Sometimes you really just have to think whats going on in Ole's head.
Finally makes a sub and it's an absolute shambolic one.

Yes that. We look tired. When players look tired you make a change. Why do you think most subs happen?
To change the complexion of the game. Now we need to make a sub, now Villareal are coming back into it.

Players take time to grow into a match. At this point they will be ‘just’ fresh legs

Either that or he's looking for excuses if we do lose... "We didn't have the quality on the bench to turn the game and the players on the field were tired" yada yada.
He is playing for penalties and wants these players to take them

Isn't that just a stupidly risky tactic? Why not go out and win the game in Normal/Extra time than face the put luck that is penalties?
Whats his excuse if we lose on pens when it's brought up about his sub choices?

You don’t make a change this late. You don’t wait until things go bad before you make a change. Good managers aren’t constantly reacting

Get VDB on for McT. Nothing left but to go for it.

Who do people think we have on our bench that will make a huge difference?

If Rashy isn't getting anything out of their defence, will James?
Van Beek and Mata have barely had a snifter all year, bit of a stretch to think they'll suddenly produce some magic.

We need experienced winners on the pitch and we have them....I don’t see any inspiring winners (apart from Diallo) on the bench and that’s a risk....we can win this...

There is only one team playing for penalties and it isn’t United.
Are you sure, mate? We barely entered the final third in the first half of extra-time whilst they had two or three dangerous forays into our box. They look as dangerous as they have all night, IMO, and we are not countering that with adequate personnel nor tactical changes.

But if you start with your best team as surely most managers will you can say same about every match. Stop pretending that 1 sub in what might be 120 mins of football is normal

We were shit for that half, different to playing for penalties.

Good managers generally don’t risk upsetting the game when they’re by far the superior team, either. Certainly not when the alternatives look like ours.

Can't read the game. If he doesn't get the lineup and tactics correct from the start it's a total lottery.

His front five were all the likely penalty takers and he seemed scared to take one off.

Ole has completely bottled this, it's on him if we lose this, appalling in game management, looks like a Cardiff manager tonight
