CMs were always going to be in high demand after so many were lost in the injury round. They're the equivalent of left backs in the initial auction. Thankfully that's one area where we're more or less sorted :)
I mean you still have Robson and Souness available, I think. Personally I'd go for a cheaper CM...if I can get Cruyff. Just saying...

Yep. And a couple of others.

Depends precisely what you're in the market for, of course. Matthäus is Matthäus - but below him there are several who might do, again depending on precisely what you need.

downcast got lucky in this round and he already had a good core after good drafting and keeping his 3 best players.

Shelling out on a position he needs, makes sense. Not so many holes to fill.

What's interesting about this is the bench: Looking at my own squad, there are multiple players there who could have easily started the first match (even when factoring in the youth/legacy thing). Or, even more telling, there are multiple players who objectively speaking are better – quality wise – than some of those who started.

And the same is no doubt true for other managers as well.

Market maker....are you a banker or a broker?
Never heard of any teacher use that term. It's standard in Financial Services sector.
No at all! But, I know someone who works in the financial markets and used to explain me his business and the...glossary !!

He told me a 'market maker' having an influence on the price quotations and some market trends. Something like that :)

Yup. I've noticed him watching the thread a few times too the crafty bugger...waiting for everyone to show their hands before coming in and wreaking havoc
Yeah then the mad scramble to get bids in before the 8 hour mark will come and it'll all be going mad again.

Tactic where Pogba is the best option in this pool is yet to be invented :)
It's not about the best option. It's about the amount of players you'll be able to get along with the quality. I won't be bid up on Pogba meaning funds will be left to splash elsewhere.

understand that but i dont know, dont see the point of wasting 10m for someone who will be a weakness no matter what you do in tactics department.

I'm not sure he will. Maybe some people over rate some of the older generation but with a clear defined role there is no way Pogba on his day is seen as a weakness.

Not really a question of old-school versus new-school, I'd say. Pogba simply isn't the finished article - I don't think anyone can deny that, regardless of how highly they rate him.

But it's an interesting approach - we'll see how it goes.

Yeah I don't think he's as good as he will become currently, that alone doesn't make him a weakness though but I think that view is part of the problem. It's well known players are appreciated more when they retire so arguing for someone that hasn't even hit peak yet is even harder.

Older players get a bit overrated thats for sure but not in this case....Pogba isnt even in the top tier of midfielders who are currently playing and here will be against the best in history of the game. But lets finish this now and save the debate for the match thread :)
