Sad.

I don't like that the man responsible for some of my best memories supporting United is such a prick.

Just hope he does a Nistelrooy a while after his career is done, admits he was a fanny at the end of his time here and takes responsibility. And fecks off Piers Morgan.
Genuine general question…I see this written a lot on forums…what memories is Ronaldo himself responsible for?

I have some great goals - albeit none of huge importance except the Porto one, the Fulham one….Arsenal in the CL is probably a great moment but that was an epic team performance. Sorry CL final goal obviously but then he missed a penalty. Am I just forgetting loads of great individual memories? Again genuine question.

Champions League Final goal sticks out. Probably his most important one.

I was there at Old Trafford parallel to him when he scored that free kick vs David James. Best goal i've ever seen live.

That performance vs Roma in the 7-1

Watching him turn from a promising player to the best player in the World

Generally that team under Fergie in the late 2000's. So dominant. Players trying to kick him out the game but he'd just get up and carry on.

I really thought when he came back it would solidify his legend status and be so amazing. But he isn't the same person he was then, fames got to him. And it's sad.

Really?

Ronaldo has given United fans alot of memories.

There are probably loads more but the ones that stick in my memory.

Roma away - towering header
Porto away
Arsenal Away
Portsmouth home
CL goal against Chelsea

He gave us alot of moments, I even recall that backheel goal he scored but forgot the opponent.

Yeah those are the ones I recall…it’s not much is it considering the high regard he is held in. I mean he scored a shed load and there was an air of inevitability about him for about 18 months. But really in terms of classic classic Utd memories…not many imo.

could be a good thread - what players have given fans the greatest amount of memories during their time at Utd? Dare I say Ronny would not feature all that prominently?

I'm not a united fan but I can remember some "United Moments" Oles goal vs Munuch, Cantona chip and celebration, Rooney overhead, Giggs vs Arsenal (and a lot more that I can't remember/didn't see) that I would probably put over Ronaldo's contributions.

Even Macheda probably has a better "United Moment" than Ronaldo.

Yeah he had an unbelievable couple of seasons…but proper Utd moments I can’t think of that many.

The guy just can’t accept his age. He is going insane and doing stupid things. What a sad end. Ronaldo doesn’t realize his current real level.

Ronaldo part 2:

1:34 Bruno stole my goal and my armband
1:56 I am much better looking than him
2:55 Adidas hate me because I signed for Nike
3.01 They don’t hate me but they don’t love me
3:07 Actually they are a great company but they should have signed me
4:20 Jordan Peterson told me I was insecure because I got Botox in my penis
4:22 I am sexier than Jordan Peterson
4:25 Will Portuguese football exist when I retire?
1:04:11 Interview ends.

No goal but I have a feeling he'll score against South Korea. Which would at least make him forget this

Maybe I missed something about Ronaldo in this tournament but the other players seem to be carrying him a bit in that Portugal side.

He doesn’t do a whole lot. I don’t see how his performances have improved since in the Europa league with us.

He seems to be more focused but overall still poor. He could still score of course but all in all he's far from his best.

That bar isn't high, to say the least... But Actually I think he is doing clearly better than that. He hasn't been a burden for this Portugal team so far. He's done the bare minimum for a forward (which is much better than what he was producing in the EL). Contributed to opening the score in both games (Albeit with a dive in the first one...).

I cannot imagine what would happen if Portugal actually win this world cup
I love Portugal. Been 5 times on hol there. I loved Ronaldo when he was first here under Fergie, but I hope they go out next round to shut that bloke up, once and for all. Let him rot football wise in the desert getting his obscene wages if true hes signing for the arabs.

How dare you people show such disrespect to Ronaldo the legend. He says that he definitely feel that the ball touched his head before the ball went into the net. We must believe him. What does the in-ball technology know? I'm very sure the in-ball technology was faulty at the exact moment when Ronaldo headed the ball.

The free kick against Arsenal, the CL Final header but the most memorable goal he scored was against West Ham. Not because of him but Berbatov pulling a rabbit out of the hat.

Bloody hell, just like the ones who won't hear a word against him, you people who are trying to reduce him to a mere footnote in our history are just as odd  :houllier:

I would definitely say he is a footnote in our history… a bloody good footnote to have but I am 40 years old…and hand on heart…very few or any of my greatest Utd moments involve Ronaldo. That’s ok isn’t it? When asked honestly to provide a list of really great Ronny moments people struggled to get past 5 or six and those included a couple of goals that were exceptional but surely would not make it into your top greatest utd moments.

for me for example sparky winning us the cup winners agains Barca, Bruce’s header…Eric’s volley to win the FA cup against the scouse…Turin…the Camp Nou…Jesus our comeback when 3-0 down to spurs…lads it’s spurs…winning the league 3 times in a row…Rooneys debut and the feeling that he was gonna score every time he touched the ball…beating the invincibles -Wayne Rooney again!…winning the double with youth players…Roy Keane being Roy Keane every single fuking game…some of the more recent wins against City and Pool even.

are they legitimately great Utd moments? If so what’s the problem? None of them were down to Ronny. Why is that “odd”?

for me he has the screamer in Porto…the really important one against Fulham was a cometh the hour kind of goal…and his header in the final is kinda cancelled out for me by his penalty miss.

I struggle after that. I sometimes think people mix up his incredible and unparalleled ability and career in general with his time with Utd. His time with Utd was very frustrating at least 50% of the time…then he did his thing and fuked off. Nothing there for me and I think I’ve made my case quite convincingly tbh.

I hope the rest of his career goes to shit.

And he really doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as someone like Messi. Great player/goalscorer for sure, but let's be honest, he's nowhere close to being the GOAT. Anyone who thinks he is doesn't understand the game of football.

I don't think he is the GOAT either, but how is he not "anywhere close"?

You can list me a bunch of names, and there will be flaws with just about any of them.
