Pogba has been playing no 10 for the last 2 months. Ever since we completely flopped playing a 4231 against Spurs Mou realised he had to change things up and after that started playing Matic and Herrera together as 2 dms and pushed Pogba further forward into the no 10. Herrera played every game in the league since the Swansea game at the end of March (I think).

Pogba’s not a traditional no 10 because of his style of play not because of his role in the team. Whether you like to bomb forward or drop deep is irrelevant, when you’re the guy sitting in front of 2 dms you are the no 10 and it’s your job to do that role, we saw that a lot with Rooney who played there a lot but never really fit the no 10 mould (and we suffered for that). Besides it’s pretty clear that Mou is trying to mould him into a no 10 based on Pogbas own comments about Carrick teaching him how to make the Lampard runs and seeing Pogba trying very hard to make more runs into the box and be a presence and goal scoring threat.
There is no midfielder in the world today that possesses Pogba's all round attributes that canmake him effective anywhere in the midfield and in any formation. I will always stand by that assertion. His combination of physical and technical attributes are very unique. This is why I am often baffled by the debates about where Pogba should be playing. For me, he is a midfielder, simple. Left, right, near the box, deep, etc. Pogba can play anywhere in the middle and shine. The loss against Chelsea distracted many people from seeing how he fared in that game. I thought he was outstanding minus the sitter he missed. He cut out showboating drastically and kept the ball moving a bit quicker than usual. He hardly lost the ball and he created space and chances. Pogba just needs to be consistent and develop a more professional / business minded approach to games. A 'DeBruyne' like attitude if you like.

So, can he play as a number 10? For me, that's a yes. But if we get the right players in during the Summer, he can or should be drafted elsewhere in the middle of the pack and that should depend on the formation deployed.

What? you are happy we are signing anyone? We signed players without CL football why wouldnt we be signing anyone after finishing 2nd? What?
I meant signing anyone as in "I'm happy for a signing" because I need something to be excited about. Not "I'm relieved we're signing anyone due to how shit we are".

I'm especially happy that I know nothing about this player so there's always a chance I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'm being amazed every day by the ignorance of all premier league teams' fans, first Everton fans now MUFC fans, I mean do you guys only watch premier league, don't you even the watch highlights of Champions League games other than English teams, Beşiktaş has finished one Champions League group as a group leader and they were mismatched by German giants B.Munich in the round of 16.

When Beşiktaş became the champion of last two years of Turkish League, Talisca was the key player in their system for the last two years, he plays the role of attacking midfielder in the lineup, but he is mostly in the free roaming mode and you can use him as a second striker if you have center-forward like Lukaku who can give hell to the defenders. He was like a black hole when he joined the team last year, a turnover king, but this year he has improved his passing skills and defensive skills and he was even invited to the Brazilian national team, but as it was expected he couldn't even play for a single minute, both because of Turkish League's ill repute and abundance of choices in his position in Brazilian national team. He can score in every three of ten long distance free-kicks, his style is similar to Gareth Bale's, knuckle ball style.

Talisca can also be a powerful aerial threat, for confirmation just check out his Champions League goals. When he has two powerful midfielders behind him like Pogba and Matić, he will shine like a star, he won't score less than 20 goals. With Beşiktaş, he used to play with two physically weak midfielders, so he was under pressure all the time, yet his stats were 37 goals 14 assist in 80 matches.

I'm guessing your Turkish (sorry if your not).

Who would you say was more ready to play in the Premier League. Tosun or Talisca?

Never thought I would see the day where we are battling with Wolves for the same midfielder

Only watched him a few times and he's been really good in the CL. What stood out for me is his speed (he's lightning quick despite being very tall) and his habit of making a quick pass or shot to catch defenses off guard.

He's not a star signing, but more of a diamond in the rough. Maybe that's what we need since a lot of our big signings have struggled.

I agree with your post about ignorance.

It always amazes me how many people will watch a highlight reel or possibly a few games and decide a player is crap/class

Talisca, easily. I'd go as far as saying that technically and shooting wise he's a class above every god damn player that we have from the midfield up.

Don't understand ignorant fans not considering leagues like Turkey, France etc. I smell some bitterness here.

Apparently Fred its a done deal, so if these rumours about Talisca are true i believe hes coming for the "Fellaini role". Mourinho will throw him in the pitch when we need a goal to hoof the ball to Talisca. Hope i'm wrong because i think he could do more in another context.

People just like to pretend they know more about players than they do, in fact id go as far to say that some have to have an opinion even if its based on feck all.

Good to hear from people like yourself who have actually watched him.

I am Turkish and I can answer it I guess. The answer is by far Talisca. Tosun had an excellent Champions League campaign this year and he has been developing consistently over the last 3 years but Talisca was the talisman of that team and he could play for any league. Talisca was the difference maker for Besiktas as he led them in Champions League too.

Tosun was ready for EPL too, but Everton was the best team he could go. Talisca can play for the better teams.

I have decided not to believe any rumor unless it comes from transfer God Di Marzio himself! Waste of time trusting the other journos.

Yes, I'm Turkish, about the question you asked, Tosun has German background, so he is a very good team-player and a well disciplined one, but he is not a game changer like Talisca. I mean he has almost everything, a long shoot taker, free-kick specialist, power-header, dribbler, long passer. Talisca's only bad feature is his lack defense abilities. But when you have this much effectiveness on score sheet, it's tolerable. If you have watched Rivaldo, he is the 2.0 with aerial threat add-on.

Why haven't we signed him yet?
Probably because of the president of Beşiktaş, he always tries to get as much as he can from transfer bids, he is a greedy one. Since Beşiktaş has the option of buying him until 30th of June, he will first agree on the deal with MUFC, than buy him from Benfica and sell him back to MUFC with a considerable profit.

We are supposedly interested in Bringing someone in to fill in for Lukaku if injured or in games where we need an extra man up front. If Fellaini goes, then Talisca could do that job, but better than Fellaini did it. For 25/26 Million he is worth a shot.

Shame. I was warming to him being our new Fellaini. Would be a better, more technically gifted version.
Think he's a backup option for us if we can't get a back-up striker. I'm sure we have a list of players we want and players we want if our other option isn't available. Make sense to contact everyone at the same time so you don't waste any time.

FYI we had apparently agreed terms with Talisca last season. He might be the new Gaitan or we might actually get him.

Meanwhile Talisca teasing us by posting Instagram's story of him playing United against some South American teams on FIFA 18.
