These reinforcements are such a turn off, most players I wanted are still in it and the best releases tend to be United/Dutch and thus blocked by Ruud

There was nowhere to go with a 4-4-1-1 which could be hardly improved upon
Upgrading marginally to a more continental than direct style with Nedved-Möller-Laudrup replacing Kewell-Nedved-McManaman. Laudrup rules out Petrescu, but no Alves as he would block 2-3 players I'm more interested in than what he has on Srna.
Do Srna and Laudrup have much on Petrescu and McManaman? Not really, not at all actually (I'd rather had kept Petrescu), but I may as well get further depth of options and not carry whatever irrational dislike people have for McManaman. Nah, nothing irrational about not liking him, the irrational part is underrating him.

The only upgrades I can think of to our team are the CBs. Maybe Sheva for Shearer, but I personally prefer Suarez-Shearer to Suarez-Sheva.

Yeah. We wanted him too though CB was a priority first pick. We'd have taken Giggs if he had lasted back to us.
It depends on the playing 11 imo. Most teams have players to have played with each other to be used as subs. It's the manager's job to ensure no overlaps.
It does. All I was wanting to do would be to provide a check of overlaps that's all to avoid what happened last round.
Remember everyone, you have to name a three man bench. You can't use all your squad as subs.
