In actual tennis chat, for some reason I think Zverev is more likely to take out Djokovic than Medvedev. I think he’ll beat either in either straights or for the loss of a set, though.
Zverev has beaten him and is in great form - however I feel the anger of the missed olympic medal can spur Novak on. From a matchup POV, Zverev has a great serve, but Djokovic can return so that'll be a fascinating encounter. I think Djokovic is more likely to maintain composure if things don't go to plan, so he's got the edge for me.

Medvedev is great defensively and he's breezed by so far, not sure how he'll fare against the Serb. And don't completely discount Felix either.

I honestly don't even consider himself as a contender for this title even with him in the SF. I'd be absolutely amazed if he ends up as champion.

He can beat Medvedev. Will be a close match, reckon it goes 5 sets.

Absolute dogshit from Sabalenka. Fernandez done absolutely nothing to win the match, Sabalenka literally beat herself. Weak ass mentality.
Fernandez done absolutely noting to win the the match?
What? She literally fighted for every single point. Incredible to handle the shots from Sabalenka like this in combination with their defense.

Radacanu up a break early having saved 7 break points in her first two service games. 3-0 to the Brit-Chinese-Canadian-Romanian

It's actually been an incredibly close match with all of games being tight. But Raducanu is up 5 - 0. Winning the clutch points.

It's really not. Sakkari was all over the place in that bar the last 2 games. Those set stats are horrid.

Expect her to come back into it though.

Yes exactly, I feel Djokovic will play with a chip on his shoulder tomorrow against Zverev. Hopefully no slow starts either.

I recall ever since Nishikori beat him in the US open he went on to beat him in 16 straight sets.

Really nice power and placement on those groundstrokes. Good serve too. Looking like a future number 1 put there.

That was a terrific game by Raducanu. Sakkari finally seemed energised after holding from 2 break points and then Raducanu holds to love to calm things down.

Who on Earth are these teenagers, and how are they both in a US Open Final?
First all teenage final since Hingis vs Serena in 1999(US Open) Yes the women's is a bit weak/open right now but both these youngsters look very good. Raducanu in particular has the game to be top of the world.

Womens top players are nothing specialist these days? The opposite situation of the men's over the last 500 years it seems.

I hope at least one of them goes on to have a career akin to Hingis or Williams.

I find it insane that an 18-year old is in a US Open final at her first appearance in a grand slam tourney, and that she's done it without dropping a single set. We watch sports for these fairytale narratives.

Her movement man, look how she moves. Her footwork is incredible, so natural. Such a natural athlete, strong as well, look how low she gets on certain points. Her backhand is a thing of beauty. Her one weakness is her forehand, it’s a bit hit & miss, but it’s certainly not terrible and you can even see that becoming a weapon in the future. Incredible talent, and great to see 2 talented youngsters in a final of a Slam!

Last time I remember being in awe of a player that young was Sharapova when she beat Williams aged 18. Then again part of it could be my 17 old self crushing on her.

I haven't really followed this US open so knothing about this Radacanu but it would be more fun for everyone if this happened when the women's field was good with a really great opponent in the final.

Yeah solid movement and that's what allows her to hit those sweet groundstrokes. Great point about her athleticism as well.

I know she’s probably had a bunch of sponsor money already and earned 6 figures from Wimbledon but imagine sitting your A-Levels and then a few months later you’re playing a game of Tennis where if you lose you get $1,250,000 and if you win you get $2,500,000.

She’s hardly played any type of competitive tennis at any level the past 2 years thanks to Covid, it’s insane!

I would wager a bet that money has never been an issue for her family.

There aren't any dominant players currently like Serena, Novak, Federer or Nadal in their prime however I think the strength in depth is there with a lot of very talented youngsters at the moment. Picking a winner before the tournament is extremely difficult moreso because of the depth than lack of quality in my opinion.

In R3 alone there was Muguruza vs Azarenka, Kerber vs Stephens and Sakkari vs Kvitova. That's ignoring other good but not as big match up.
