to make it in England at 24 (41 goals in 110 appearances for Coventry in the Championship after washing out at Brighton is hardly anything to write home about) and has only shown up in the Portuguese league in a team that's been dominant. Whether that's down to him, I don't know -- but he's far from a sure thing. He could do a Salah of course, but at the prices quoted, he seems like a bigger gamble than most on the list.
Sporting is dominant because of him, take him out and they are average.Gyokeres seems like a disaster waiting to happen, given the state of our attack.

So is that your way of saying you would wait until there are better options, in which case should we look to bring in two number 10's who can provide guaranteed goals and assists.Yeah he would cost a bomb too. The striker market is so poor this summer.
Yeah he would relish the Old Trafford stage, however if those reported wages of 300k plus are true then no way will he ever sign for this clubI have watched all of Galatasaray’s games this year. Osimhen is GOD! I don’t recall I’ve seen such a a dominant player for years. He is capable of doing a lot alone, be at the right place at the right time, fight for the team, defend, attack, defend attack non stop. Crazy how much energy and will power he has. Mentality is so strong. Alone he has managed to gather the whole team together and is always in the front row in all fights. In less than a year he has managed to make himself a legend at Galatasaray and in turkish football.
I know Turkish football isn’t premier league and is not a top five league but you can see that the will is there, the technique is there, the instinct is there and most importantly the disciplin and mentality is there.
We need him in our team cost whatever it cost! We should not stop paying large wages for the right player who deserves it but avoid paying record fees for players that has not been tested at highest level or players that has won everything and don’t care more
Osimhen is HUNGRY! you can see from the way he plays, fights. He wants succes. He want big things.
We need him. He is definitely top 5 worldwide right now and most likely would stay there next 5 years. The team in PL that gets him will most likely fight for the league next year… we neeeeeed him. Pay him what we pay Bruno. To star players should be able to do a lot for us next year. With Rashford, Sancho and Anthony out his wage would be more than covered by these players “saved” wages
Moise Kean, anyone?

Martinez would be my choice outside of those two, yeah those two definitely accelerate things but neither looks likely for very different reasonsPersonally prefer Gyokeres as he knows the system and we've seen him excel playing in it. However I will say Osimhen might be a more well rounded player and he'd add aerial threat where Gyokeres doesn't so I wouldn't be unhappy with him.
If we get neither I'll be really disappointed as I think they'd both accelerate our fight back to the top. I don't think we can underestimate what a striker with a big presence would add to this team.
