Quite a few not-entirely-serious-but-some-actually-quite-serious predictions for 2012-13:

  • The Glazers' IPO will struggle/fail. MUST will declare this proof that the Glazers have to leave; GCHQ and the like will explain how this is all part of their strategy
  • Kawaga will have an outstanding first season
  • Smalling will displace Rio by the end of the season as first choice
  • Vidic will be immense yet again
  • If we sign Baines, then he will consistently be first choice over Evra, who will then leave for very little at the end of the season
  • Giggs will pass 940 appearances, and the aim to reach 1,000 will play a part in him renewing for yet another year
  • Scholes will close in on Sir Bobby's total, but will retire again at the end of the season regardless
  • Nani's contract talks will continue into the season, allowing the media to torture us with "Exclusives" every other weekend
  • Ashley Young will be seriously fouled in the opposition box at a crucial time, but the referee will wave it away/book him for diving
  • We will draw Premier League sides for as long as we're in the FA cup
  • If we reach the Champions League final, then so will Barca. You know the rest...
  • Every big/substantial loss will be followed by claims of our midfield not being strong enough. Top Reds will counter that we're fine there but just unlucky with injuries, and have great youth like Petrucci and Tunnicliffe coming through
  • Petrucci and Tunnicliffe will leave at the end of the season
  • David Gill will refer to our massive transfer war-chest during season ticket renewal time

And some random thoughts on others:

  • City will win the league several points clear of second place, which will likely be us as Roberto di Matteo will hold back Roman's new toys
  • If City play Real Madrid or the like, City will knock them out to the delight of the media who will praise City's remarkable and heroic turn-around the last few seasons
  • Hazard will have a good but not great season
  • Torres will re-find some form being first choice for Chelsea, but will then miss a lot of the season with injury
  • Chelsea will be top spenders in the January window
  • If he's still in the league, RvP will miss half of it with injuries
  • Aguero top scorer; will push for Real Madrid move in the summer
  • Balotelli will act like a cnut
  • Arsenal finish above Spurs, because they always do
  • Liverpool will have a better league season, but still finish 6th or lower
  • Newcastle will not do as well as last season
  • Another sugar daddy will have entered the Premier League for the 2013/14 season (Nottingham Forest maybe?) - the FA/Premier League will continue to do nothing

Welbeck, Campbell and Gibson will not make the grade. They'll slowly fade into lower-PL football, like Richardson, Eagles and the like.

If we're not talking exclusively about United - Liverpool will not win the league within 5 years. I made the same prediction about five years ago and I was laughed at.
Can Welbeck be considered faded into obscurity? This one looks nailed on

This is a great bump!

I liked the one about United struggling to find a replacement for VdS! :D

Mourinho WILL manage Manchester United.

Torres will leave Liverpool by Summer 2010.

Villa will reach the champion's league quarter final next year.
Arsenal will finish 5th

Adebayor will leave Arsenal in the summer

Fabregas will ask to leave in the summer, not get his wish but will be gone by Summer 2010

Real Madrid will sign Kaka in the summer
I'd be more worried about replacing SAF than VDS to be honest.
Ronaldo to reach his peak by 26 and decline thereafter

Rooney to have already peaked, but still have one great season before a noticable decline. - also to be played in midfield once 29
Wellbeck o play for Ingurlund
The next manager after Ferguson will last no longer than 18 months. :(
Defoe will be looking to leave Tottenham or complaining about lack of playing time within the next 18 months
Newcastle fans to still be campaigning for Shearer as manager 3 years after he's died
Some really good predictions.

I said Herrera would not be a regular this season and Matic was miles better as a 6.
Blind was never a Jose centre back.
Ok I said get rid of Lingard but I’ll take a rain check on that at the moment but I’m not holding my breath.

You got this one right, for all the wrong reasons unfortunately.
Yeah, I'm often wary of being too over-confident with youth but did think they'd do very well.

On the other points - not too bad. Mourinho eventually came in, Anderson was shite and eventually sold, although was wrong on the Nani front. Got our title win and City's mixed up too...

Constantly at the STD clinic.
Marcus Rashford wont make it Man United. He'll be sold to some team like Everton/West Ham in England or across Europe. Slowly establish himself as a favorite for that team and be a pretty good striker by the time he is 26 or 27 at which point big clubs will be interested in him again.

David Moyes will reestablish himself as a top class manager.

Rooney and Giggs will be very good managers, Giggs especially.

Januzaj will be La Liga/Premier league player of the year one day.

To illustrate how old this thread is

Citeh fans will burn United shirts the steets of Manchester in protest that MCFC HONOURS LIST is the final straw when typed into the GOOGLE search engine.
Google being referred to as "the Google search engine". Nine years later and Google has become one of the biggest companies in the world and a verb that refers to searching for something on the Internet.

Was that David Villa?

Chelsea will win the league next season with a new boss.

United won't win it under Jose.

Ireland will win it but Krum will catch the snitch.

Newcastle will get relegated this season or next and hire Garry Monk.

To be fair Smalling and Jones were two highly rated CBs at the time. There are endless number of players who don't reach fans' expectations for whatever reason.

Editing my own posts.
Wayne Rooney to leave United at around 31 after loosing his first team place. He will go back to Everton and be welcomed as a hero.
This confirmation of my prophetic insight and general brilliance would be a whole lot better if it wasn't sharing a page with this...

Ronaldo to reach his peak by 26 and decline thereafter
Though that does technically ring true for Fat Ronaldo (26 in 2002) so it's entirely possible I really meant him. The visions aren't always accurate you see. They often come to me through an abstract dimensional void, in the form of scents and riddles. Sometimes even several years after the fact.

That one about Anderson scoring more than Modric made me feel a bit old, and I'm only 23.

United will be the club Jose spends his longest time at, lasting somewhere around 6 years.
